I got ran over by a truck and reincarnated. How cliche. Let me expin.

  My name is Tairou, and I worked at a bck company. I left for work at 7 am and only returned home at 3 am. I was sleep-deprived every day, and only got days off when my supervisor was sick.

  One day, I saw a kid about to get run over by a truck. I pushed the kid away and got ran over.

  ’How cliche. If there’s a god, they’d better reincarnate me in a pce where I don’t have to do anything.’ Those were the st thoughts I had.

  I woke up in a hospital bed. For a second a thought I survived. Then, I saw a Chansey next to me. It looked really real, so I tried to touch it.

  I realised two things. One: My hand was really small, and Two: Chansey is really fluffy.

  I was a hardcore Pokemon fan when I was young. Pyed every Pokemon game on the switch. Still enjoy the game to today, 30 years after the Switch was released. So I immediately knew.

  This world is perfect for me!

  I could dictate the every type matchup from memory, I knew the types of every single Pokemon, and I remembered the animations for most moves.

  I could tell I was in Paldea due to the slightly warm air around me. It was quite comfortable.

  My time as a child was nice. Just some training, but unfortunately I wasn’t allowed to catch Pokemon just yet.

  Time passed, and that’s how I got here.

  I’m now 14 years old, and my name is still Tairou. I’m currently attending a Pokemon school in Paldea called Uva academy. It took me a ridiculous amount of study to get in, but it was worth it.

  Why?

  Because if I graduated from there, I’d be guaranteed to have a nice life!

  When I entered school, the Director gave me a choice of three starters. Fuecoco, Sprigatito and Quaxly. Remember the days when I pyed Pokemon Scarlet, I picked Fuecoco.

  Since the Uva Academy was in Pokemon Violet, I expected to hear gossip about someone with a purple cyclizar soon, and I did.

  A boy named Florian, who recently joined the school, appeared with a purple cyclizar he rode on.

  While this was shocking to most people, what shocked me more was how nasty Florian was.

  In the game, Florian was a person who helped people with their requests and joined forces with Arven, Nemona and Penny to deal with problems across the Paldea region.

  However, this Florian was a foul-mouthed brat with a bad attitude.

  He lorded the fact that he had an unknown pokemon over everyone. Even Nemona, Arven and Penny stayed away from him. Even worse, he saw Team Star members coercing a student and helped them. I immediately felt a strange sensation in my stomach.

  Wait, who the hell is going to stop Professor Turo from letting Paradox pokemon run wild then?

  In the games, Professor Turo or Sada (depending on which version you pyed) activated a Time Machine to summon paradox pokemon, and the protagonist, Juliana or Florian, stopped them using Miraidon or Koraidon.

  However, they first needed to clear all three storylines before they could fight the Professor. And since the ones who handed out these storylines were avoiding him, it was honestly quite troublesome.

  Well, not that it’s my problem. If the paradox pokemon are unleashed, I still remember their type matchups and approximate levels. If push comes to shove, I can defend my family just right. The rest of the Paldea region don’t matter.

  At least, that was my pn

  After I enrolled, the Treasure Hunt would begin, letting us get out of school to ‘find our own treasure’. Basically a giant independent field trip. However, before that, there was a Pokemon battle competition. This wasn’t in the game, so I was quite pleasantly surprised.

  Florian, of course, was the favourite to win. However, I hadn’t been scking off.

  During free time, I had been out catching various Pokemon. In fact, I’d even gotten my hands on a gimmighoul, which I pnned to evolve. As of now, my team was made up of Bell the Fuecoco, Richie the Gimmighoul, Formu the Cyclizar, Dracon the Magikaro (who was just sitting in the back until it evolved) and my ace.

  Shine, the Naclstack. You see, one day I was off training up Formu when I saw a strangely coloured Nacli. It was a shiny, considerably browner than its non-shiny counterpart. If normal Nacli was rock salt, this was definitely brown sugar. It was quite sweet too. It helped cure some ham I bought from the grocery store. Eventually, it just evolved, becoming the second strongest member on my team.

  With this team, I quickly dismantled most people. However, I wasn’t confident I could beat Florian. After all, if he had trained his pokemon, I definitely couldn’t beat him.

  His first Pokemon was spirgatito, so I sent out Bell. A few embers ter, and sprigatito went down.

  His second Pokemon was a Nacli, which defeated Bell with a well-pced rock type move. It seemed Florian knew his type matchups as well as I did. Well, time to up the pace then.

  My second Pokemon was Naclstack. I had taught it Bulldoze via a TM a few days ago in preparation, so it quickly defeated Florian’s Nacli with a super effective ground type attack to the face.

  I expected him to send out another pokemon, but he didn’t.

  ’How could you beat all of my pokemon? I should be the strongest!’

  Ah, he only had two pokemon. That was underwhelming. I had five.

  According to the Professor, only the top trainers could use more than 3 pokemon, so I’m gd I didn’t have to use all of them, but still.

  ’Fine then. Miraidon, go and attack them!’

  He sent out Miraidon? It shouldn’t be able to battle.

  ’Hey, I don’t think it can fight.’

  ’Shut up! Miraidon, if you don’t fight right now, I’m trapping you in your pokemon for the next week!’

  I could hear audible gasps from around us, hearing this cruel treatment of Pokemon. I could feel my blood boiling.

  ’Fine then. I’ll defeat Miraidon and stop your treatment of it.’

  ’Ha, you can’t possibly do that? Miraidon’s an unknown pokemon! Only I know how strong it is!’

  Miraidon entered Ultimate Form, seemingly in pain.

  ’Don’t worry. I’ll stop him. Shine, use Bulldoze!’

  Miraidon is an Electric-Dragon type, so this super effective hit was quite damaging. However, Florian didn’t seem to notice.

  ’Miraidon, attack!’

  I saw Miraidon start its charge-up for Electro Drift. I had seen this so many times, I knew exactly how to dodge it.

  ’Shine, the moment it charges at you, move upwards and to the side!’

  With this, Shine narrowly avoided the Electro Drift.

  ’How dare you… why are you missing Miraidon! Keep attacking!’

  ’Keep repeating what I told you to do, Shine!’

  Electro Drift has a maximum of five uses without the use of PP ups, so I steadily counted them.

  Two.

  Three.

  Four.

  Five.

  Now was my chance.

  ’Shine, use Salt Cure!’

  Miraidon was salt cured. Salt Cure removes 1/8th of the target’s health every time they attack in the game, but here it simply did damage slowly. In the game, Naclstack would have lost before it could attack, but since this was the real world and not a game, I could help Naclstack dodge every attack with thorough advice and have it attack at the perfect time.

  ’Miraidon, why did you stop! Keep attacking!’

  Florian screamed at the top of his lungs. How foolish.

  ’Can’t you see you’ve already lost? It can’t use that attack anymore. And now, all I have to do is slowly wait for it to lose all its HP.’

  ’How… how dare you do this to me?’

  ‘It was really simple. A competent trainer gives out exact commands. I didn’t even have to use Formu or Richie.’

  It was then that I realised.

  Wait, those three are going to turn to me for help now, right?

  A few days ter, a delivery arrived in front of my dorm. Inside it was a pokeball, with a note from Professor Turo. ‘I believe you are more suited to caring for Miraidon than Florian. Please help take care of it. Regards, Turo.’

  I knew it. I just derailed the main story didn’t I.

  Thus began the Treasure Hunt, and immediately, I got a call from Cassiopeia (also known as Penny).

  ’Would you like to defeat Team Star with me?’

  Of course, Arven invited me to beat the Titans and Nemona invited me to do the Gym Challenge.

  Why was this happening to me?!
