Chapter 6 – The Midnight Duel

The Arena of Titans, the Colosseum was alive. Thousands of students filled the seats, their voices blending into a thunderous roar. Arcadia never slept, and a Ranked Duel between an Unranked and a Titan Warrior? That was the kind of event that drew a crowd. Batman stood in the center of the stone battlefield, his cloak flowing behind him like a shadow. Across from him, Gigachad Maximillion cracked his knuckles, grinning with the confidence of a man who had never lost. Above them, a floating golden sigil shone brightly—the System’s official approval of the duel.

[Ranked Duel: Batman (Rank 4812) vs. Gigachad Maximillion (Rank 101)]

  [Victory Rewards: +500 Rank Increase]

  [Defeat Penalty: -1000 Rank Drop]

Batman’s eyes flicked to the reward. A 500-rank climb. Not enough. If he wanted to reach the top, he’d have to take bigger risks. Gigachad grinned. “You ready for this, bat-boy?” Batman didn’t respond. He was already analyzing everything—the terrain, the distance, the opponent’s stance. Gigachad’s size meant he was slower. His Titan-Css strength meant brute force. His arrogance? A weakness. The problem? Gigachad was an Apextier fighter. Batman would need more than strategy to survive.

The Fight Begins as the golden bell rang. The duel had begun. Gigachad moved first. The ground shattered beneath him as he unched forward, his speed shocking for his size. His fist, the size of a boulder, came crashing down—aiming to turn Batman into paste. Batman dodged. Barely. The force of the impact sent cracks through the Colosseum floor, dust and debris exploding outward. If that had connected, he would’ve died instantly. Gigachad chuckled. “Fast. But let’s see how long you can keep dodging.” Batman narrowed his eyes. He wasn’t pnning to dodge forever.

Gigachad came at him again, each attack faster than expected, stronger than expected. But Batman wasn’t just avoiding—he was learning. Every step, every move. Calcuting. Adjusting. Then, he saw it.

  The opening.

Gigachad’s style relied on overwhelming force—but force came with momentum. If Batman could shift that momentum… The next punch came.

  Batman stepped in.

  Not back. In.

Gigachad’s eyes widened as Batman grabbed his wrist mid-swing, twisting his entire body to redirect the force. The result? Gigachad was sent crashing into the ground. The arena erupted.

  Gasps.

  Cheers. Laughter.

An Unranked had thrown a Titan.

Gigachad groaned, standing up. Then—he grinned. “Now this… this is fun.” Batman’s jaw clenched. He knew. The real fight was just starting. ---
