Grab the popcorn, let’s watch the chaos unfold.

I leave the death knights with my new servant since I don’t really need them if Momonga and Albedo are going to be nearby anyway. Plus he’s kinda valuable. I just told him to stay with the death knights and sprinted for perhaps the first time in this world. I did not expect the world to screech in pain. Without applying buffs to myself I’m a little slower than a specialised assassin css should be since I have divine casting to make up for that shortfall. Also it’s day so my stats are kinda pathetic for a level 100, even under my aura of night. I have ways to compensate for this of course because despite being unbeatable at night there are some bosses that can only be hunted during the day.

Still what I did not expect was to cause a crater beneath my feet and a sonic boom to radiate into my surroundings. That’s not stealthy at all. Trees were ripped from their roots but my hearing remained intact and I passed the dust cloud in the blink of an eye.

Slowing down drastically but continuing to run I look at the clear destruction caused by just sprinting in a weakened state. The fire’s spread further now. It might have something to do with sending several trees quite literally flying into a forest fire. Also the death knights are sprinting into the crater. The idiots seem to have taken Momonga’s order of ‘protect me’ very seriously and are now attempting to follow me despite my trying to be inconspicuous. I’ll have to try something else then. My body is engulfed in shadow and underneath it begins to morph as two rge appendages extend from my back. I feel them connect to my mind and it is incredibly odd.

I ignore the sensation though and use those newly created appendages to fly into the sky. Even with the unknowable a patch of darkness in the sky is going to be noticeable though. So I fly exceptionally high, to the point I’m inside one of the clouds and thankfully don’t feel the chill thanks to undead resistance.

Now that I’m up here my new eyes are more than good enough to see even what’s happening below me with a bit of encouragement. ‘See-through’. It’s a pretty common spell especially in the game where everyone was lying about their health points with some spell or another. It’s not just for seeing through magical concealment though. The clouds turn transparent before me and I get a really nice view of the vilge being assaulted by hoity toity knights carrying oh so big swords. Well that’s what they think anyway.

Now that I’ve got what I wanted from the knights I’m just here to watch the show. You know what, fpping my wings is tiresome. ‘Night’s familiars’ My shadow expands and a pitch bck bat crawls out on cw and talon before fttening out in the air still fpping it’s wings. I take my throne and grab at empty air.

The next moment a cocktail gss is in my hands and it’s edges are stained with a red liquid all vampire enthusiasts are familiar with. I slurp as the show begins. Momon chose the most obvious entrance he physically could have as he barges through the vilge gate with sheer force. Hehe bet Albedo’s a bit miffed he did it himself. She stalks in behind him with bardiche brandished, her chin up and her gaze lowering to meet those of the vilgers or the knights. She doesn’t discriminate. Luckily the hearing of a vampire is even better than their sight so I get all the juicy bckmail material I need when Momon shouts. “Cease this sughter immediately. I Momon shall stop your plots in their tracks and all who oppose me shall meet my bde.”

“Ahhahahahahahahahahahah.” I roll around on my familiars back causing it to shift and adjust as giggles erupt from me in true joy. If the familiar’s shifting caused me to smack it in the head, that’s it’s own fault. Even that didn’t manage to dampen my spirits though as I continue ughing at the stupidity of it all. “Meet my bde!” I imitate the deep voice. It sends me into another fit of giggling and I almost fall off but the familiar learned it’s lesson this time and ensured it was stable enough I didn’t.

Below me the world continued to move. Unfortunately I couldn’t pause the world just to u- wait I totally could… Nah Momon would be immune and go high alert, he’s paranoid like that. Once I’d finished ughing though things had really started to heat up back down on the surface.

Hoity toity knights don’t take kindly to those sort of threats so several surrounded Momon with swords drawn and stances firm in their metal armour. There was caution though. They seemed to be looking over his armour and realising it’s valuable which either meant skill or money. Unfortunately it also attracted idiots. “This man is in the way of the mission. Kill him and take that armour immediately it is utterly impossible he could lift those swords.” One man among the knights bellowed.

None too kind gnces followed. Huh, so he wasn’t all that well-liked among his men which means with a little finesse Momon could totally destroy their will to fight. Still the knights do at least follow orders.

One man swings at Momon’s back aiming for the gaps between his shoulder ptes. The swing is good but I yawn. Honestly even the area guardians could move faster even if they were under Victim’s debuff. Momon thinks so too apparently. He picks up a sword from his back and before the man could so much as begin to register that, his sword is snapped like a toothpick. The aftershock of the swing is enough to blow him away like a toy soldier. He crashes to the ground and the cnking of his armour are all that alerts the knights he’s been taken down.

They all pause, except Momon who stands in their centre and beckons them to come to him with his sword. The moment even one of them steps forward though, someone’s had enough. I had been wondering when she’d get tired of sitting and watching but Albedo finally slices the neck of the knight who stepped forward. The metal pting crumpled like cardboard.

“Milord, these lower lifeforms do not deserve to even hold weapons in your presence let alone wield them.” Albedo growls. Honestly I agree but has she even thought about the cover I gave them not so long ago? No matter how regal the queen, humans don’t call each other lower lifeforms. I mean Momon can totally smooth this over if he tries hard enough but you’re making him work for it and that is not how you get someone to turn your way. Well, not in this specific instance anyway.

“Remember why we are here.” He mutters and only those with supernatural hearing pick it up which includes Albedo because she flinches. “Yes. Scum like this is hardly worth my time. Al- Allie. Sughter these worthless wretches while I attend to the vilgers for their pain is far more important.”

Good that he recovered so well. The situation was serious enough that I don’t ugh at him this time as a gesture of respect for that impressive save. I still remembered the line for ter teasing though. Once he’s said that though I get to enjoy the sight of the knights being thoroughly dismantled by Albedo. One even begged to be spared for money. It’s a surprisingly good survival instinct of the rich and corrupt but if you piss people off enough money is kinda useless. Albedo looked like she wanted to lecture him. In the end though she just ended his life like she did all the others before turning back to stalk the victim of her love.

The man himself was pacifying the vilgers. “My name is Momon and I have come here from distant nds. You may think of us as simir to adventurers as this is how we pn to make our living in this nd but I simply stumbled upon your vilge under attack.”

Obviously a story like that didn’t make them any less wary. “I also saw some noble personages among your number and I am certain we could come to a beneficial arrangement for saving your lives.” That did the job. I don’t really want Momon coming off as a money grubber or someone who will suck up to nobles but Satorou’s got the charisma to pull this off. What he’s saying and his actions in their eyes are pretty different. Somehow he made it more of a ‘we’re helping you lot and the nobles are a bonus’ rather than the opposite way around. Honestly it’s an impressive natural talent.

Solution steps forward from among the hostages though I am curious if she really let herself get captured. “Of course you will be compensated. Our dy will be more than willing to pay for your effort to save our lives.” Here comes my part.

“Don’t speak on my behalf unless you have express permission Solution.” My voice comes from right next to every vilger’s ear at once. Then shadows coalesce into a certain pale woman next to a vilge house and unfortunately I have to de-activate my aura of night. Thankfully it’s gone evening. I took my pick of the many shadows cast by the remaining intact buildings as I stand in perfect posture just as I might at one of father’s ‘networking parties’. Then I realise I still have the cocktail gss in hand. Deciding it adds to the look I simply take a sip from the gss as I gaze at Solution with calcuted coldness.

All eyes turn to face me and I give them my business smile. Solution bows immediately hiding her completely bnk face from everyone present as she says “My humblest apologies Mistress.”

“As you should be.” I ignore her and turn my eyes towards Momon and his ‘party’. I didn’t actually notice Narberal or Sebas but they are here. Behind Albedo’s massive full-pted form though they look very much like servants with their robe and suit respectively. “You want a fitting reward for saving my employee’s lives perhaps you even think you deserve it?” I peer into his eyes with the stare. If you drain enough emotion from your posture, gaze and facial expression staring can actually be a weapon in and of itself. Momon looks like he’s about to crack.

Before he does I quickly move on. “A fair reward it is then for let it not be known that I am an unfair mistress.” I fsh my canines quickly. Momon might have been surprised for a moment but thankfully his undead nature masks it. Yes, I know what I’m doing.

It seems like some of the vilgers noticed because I see some of them take steps away from the members of the Pleiades or send them gnces. I meanwhile reach my hand into the air and pull. Then I toss the ivory white fangs on a string at Momon who catches them in a gauntleted hand staring at them oddly. To him these are probably useless. “If you ever find yourself in the same situation as my employees those will make sure that situation is no more. Along with anyone who caused it.”

“Now.” I cp my hands and all attention returns to me at the sharp sound. “Solution, Entoma, Lupisregina it’s time you come back home and expin exactly why you needed help.” They all bow before moving to stand behind me.

The crowd parts in front of them and I don’t even think some of them notice they’re doing it. “Since I’m being nice” I begin “Perhaps you should be aware that this little incident is a trap of the Sne theocracy. It would be such a waste if you had to use my little gift immediately.” I put a hand over my mouth and start giggling. With my aura of night spreading in my surroundings the sound comes from multiple locations again.

Then I appear some distance from the vilge where the majority of our forces were arrayed. “No I do not intend to reprimand you.” I told the portion of the Pleiades I had sent on to investigate the vilge. “Well done. I shall call for you again soon but for now you are free to roam as you please so long as no attention is drawn to this location.”

Now assuming Momon is going to handle whatever else the Sne Theocracy throws at him I think there’s a need to get my own form of retribution. They didn’t know my servants were there. Doesn’t matter in the eyes of the world at rge though so I need to send a message of some sort. I hear footsteps approaching the camp. Looking over I spot the three newest minions tottering along towards me dutifully following me or Momon’s orders. I look at each of them. My lesser vampire is of course pathetically weak and likely only worth a couple of the human soldiers. Especially since the sun is still around.

Momon’s death knights though are around level 40 and probably could have taken on those knights by themselves. Not going to do much to an entire country though. Also momon wanted to keep the one that was attached to a corpse and there’s no way I’d be able to tell which is which.

Whatever. “Send the minions back through a gate and keep only a token stealth force here to keep an eye on Momon’s activities.” I order and the pops get to work immediately. I guess I should get some eyes on the Sne Theocracy before anything else then I can decide how my ‘revenge’ should be pyed out. “Get me some stealth troops.” Actually I need to know where the pce is so as the lesser vampire is about to step through the gate I order him to give me directions.

Once he’s expined all he knows about the nearby official Theocracy locations I send him through the gate while the stealth troops line up before me. “Infiltrate the Sne Theocracy. Retreat if you’re caught but if you can’t then I should not have to reiterate standard protocol. Tell me about anyone in an official position.”

With that a number of near invisible ants, ninja csses and even snake heteromorphs all head towards the Theocracy. I’m not quite done though. ‘Night’s familiars.’ This time I don’t just create one big bat but watch as a swarm climbs out of my shadow. Pitch bck forms gre with crimson eyes. Some are covered in fur, some fp their wings and others scuttle along the floor silently but together they form a bck mass that slowly grows as I feed it. “Go.” I tell them.

Silently they advanced behind the stealth troops and I consider that the beginning of my revenge on the Theocracy. That settled it’s time to watch Momon again.
