Chapter 26 Outing? Food? Count me in.

"Hey, you." A soft, high pitched voice resounded in the classroom. The owner of the voice did not bother to lower their voice in fear of drawing attention. In fact, she wanted to garner attention towards herself.

Adam turned his gaze to the right where a short brown haired girl with glasses stood. Her hands on her hips as she glared down at him. "Oh... It's you again." He sighed, shifting his gaze away from her.

The blonde girl in front of him who had introduced herself as Regina seemed to gain interest in their interaction. She turned around, leaning her back against the wall as she watched.

"Don't play with me." The brown haired girl, also known as Rica Strenae. She was a thorn in Adam's side. "What is a bastard like you doing here? You should just leave." Her tone was full of indignation, she did not even attempt to hide her disgust.

"Why would I leave? Because you asked me to?" Adam spoke, annoyance evident in his tone. He turned to glare at her. Rica flinched but she kept her glare fixed on him.

"You should leave because you should be ashamed for ever showing your face after your disgusting act." She scowled at him. All eyes turned towards them.

The teacher, mister Hector had already exited the classroom. He left for the day so they were left alone, free to leave and go back to the dorms if they wished so, but most chose to stay and socialize with each other, making friends and chatting with new people. They were going to be classmates for the next 5 or so years after all.

"Woah, buddy. What did you do to deserve all that?" Regina rested her chin on the back rest of her chair, her leg going through the space between the backrest and the chair's base. She had a mischievous grin on her face. She shifted her blood red eyes towards Rica, the brown haired girl simply furrowed her brows at the blonde's words.

"Buddy? Don't tell me you're his friend." Rica spoke, turning towards Regina. "I'll tell you here and now. He's a bastard, a despicable bastard. You should not even talk to a son of a bi-" She turned her gaze towards Adam. The boy took in a deep breath, Now she's gonna hate me like all the others. He exhaled, She was a bitch anyways. But he was wrong.

"I don't care about any of that." Regina waved a hand, her eyes closed as she shifted, resting her chin on her arm now as she glanced up at Rica with her blood red eyes. Rica was slightly taken aback by Regina's words and her sudden interruption.

"What?" She frowned, a confused and surprised expression on her face.

"I said I don't care about any of that." Regina repeated herself as she straightened her back. "His face may look satisfying to punch, but seriously, Why do you hate him?" She turned the question around towards Rica.

"He sexually assaulted my friend. Of course I'll hate him. Is that even a question?" Rica scowled.

"Oh," Regina's mouth made an O shape. But her eyes remained firm. "That's actually pretty bad. Hey, you. Is that actually true?" She turned towards Adam, who was still slightly taken aback by her choosing to defend him.

"... They're just allegations. And I choose to plead innocent till the end because I am." He narrowed his eyes on Rica. The brown haired girl clenched her jaw and her scowl deepened, turning uglier.

Regina turned towards the brown haired girl, a smile on her face. "If they're just allegations, what's the big deal?" She rested her chin on the palm of her hand, a wide grin spreading on her face.

"You..." She hissed through her gritted teeth. "Why do you choose to defend him?! Knowing full well that he might be a criminal!" Rica shouted, her voice echoing through the classroom. "My friend, CRIED her eyes out. When I saw her, I knew I needed to rip apart the bastard that did that to her..." Her glare at Adam intensified.

Regina's face changed, her expression hardening. She stared coldly at the brown haired girl. "Why do I choose to defend him?" She spoke calmly. "Why do you choose to attack him?" She asked, and her question seemed to freeze Rica's fury.

Rica stared at the blonde girl's grinning face for a few moments before she scowled. Her nose scrunching up in anger. "You're just like him... A heartless bastard." She spat before she turned to leave.

Regina watched the brown haired girl leave, her lips curling up even more. It's just so fun making people angry. She giggled softly.

The tale has been illicitly lifted; should you spot it on Amazon, report the violation.

"Why did you argue with her?" Adam spoke up, his eyes scrutinizing Regina. "Why did you help me." He looked her up and down. This girl, she's strange. He narrowed his eyes on her.

"Huh~" Regina raised an eyebrow, scrunching her nose. "I helped you and you're complaining? Maybe I shouldn't have helped." She crossed her arms and huffed, pouting.

"I didn't need help. I had it handled." He spoke simply. And he really did have it handled as he said. He could have just ignored the girl. She couldn't do anything to him especially with the professor's warning.

"Ehh~ You had it handled? Then maybe I shouldn't have interrupted..." She rubbed her chin, feigning deep thought as she hummed. "Meh, I would have done it either way." Her grin widened.

Adam took in a deep breath and exhaled. I don't have anything else to say. He stood up and started towards the door. Regina's face shifted to surprise. "Wait. Where are you going?! We still didn't finish talking!" She called out to him but he just ignored her.

Adam disappeared swiftly after, going beyond the classroom door. To say Regina's face looked dumb was an understatement. What the hell?! I wasn't done talking! You piece of- "Ugh!" She grunted as she clenched her fists. That made her really mad. But also sort of peaked her interest...

Amanda watched on, her lips quivering as she stiffled laughter. She had seen the interaction between the two. And seeing Regina's face after Adam completely ignored her. It almost made her burst out into a fit of laughter.

"Arron, did you see that?" Amanda turned towards Arron. The boy was lost in thought. He was thinking about the future. Making plans now that he had made it happen. And more than that he was in the royal class. "Arron?"

"H-huh? Oh yeah..." Arron flinched as he heard his being called. Amanda gave him a blank stare. "Yeah. You weren't listening to a thing I said. What's on your mind?" Amanda asked, tilting her head to the side.

Arron scratched the back of his head. "Sorry, I was just thinking about what to do later." He smiled. Amanda's interest was piqued.

"What to do later? Hey. Me and a bunch of others are going out to explore the city. You wanna come with?" She smiled. "We're probably gonna go out to eat as well." She wiggled her browse.

"I'm in." Arron said without missing a beat. Amanda chuckled softly. "But, Peia is a big city you know." He said, a hint of concern in his voice.

"Yeah, I know. We're not planning on exploring it in one go dummy. We'll just go to the areas surrouding Prism and that's it." Amanda shot him a blank stare.

"I mean, sure. I will leave after eating though." Arron shrugged. "Seriously?" Amanda sighed. "Dude, what do need to do that's making you so busy?" She furrowed her brows at him.

"I gotta go train. You heard the professor, we can't fall behind." Arron said.

Amanda was quite bewildered. She could call herself a hardworker but training on the first day of school. That's a different level of diligence. "Really? Why don't you give yourself a break?" She asked curiously.

"Ah... Well, you know. I'm not a noble with a lot of money nor am I a prince with authority. I'm just a commoner, and if I don't work harder than all the others... I'll end up falling short." Arron spoke, a distant looking crossing his face. Amanda's face shifted to slight surprise and awe. Then, it changed to a wide smile.

"I guess that's fine then." Amanda couldn't keep a smile off her face. The way he said it was just too wholesome to ignore. "Arron... How are you so diligent?" She mumbled under her breath.

"What was that?" Arron turned to her, raising an eyebrow. Amanda met his gaze with her own. "Nothing." She smiled.

Evelyn left the classroom as soon as the professor was out. She had somethings to attend to... She speedwalked through the halls. Her eyes scanning the signs above the doors. She swiftly found her destination. Training room. She walked inside.

The sound of the large double doors opening resounded as the few people inside the training room turned towards the newcomer. They were all second years to fourth years. Evelyn was the only first year to be there. She ignored the stares and simply walked over to a certain area.

She spotted several dummies made of special materials. There was a sign next to that certain area that read. Ability training area. She took in a deep breath before she started her training.

The fact that she was overshadowed, overpowered and defeated so many times was just... Humiliating. She bit her lower lip hard enough to draw blood. How can the duke's daughter, Lumine be defeated in such a manner... Like nothing. That black haired boy... He defeated the juggernaut in one swing of his sword! I cannot let myself fall behind even if it kills me!

She created a giant hammer of pink energy and slammed it down on one of the dummies. The dummy took the hit and did not shake once. My goal is to break this dummy. She took in a deep breath before she resumed her swings.

Little did she know, the dummies were especially crafted to withstand the strikes of any and all abilities. It was crafted with the special mineral Virdium, making the dummies, virtually unbreakable using an ability.

She swung her hammer, each strike landing on the dummy sending cracks through the ethereal weapon. Until finally, it shattered in her grip. Evelyn wasn't done yet. She utilized the shards of pink energy, taking hold of them, refusing to let them disperse. She repurposed the shards into another functioning weapon. A war axe.

She swung down on the dummy. But she faced the same result. The war axe swiftly shattered after too many strikes. Evelyn panted heavily, taking deep and slow breaths. Sweat rolled down her chin.

She grinded her teeth together. What are these dummies made of?! She swung down once more, no longer bothering to use conjured weapons and instead, encasing her fists in pink energy and punching the dummy. She manipulated the pink energy on her fists to creat sharp protrusions in her fists, similar to brass knuckles.

She swung away to no avail...
