Chapter 15-A celebration

Leonard and I laid exhausted on the ground of the academy's battlegrounds. Both of us were breathing heavily due to the many sparring matches we just had.

Suddenly I heard footsteps approaching me. I had no strength to get up. I looked up towards the sky which was quickly becoming covered in stars. Suddenly a familiar face entered my vision.

  Alice!

I raised my hand and she grabbed it. She then pulled me up with a bit of effort. We also helped Leonard get up.

  I exhaled deeply.

"I am exhausted like a virgin after her first time." I said.

Then I felt a heavy pain in my stomach.

Alice had punched me yet again.

  "Don't use such perverted analogies."

"I won't. I promise." I said while grabbing my stomach in pain.

Leonard upon seeing such a scene chuckled.

"Anyway the Elder is gonna organize a celebration for the successful hunt for Adam in a few minutes. I heard there will be a ton of food and drinks." Alice explained.

"What kinds of drinks?" I asked.

  "Water, Wine. Bee-"

"Wine? I fucking love wine." I said, cutting off Alice halfway through her sentence.

I then turned to leave the battlegrounds at a quick pace. Alice and Leonard followed behind me.

  ...

We exited the academy and entered the city hall. It was massive and filled with tables and chairs. On the tables there were plates and cups filled with food and drinks.

There were already people around. I licked my lips and decided to look for a seat. After a few minutes of running around the massive city hall I spotted an empty seat. I rushed towards it and extended one of my hands to touch it.

However I felt the touch of another human hand. The skin on it was a bit pale and it's fingers were slender and boney. I traced the hand back to it's owner. A slender man around 2,1 meters tall towered over me. He had deep black hair and green eyes as well as the same pale skin as his hand. In his other hand he was carrying a long wooden staff that was painted red.

We both looked at each other. Neither of us wanted to give up the seat.

"Hey man piss off. Why do you even want this food and wine? You already look like a skeleton." I said.

The man's expression was that of annoyance.

"Alright listen here shorty. I saw this spot first. Understand?"

I grew angry at his words. How dare he call me short!

Our argument naturally gathered the attention of everyone around us.

"Wait isn't that Gregory?" Someone called out.

"Gregory? The Tier 2 cultivator who was injured severely and had to be in medical care for a while?" Another person replied.

I listened to the conversations of these people. I then looked at the man again and used the description of Gregory from my memory to compare them.

Tall, black hair, pale skin, green eyes...It's him!

Gregory smiled. Who would be insane enough to stand up to him now that they knew who he was?

Well the answer is simple...I am.

"Alright then. How about a competition?" I asked.

Everyone's jaws dropped to the floor. Even Gregory himself was suprised.

The people around them started screaming at the top of their lungs trying to convince me that I was being an idiot.

But I didn't listen to them.

  And neither did Gregory.

  He grew intrigued.

  "What kind?" He asked.

"A drinking competition. We will each be handed a cup of wine. We will then attempt to drink the entire cup at once. Once we are done we will be given a cup of a spicier wine which we will have to drink at once just like the previous one. Whoever drinks the spiciest wine in a minute of time wins the ownership of this seat."

  Gregory smiled in amusement.

  "Alright I'm in." He said.

Leonard and Alice watched this scene from a distance in an absolutely shocked state.

"I swear he's so unserious sometimes. So...unlike himself." Alice said in an exhausted voice.

"Is that a bad thing? Life isn't just sadness and pain all the time. There's happiness and silliness in it as well."

  "I guess you're right."

Then suddenly Pheobe squeezed through the crowd of people until she got close to Alice and Leonard.

  "Hey. What's happening?" She asked.

Alice pointed towards a certain direction.

Pheobe turned her head and saw me and Gregory drinking a cup of wine at the same time.

"Okay but...what's happening?" Pheobe asked in confusion.

"They got into a drinking competition over a seat." Alice succinctly explained.

Pheobe's eyes lit up with understanding.

"By the way is the Fatestar family not here?" She asked.

"Well they don't exactly got a lot to celebrate. One of their members became a traitor and now they're holding a celebration over his death. It would just be awkward." Alice once again explained.

At the same time both me and Gregory were drinking a spicy cup of wine. Even though more then a minute has passed we had to redo it since the last round was a draw.

"Stop." The person in charge of keeping track of the time said.

  We both lowered our cups.

  They were both empty.

  Another draw.

And so we started again. And again. And again. And again.

After a few more rounds the floor at out feet was covered in empty wine cups. And yet there was still no winner.

It was taking so long that people have even started betting on who would win.

And so another round began. We drank the wine. The people around us screamed and cheered us on. The night grew long and my mind became a blur.

  ...

  Crash!

I was woken up suddenly by a loud noise. I found myself on the floor of the city hall. My vision was blurry but it quickly adjusted.

I looked around and saw the cause of the loud noise. At the spot where the academy entrance once stood there was now a massive cloud of dust. From this cloud of dust a figure walked out. He was a burly man with blond hair and green eyes.

In his right arm he was dragging something. I focused my vision to see what it was.

My gaze froze. It was a dead body. And I recognized it. It was the Elder. He was dead.

Suddenly I heard sounds of struggling around me. Due to excessive drinking last night my orientation was awful. But my vision was somewhat normal now and I could observe what was happening.

Around me people with blond hair and green eyes were attacking and killing all the other people who were hungover from last night. Most of them were killed in their sleep, not knowing that they had died. Others were awoken by the commotion and tried to put up a resistance.

Suddenly I heard a voice from besides me.

  "Duck!"

Once I heard this I crouched down quickly. I saw a red blur move above my head and vanish behind me. Then I heard a cracking sound. It was the sound of bone being broken.

I looked behind me. I saw a blond haired man lying on the ground with a smashed and bloody nose. I then looked to my left, the direction the voice came from. I saw Gregory with his pale skin holding the red staff in his hand.

"Come on. We gotta get out."

I nodded weakly and followed him as he rushed away from the academy and the city hall in front of it. I turned back to look at the burly man once again.

I finally recognized him. Alexander Fatestar. The strongest Tier 2 of the Moon Flower Sect and the father of Adam Fatestar.

  ...

I looked at the destruction in the city hall. Then I looked at the corpse of the Elder that I was dragging with me. I let go of my grip and it dropped to the ground heavily.

I then smiled. My plan to wipe out the Moon Flower Sect was working.

After it is fully done I will remake this sect from the ground up with the Fatestar family as it's rulers.

Why? Because it was our rightful destiny!

Long ago during the time the Heavenly Wheel Sect still existed the Fatestar family was one of it's promenent members. However after it split into many smaller sects like the Moon Flower Sect the family lost it's influence.

Now they ruled the Moon Flower Sect alongside other families which didn't sit right with the members of the Fatestar family who wanted the days of glory to return to their family.

I, Alexander Fatestar, also desired the same. So I started thinking. Then I came up with the idea of a traitor from our family getting hunted and a celebration of his death being held. We would use the drunken nature of the other sect members against them and kill them all. This could only be done in this celebration since the Fatestar family would have an excuse for not participating where as in any other celebration they would have to participate and would inevitably get drunk themselves and the plan would be a lot less effective.

So I have raised Adam to be unfaithful to the Moon Flower Sect. In the Moon Flower sect a child would be taken to train at the academy at the ago of 12 and would stay there for 6 years until they reach the ago of 18 and become real cultivators.

This meant there were 12 years of time for me to raise Adam into a traitor which was more then enough. Through many manipulation tactics I managed to turn him into a perfect pawn piece. One that was ready to be used.

In the end the plan had worked.

The plan which has been in the making since before Adam's birth. A plan in the making for over 18 years!

I couldn't help but celebrate. The Fatestar family could now finally return to it's former glory.
