Chapter 25 First day of classes...

Arron sat in a classroom. He was early to sit there. Next to him, sat Amanda. The two of them were conversing. As they talked, they noticed the atmosphere in the classroom was tense.

Everyone was staring at Regina. The blonde girl had garnered a reputation after her display at the welcome ceremony. However, Regina simply smiled at any judging look she got. They would avoid her gaze immediately after.

"Seriously? Why would she be in the royal class..."

"Why is such a violent person in the royal class of all places?"

"Isn't this supposed to be a class for the elite?"

The entire class went silent when a person walked through the door. He was of average height. But he didn't come short in the physical appearance. He was quite the handsome one. He had short dark green hair, his eyes, a dark green colour surveyed the classroom, lingering on Regina for a few moments before darting elsewhere. It was Adam, and his presence did not help the atmosphere of the class.

"Great, we have a commoner, a punk and a rapist." A remark was thrown, loud enough to be heard by everyone. The source of the remark was a boy, he was on the chubby side, he had brown hair and feckles on his face.

"Could this class get any better?" He shook his head. Everyone just ignored him.

Regina's blood red eyes were fixed on the dark green haired boy, Adam. She stared at him as he walked through the classroom. All the seats were filled except for the ones near Regina. Adam's eyes met hers, they stared at each other for a few moments. Regina stared up at him with curiosity while Adam stared down at her, trying to discern her.

Adam settled down on the seat behind Regina, and that was when they broke eye contact.

Arron stared at the two's interaction, his expression confused and slightly curious. "What's up?" Amanda followed Arron's gaze to stare at the two. "Oh hey, that's your really violent friend right?" Amanda's eyes flashed with recognition.

"Yea- she's not." He paused as thought over his words. "Yeah, I guess she is pretty violent."

Amanda's gaze drifted to the person sitting behind Regina. "And that's..." Amanda's face shifted from excitement to a grim expression. "Adam Illusio." She said furrowing her brows in annoyance.

Arron raised an eyebrow and turned her. "Amanda? Do you know him?" He asked tilting his head to the side curiosly. "And why is everyone staring at him?" Arron had noticed. He had noticed the stares that the dark green haired boy was getting from students all around.

"I do... Unfortunately." Amanda sighed. "He's the son of a prestigious family. They're called the Illusio family. They might be prestigious but they're not exactly nobles. But you can hear of them wherever you go." Amanda explained, "He's part of it and he was recently disowned by his family..." She pursed her lips.

Arron glanced at Adam curiously. He had seen him fighting along with Regina, before they eventually fought each other at the exam. "Really? What for?" He asked furrowing his brows. The fact that he was disowned by his family was surprising to Arron.

"Sexual assault." Amanda said, her voice trembling slightly in disgust, as if the mere thought of the act made her want to vomit. "I like to convince myself that they're just allegations..." Amanda turned her gaze away from Adam. Her mood was soured.

To say Arron's face was that of shock would be an understatement. "Oh..." He said, his mouth forming an o shape. He glanced over at Adam. "They're just allegations though right? It could be wrong." He said calmly. The knowledge was quite surprising to him. However, Arron was a person who would die first before judging someone by a simple allegation. "Let's not judge someone based off of just that." He turned towards Amanda.

Amanda, slightly taken aback by Arron's reply stared at him for a few moments. Her face of surprise cracked to show a wide smile, "you're right. Hahaha~" She chuckled softly.

A case of literary theft: this tale is not rightfully on Amazon; if you see it, report the violation.

Suddenly, the whole classroom went silent as an individual with grey hair and a well shaved face walked in. He had several pieces of paper and notebooks. He set his materials down and turned towards the class. "Settle down everyone." He spoke calmly. His voice resounding through the whole classroom.

"My name is Hector Gray. And I will be your homeroom teacher from here on out." He said as he placed his hands on the desk and leaned forward. "I hope that we would work together for you, the new generation to reach new heights never seen before. In the generations that Prism has raised, none have not gone down in history from the royal class." He tapped his fingers on the wooden desk. The sound, rhythimic and gentle.

"And I hope that you will not be the end of the line..." He surveyed the classroom with his gaze. "Now, I do have several rules that I do not wish to be overlooked. Of course, they are different from the normal school rules. I have my own." He narrowed his eyes at a certain chubby boy. The brown haired boy glanced around, not realising the teacher's gaze.

"I expect all of you to follow these rules strictly. Otherwise you will be penalized. Is everything understood?" He surveyed the students once more, his eyes scanning the classroom. No response or interjection from the students. "Good."

He stood straight, taking his hands off the desk before walking around it and leaning back on it, facing the class. "First and foremost. No discrimination. Your origin does not matter in Prism. All of you in the royal class are here because you made it in with your own wits and strength." He held a finger up. The students were quiet, no response or remark to be made.

"If I spot even a single one of you discriminating against a fellow studen you will face a heavy penalty, expulsion is not out of the question." He narrowed his eyes at some students.

He extended another finger. "Second." His eyes scanned the class. "Do not harm your fellow students. Weather it be physical or emotional. You will face heavy penalties if I were to know of it. I will deal with you myself." His voice took on a dangerous glint for a moment before returning to the professional tone.

He held up a third finger. "Third and last. Wrok hard. Do not let yourself fall behind, just because you are in the royal class. Prism works with a ranking system, if you were to be overshadowed by a lower ranking classmate or students of lower ranking classes. You will be replaced and overshadowed." He made it a point to emphasize the replacement part.

A few students visibly reacted at that, weather it be sweat falling down their chin or simply looking uneasy. "I believe that part is understood." Hector nodded as he let his hand fall to his side.

"Then, now that we have that done. We shall start with the first lesson in history." He walked back around his desk and sat down. "What do you all know of the cataclysm?" He asked. The last word seemed to stir a few reactions out of the students.

A hand went up from one of the students. Hector seemed to regard the student who held their hand up with a long gaze. "Lumine. You may answer." He gestured at Evelyn, the one who held up her hand.

"Yes sir." She rose from her seat spoke up. Her voice radiating confidence, her posture not falling behind. "The cataclysm happened over 1300 years ago. It was a calamity of unknown origin that shook the entire world. It has been recorded that the calamity lasted for three whole days where the world continuously pulsated with both magical and space shockwaves." Evelyn trailed off, taking a breath and letting her words sink in. All before she continued.

"Based on current knowledge of space magic, it is believed large continuous bursts of magical energy were the ones responsible for the ripples in space. By the zealots of the church, it was believed to be a godly event, most likely a battle between gods." She finished before sitting back down.

"Good. Lumine, your answer is sufficient. But..." Hector trailed off. "Anyone else has anything to add to Lumine's answer?" He looked around for a few moments.

Evelyn was confident in her answer. She sat back down without worry. When no one raised their hand. Hector paused for a few seconds before he spoke up. "Alright, since most of you are familiar with the cataclysm now. I want you to answer me, what do you as a student think the cause fo the cataclysm was." He said as he surveyed the classroom. His eyes landed on a blue haired girl, the one who answered just then. "Starting with you Lumine."

Evelyn was silent for a few mments. "I believe it was merely the clash of celestial bodies sir. A natural occurance that just so happened to occur near our planet." She gave a simple answer.

Hector nodded. Simple, sufficient and has a bit of truth to it. Some celestial bodies are considered gods by some. He glanced around at the other students. "Now everyone. There is no right answer to this question as we still have no idea what caused the cataclysm, so feel free to speculate about its origin."

"What about you Amanda Stella. What do you think was the origin of this event?" He asked as gestured at the princess. Arron threw a side glance at her, wondering what she could have in mind as an answer.

Amanda brought her hand to her chin, rubbing it slowly. A contemplative expression crossing her face. "I believe it was truly a fight between gods. As we all know, some celestial bodies are considered gods." She trailed off before continuing. "My and Evelyn's answers sort of line up."

Hector nodded. "It is a response I'll give you that." These two answers seemed to open up the door for more speculations. The class continued without any problems. It was quite the fun session for students to put their creative minds into use.
