Chrissy POV

  Within two hours, the rest of the family gathered home once more. Vivian and Alaric drove home in their respective cars, which they have never bothered to use to drop me off at school. My grandparents flew, literally, through the sky, one of the abilities that vampires have, although I heard no one in the family is as good as my grandparents..

  “So, is it true? Did Chrissy finally awaken her vampire abilities?” Vivian asked as she closed her car door

  “She better have, or else you would have interrupted our trip to San Francisco.” My grandfather,Edward, said grumpily and I clicked my tongue. We were in the state of California, and San Francisco was around fifty miles away, close enough for them to take me, but they don’t. Hopefully, now that I have my vampire abilities, I can just fly there myself.

  “Yes father, she has, I have confirmed it myself.” Dad said, referring to him forcing me to run super speed across the lawn earlier.

  “Well then, if she has indeed awakened her powers, then I’m sure she’s listening in our conversation right now. Isn’t that right grumpy little granddaughter of mine?” Grandma said and I waved my hand from inside the kitchen.

  “Hi grandma.” I whispered and I could see her smile.

  “I’m not convinced, just because she can hear us, that doesn’t mean that she has awakened her abilities. I mean, enhanced senses could be the only thing she got.” Alaric said

  “Along with enhanced strength and speed.” Mom added and I smiled at her

  “There is more to being a vampire than just our enhanced bodies.” Edward said

  “I also have hypnosis. Just incase you were wondering.” I said, before continuing drinking from a blood bag. After mom talked to dad and I came downstairs, I have felt hungry and not for human food. I have been drinking blood bag after blood bag since then and I’m now at my sixth.

  “How rude, won’t you even come out here and give your grandma a hug?” Camilla said and I got up off my chair and ran outside, with super speed of course, and gave a hug which made her smile. Grandma has always been nice, even when I was mean and bitchy, although she wasn’t afraid to give me some harsh discipline when I got out of hand. Just remembering makes me since in pain.

  “Impressive, what else can you do? Have you tried misting, phasing or flight yet?” Vivian asked, and I could here the excitement in her voice

  “No, I’m not too confident trying those just yet.” I said, and it was true. Turning your body into mist and phasing through solid objects can be dangerous if you don’t have proper guidance. You can get hurt trying to put yourself back together after turning to pure mist or you could get trapped while phasing through an object and suffocate. Although suffocation wouldn’t kill a vampire due to our advance regeneration, which would constantly regenerate our dying cells. It would still hurt like a bitch.

  “Well then, we could start now. With the entire family here, you have nothing to worry about.” Vivian said as she caressed my cheeks and I smiled.

  “Before we do that, we should test if she has the family ability. It is the most important part of our lineage after all.” Edward said in stern voice

  “Father are you sure, she only awakened her abilities today. It took me weeks to be able to use mine. She might not be ready.” Dad rejected

  “We have taught her about the family ability since she was a child, she should be able to perform the most basic application of the family ability.” Edward said and my father frowned a bit

  “Alright you two, let’s just allow her to try. If she can’t do it, then we can simply train her. Is that alright with you my dear?” Grandma asked me

  “It’s alright with me.” I replied confidently

  “Then begin.” Grandma said and everyone took a few steps back, away from me

  “R-right now.” I said less confidently

  “Of course, just focus and remember all we’ve told you about the family ability. Good luck.” Grandma said reassuringly. For vampires, our family abilities are our pride as it could be said to be our connection to our earliest ancestors, the first of our family lineage. As such, I have been told a lot about our family ability, the process of using it, the different stages of the family ability and how it felt using it. Our family ability was weather manipulation, allowing each of our family members to create different weather phenomenons. My grandfather could create thunderclouds, dad could cause rain, Alaric can create hail and frost and mom could create winds. Grandma and Vivian didn’t have the weather manipulation family ability, since it was from my grandfather’s lineage. Come to think of it, I’m not sure what their family ability was, maybe I could ask them later.

  Luckily for us, it was getting dark, less questions will be asked if the weather only changes over our house. If I manage to pull this off. I took a deep breath and concentrated. I imagined water droplets rising into the air, forming clouds and then falling as rain. I imagined the water rising again, forming clouds and falling as snow, then hail, and then I imagined thunderclouds in the sky. I imagined feeling the cold winds against my skin, the humidity in the air and the sound of lightning crackling in the sky. With the vivid nightmares I have had over the years, imagining things like this was child’s play. As I imagined these things over and over, my mind went else where, back to cornering Victor in that alleyway, and what I did after. I could still taste his blood in my mouth, which made the blood bags I have been drinking tastes stale in comparison. Could still feel his blood flowing down my throat and the feeling of my fangs piercing his neck.

  *Rumble*

  *Pitter-Patter*

  I could hear the sound of thunder, feel the rain on my skin, hear the drops crash into the ground and smell blood in the air.

  “CHRISSY!!!” I heard my mom shout my name and I opened my eyes and looked towards the source of her voice. Everyone was standing on veranda of the house, and I I could see red rain drops, blood, falling from the sky. I could hear a faint sizzling sound as it hit the ground.

  “Chrissy get out of there now!!” Mom shouted and I quickly joined them on the veranda

  “What’s wrong?” I asked, looking at their slightly pained expressions

  “First of all, congratulations on using your family ability for the first time. Unfortunately, whatever it is you caused to rain from the sky burns like hell.” Vivian said and I could see holes along with blood all over her clothes.

  *Sizzle*

  “Is it burning through the roof?” I asked

  “Everyone, inside now.” Dad said and all of us rushed into the house

  “That thing can burn through metal, good to- FUCK OUR CARS!!!” Alaric shouted and I looked out the door to look and the cars and I could see the rain burning through the tires and eating away at the metal.

  “Chrissy, you should probably turn it off before the rain burns through the entire house.” Mom said

  “How do I do that?” I asked and mom looked at me with a baffled look

  “Just imagine the storm clouds dispersing.” Mom said and immediately started imagining. Wouldn’t want all my clouds to be destroyed now would I? The thunder clouds in the sky soon dispersed and the rain stopped falling.

  “Sorry about, ruining all your clothes.” I apologized awkwardly, looking at everyone who was covered in blood with clothes filled with clouds. Everyone looked at each other, before my grandfather ran towards and gave me a huge hug, lifting me into the air and laughing like a madman.
