Midas is a man who has been subjected to horrific experiments by the Black Rose, a secret organization. After years of confinement for being considered a “failed weapon,” he manages to escape with the help of Briar, a creature who feeds on blood. Although Briar usually sees others as prey, things are different with Midas—she considers him her friend.
