Chapter 27 You didnt bring any?

Arron walked into the training area, a duffle bag slung around his shoulder. It was provided by the academy along with the water canteens and the towels. He was grateful that they provided it, since he couldn't really afford one.

He had already went out with Amanda and a few others. There was the brown haired girl that had an argument with Regina before and another brown haired girl with emeral green eyes. He had recognized her, she helped out in against the juggernaut. Her name is Suzi. She was a martial artist that used her fists in battle.

He shook his head and faced the large double doors to the training area.

He walked in and suddenly, he received many stares. He glanced around and he noticed that he was the only first year student in the training area. He looked around before he spotted a distant pink energy, dazzling and flashingly beautiful. It struck several teal metallic dummies.

He sighed in relief. He recognized her, it was the duke's daughter. He walked towards her. Since she was the only other first year student there. He wanted to train near her. It just felt less suffocating to train on your own while being stared at. Wait, why are they staring at me? He threw a glance back and he met the eyes of a senior student. A girl with black curly short hair and ruby red eyes. He quickly shifted his gaze elsewhere. But, he could've sword he saw that girl smirk.

He shuddered as he could still fill her gaze piercing into his back. He walked forward, his eyes locked onto a sign. Ability training area. Well, looks like I can't train here after all... He decided to move to the closest dummies the ability training area. There was still a considerable distance between him and Evelyn, but they could ee each other if they wanted to.

Evelyn did not seem to keen on distracting herself from training. She swung several pink weapons until they shattered on the dummy's surface. Does she not get tired? He took out his wooden sword, also provided by the academy and began his sword training on the dummies.

Wood, met wood as he swung and stepped. His plan was to work on the basics for the day instead of mana training. The basics are important after all. He thought as he swung down on the dummy, hitting the shoulders. He twirled around throwing a lower hoizontal slash before finishing the combo with an upward vertical slash. "I need to work on my speed." He clenched his fist tighter before he resumed swinging his blade.

Arron panted heavily as he sat down on one of the benches. His chest rose and fell steadily, his rhythmic breathing the only sound he heard for a few moments. He searched through the duffle bag and pulled out a water canteen. It was a metallic one, far better than the leather one he had before. He uncorcked the cateen and started taking slow swigs of water.

He needed to drink only a little since drinking too much while training was bad for the stomach and would give him stomach pain. He sat here, catching his breath for a moment, just staring at the ground. After a few moments he finally caught his breath. Suddenly, he heard the sound of glass shattering and he snapped his gaze towards the source.

She's still at it? He stared at her, his expression unreadable. For the last thirty minutes Evelyn has been continuously breaking and recreating her pink ethereal weapons. And Arron had seen her doing it when he entered so she had probably been doing it for a lot longer than he initially perceived.

The sound of her ethereal weapons thudding against the metallic dummies paused for a moment. Evelyn panted heavily, her mouth feeling dry as she glanced around. I forgot to bring water... She breathed as sweat drops fell down her face. Her training attire was damp with sweat now.

Evelyn shifted her gaze to the area next to the ability training area and she spotted a figure of a boy staring at her. The boy with dark blue hair like the night sky was staring at her. In his hand he held a water canteen. She gulped as she forced her eyes away.

Arron was a little taken aback when Evelyn spotted him, at first he thought she was glaring at him. But then, he realized she was actually staring at the water canteen in his hands more than him. Did she not bring any? He smiled. Looks like even the famous and graceful duke's daughter can forget. He took in a deep breath before he walked over to his bench.

Stolen from Royal Road, this story should be reported if encountered on Amazon.

He reached into the duffle bag, shuffling inisde it with his hand, ramaging through it. He produced another water canteen. He shifted his gaze from the second water canteen in his hand and glanced over at Evelyn. The blue haired girl was really eying the second water canteen.

Her eyes shifted from the water canteen to Arron's smiling face. It was as if she had met her ray of hope. Water... She gulped again. Can he spare any? She wondered inwardly. She did not have the courage to ask him head on. She didn't want to admit her shortcoming of forgetting the most basic training item...

Arron, a wide smile on his face extended the hand with the second water canteen forward as if he was offering it to her. Evelyn seeing this gesture, was left stumped. For a moment she forgot about her thirst and simply stared at Arron for a few moments. Her eyes darting between his face and the second water canteen.

All before she finally relented and walked over towards him, her face slightly flushed. I can't believe I have to take water from a classmate... She reached towards the water canteen and took it quietly before twirling around to leave.

Arron smiled as she took the second water canteen. When she turned around she paused for a moment. And Arron was a little confused. Does she need something else? Her shoulders trembled for a few moments.

A soft murmur could be heard from Evelyn. She opened her mouth to speak, but her voice was so low that Arron couldn't hear a thing. "Thank..." She took in a deep breath. Arron could almost hear what she wanted to say. "Thank you." She finally said after exhaling and composing herself. She swiftly left after.

Arron sighed, "Well, it is what it is. I helped someone today." He smiled to himself before he took out his wooden sword and resumed his sword training. Each swing of his sword was done in passion and determination to become stronger. Helping Evelyn had raised his mood today.

He was always someone that fueld himself with the positive energy of others. He started humming a tune to himself as he swung his sword.

On the farthest corner of the training area. A black haired girl with crystal blue beautiful eyes sat on a bench, her duffle bag on her thighs. She clutched the bag nervously. Are they gonna find me here? She wondered as her eyes darted around, surveying the area for any signs of danger. I made sure to clear the crowded areas. I should be safe here where nobody is... Right?

She pursed her lips, her teeth sinking into the soft flesh. What did I do to deserve this? Why me? Why? She could feel frustration bubbling up along with sadness inside of her. Her eyes were hot red, blue and black hues coloured the underside of her eye, giving her tired worn out look. She buried her face into her hands and began sobbing quietly. Stifling as much of the pained sobs as she could.

Tears streamed through her fingers. Her shoulders trembling.

It felt like an eternity before she finally calmed down. She took in deep rapid breaths, taking in as much air as she could. She then stood up and picked up a bow. She was at the farthest area from the door to the training room. The far left corner. What can I do? She pursed her lips. She was Emily, just a C- class student. She couldn't do much against...

She shook her head vigorously. All I can do is practice to not fall behind. She took in a deep breath before nocking an arrow onto the string of her compound bow... It was a gift. A gift from a dear person who she had pushed away. She was ashamed to even hold this weapon in her hands. Her fingers trembled as she tucked on the string.

She let go. The arrow cut through the air. Her aim was off. She hit the dummy's stomach instead of the chest area which was marked by the red marker. I'm a failure too... Why did I do that? She took in quivering breaths before she nocked another arrow onto the string. She tugged onto the compound bow's strings as hard as she could. Making the arrows powerful wasn't hard for her. What was hard was actually hitting the intended mark...

She let go, hoping her arrow hit the red mark this time. But, it simply embedded itself onto the wood behind the dummy. The sound of the arrow piercing the wood a distant mockery of her inability to hit a mark despite being an archer. A marksman who can't hit the mark...

She nocked another arrow onto the string, pulling hard on the string. The compound bow trembled in her unsteady grip. Once she let go, the arrow zipped through the air, going way off its intended trajectory. It flew through the air and struck a stone wall before shattering into splinters. The girl's lips trembled as she looked over the damage she had done to the wall.

I can't do this... Why is it so hard? Her arms fell limp to her sides. The compound bow almost falling out of her grip. However, she held tight onto it. For it was the only reminder she had of a relationship that she ruined, corrupted and destroyed. All because of what? A few threats? What a coward she was... She should have endured.

She shook her head before she walked back towards her duffle bag. She placed the bow back into the bag and zipped it up. She slung it around her shoulder. I should just leave... She began walking. Her eyes lost as her body piloted her movement. Beatrice didn't know what to do.
