Chapter 28: Inlaws

The Crocell family’s entrance hall was nothing short of grand. T ns of obsidian stone supported a vaulted ceiling adorned with intricate carvings of swirling, moving waves aernal illusion of rushing water. Magical orbs suspended in the air cast a cool, pale light, illuminating the space with ahereal glow. Every inch of the hall well it was hopelessly outdated… But it robably meant as a reminder of the Crocell family's deep roots in the Underworld.

“This is it,” Daphtered quietly, her tone unreadable. “Home.”

Harry looked up at the fortress—Crocell Castle—its t spires reag toward the false sky like the fingers of some a, fotten god. The bck stone walls were imposiched with glowing ruhat pulsed faintly with demoniergy. It felt alive, as though the castle itself were watg them approach.

“So, this is Crocell Territory,” Luna said softly, her voice thoughtful. "It feels... old. There’s magic here, but it’s different from what I’ve felt before.”

Daphne nodded, her gaze fixed ahead. “The Crocell family has been here sihe Underworld’s earliest days. Our power es from water, ice, and the manipution of the elements.”

Harry couldn’t help but be intrigued by that. "Water and ice? So, you're elemental devils?"

“Something like that,” Daphne replied, though there was a faint tension in her voice. "Not everyone in my family is thrilled about... outsiders.”

“Geometry, Liberal Sces, warm bodies of water, Illusions, and natrual baths.” Luna corrects

Valeria scoffed, her draiaures briefly fshing annoyance. “Your family will have to deal with it, Daph. It’s not like they have a choice. Harry and Luna are here, and that’s that.”

Harry exged a look with Luna, who simply shrugged. “It’ll be fine,” she whispered to him. “We’ve faced worse.”

As they approached the massive gates of the castle, two figures emerged. One was a tall, imposing man with striking bck hair and ice-blue eyes that practically glowed in the dim light. The other was a woman, elegant and regal, her long silver hair casg down her back. Both of them carried themselves with an air of authority that made it clear they were not to be trifled with.

“Mother. Father,” Daphne said stiffly, ing to a stop before them.

The man—Daphne’s father—gazed down at them with cold iy, his eyes lingering on Harry and Luna. “So these are the ones you’ve brought,” he said, his voice deep and anding. “A human(?) and...” He paused, narrowing his eyes at Luna. “What are you?”

Luna simply smiled, her eyes twinkling. “HI! I’m Luna.”

Daphne and Harry Jumped a little as Miss Crocell Screamed.

Evelyn turned around w how Luna had suddenly appeared behind her, wizard wards were ohing but the fact that this blonde girl had gotten through her family’s magid devil wards is scary.

“What in the—how did you—?!” Evelyn stammered, her usual regal demeanor faltering.

Daphne and Harry exged bewildered gnces. Luna, for her part, simply tilted her head, her smile bright and i, as if she hadn’t just bypassed yers of magic desigo prevent such things.

“Oh, don’t mind me,” Luna said cheerfully. “I have a habit of going pces I’m not supposed to be. It's a gift.”

Evelyn’s icy blue eyes narrowed in suspi. “No one, and I mean no one, bypasses the Crocell wards without notice. Even devils of the highest caliber would struggle.”

Luna’s smile didn’t waver, though her gaze grew distant for a moment, as though she were lost in thought. “Wards are tricky. They guard against what you expect—but I’m not quite something you’d expect, am I?”

Daphne’s father, a t man of intense preseepped forward, his eyes narrowing as they scrutinized Luna with more focus. “What are you?” His voice was low, filled with restrained power and curiosity.

Luna blinked, her eyes meeting his unflingly. “I’m Luna Lovegood, princess of the night, daughter of Equestria, and seer of dreams. Although I prefer just Luna.”

The Fake Moon outside suddenly shihrough causing luna to turn into a shadow as her wings were fyed out and her horn could be seen against the moon light.

As Luna spoke, the soft glow of the artificial moon filtered through the high windows of the Crocell castle, casting long shadows across the entrance hall. In that moment, something shifted—ahereal presence filled the room, making the already cool air feel charged with a magic. The light behind Luna caused her silhouette to stretch, and as her wings unfurled gracefully, they cast a majestic shadow, her horn now clearly visible in the pale light. It was as if the very essence of the night itself had ehe hall.

The servants in the room gasped, some instinctively stepping back, their wide eyes refleg the glowing aura that now surrounded Luna. The se was surreal—an image that looked straight out of the bedtime stories whispered to young devil girls throughout the Underworld. The Princess of the Night, standing right before them.

Harry sighs and shakes his head, Luna was just having fun.

first time. His icy-blue eyes locked onto Luna’s shadowed form, uo mask his astonishment. “Impossible,” he whispered, his voice barely audible over the stunned silen the room.

Evelyn, equally awestruck, gnced between her husband and Luna, her mind rag to prehend the spectacle before her. “The stories... they were real?” she muttered under her breath, eyes fixed on Luna’s horn and wings.

While the rest of the room remained paralyzed by Luna’s dispy, Harry made his way casually over to her side. He had seen this sort of rea before—Luna had a way of leaving people speechless, whether she was trying to or not.

Standing beside her, Harry gently tilted her head up towards his. “Dear, could you please stop b the mortals?” he said with a smile, his toeasing but warm.

Without waiting for a response, Harry leaned down and kissed her softly. As their lips met, the ethereal glow of the moonlight around Luna faded, and the room’s lightiuro normal. The magical pressure that had filled the space lifted, leaving the Crocell family and their servants blinking as if waking from a dream.

Luna giggled quietly, her wings folding baeatly. “I wasn’t b them,” she said, her eyes twinkling mischievously. “Just introdug myself.”

Harry chuckled, shaking his head. “Sure, Luna.”

Daphne, who had been watg the whole se with a mixture of exasperation and relief, finally found her voice. “I told you they’re... different,” she said to her parents, her tone dry but affeate.

Cypress, regaining his posure, cleared his throat, though he still looked a bit shaken. “Different is an uatement,” he muttered, his sharp gaze shiftiween Harry and Luna.

“Who are you to call us moral’s Human?” A servant shouts

“OUT!” Daphne suddenly interrupts pointing at teh entrance hall while giving a death gre to the servant.

Cypress’s brow furrowed, the tension in the room thiing again as the servant's voice rang out. “Who are you to call us mortals, human?” The question was charged, clearly filled with indignation.

Daphne, sensing the brewing flict, whipped around to face the offending servant, her eyes narrowing into a fierce gre. “OUT!” she shouted, pointing toward the grarance hall with an authority that brooked nument. Her voice echoed through the vast space, sending a clear message that insubordination would not be tolerated.

The servant’s mouth snapped shut, caught off guard by Daphne's sudden outburst. They hesitated for a brief moment, their bravado defting under her intense gaze, before quickly bag away, mumbling an apology as they retreated from the room.

“Surprise!” Luna excimed, her voice bubbling with delight.

Daphne jumped slightly, as Luna hugged her from behind grinning widely. The tension in her shoulders eased a fra as she chuckled, shaking her head. “Luna! You really o stop doing that!”

Cypress raised an eyebrow, a mix of amusement and disbelief crossing his features. “Is this normal behavior for a ‘princess’?”

Evelyn watched with a soft smile, her maternal instincts kig in. “I think it’s charming,” she said, her eyes sparkling with warmth.

She could tell that Luna and Harry greatly cared for Daphne.

“So Mother Father, Dinner?” Daphne asks looking towards her parents
