Chapter 63: Memories.
*Ria’s POV*
Though it was many years ago, I’ve always had a very good memory. I first came to this dimension, when it was very young. Despite the people of it being very basic, I was able to find some joy in being a Goddess to them.
I was never oo stick around, though. Frankly, the only reason I stayed in this dimension, was because I found nothing iing in any other dimension. Granted, eae was basically the same as this one. If it wasn’t, then it was inhabited by beings just like me.
Sino one ever caught my eye, I ayed in one pce for very long. As such, I was given many names by the inhabitants of this dimension. They would soon call themselves humans. A very oddly fitting name, I’d say.
I always found it funny, how in different dimensions with other races, such as elves, and demons, just to name a few, there will be racism. But somehow, even with only one humanoid race being around, racism still existed in this dimension. Even though the differences lie only in the color of their skin, or from what try they hail from.
One of my friends, she was very ied in studying pretty much everything that she saw. Before, I didn’t really uand why she bothered to do such things, but as I watched these humans, I finally realized why.
It was fun. To a certaient. It made me realize why her beings would spend so much time creating, and managing their own dimensions…
After a few hundred years of being a Goddess to them, rather than be worshiped as a Goddess for longer, I decided to work in the shadows, and little by little, advahese people. With only a few nudges here and there. Though, I am sure that there were other beings like me, roaming this dimension, and doing the same things.
Eventually, it came to a point where they were very advanced. Most of them didn’t even believe in beings like me. Which was something I found to be even more eaining. I would mih these mortals, and they wouldn’t even know what I actually was.
Their method of ID, was very easy te as well. So I would go from try to try, and live in each for a few years or more. Just depending on how eaining said try ended up being.
Though, with such adva, all it brought me was boredom. Due to their teology, wars were a rare thing. And evehey were small, mostly petty wars. My only soce, was the various forms of media that the humans created. I do not know which higher being created such creatures, but they surely gave them wonderful imaginations.
It was a drought for many years, but ier years of this civilization, there existed many stories about retioween women. Which were my favorite to experience.
Despite trying many times, I could never find a woman that ied me. They all looked like children to me. What’s worse, is that they would rarely live past 80 years of age. Not even making it close to an age where I would call them an adult…
As the peace grew ever longer, I found my will to stay in this dimension grow smaller day by day. That was, until various higher beings ihis dimension. Though I did try to save this dimension, it was just impossible for me to do so. Even for a being as powerful and as a as me.
It didn’t take long for most of this dimension to be pletely destroyed. But, from the ashes, rose a new world. The invaders got bored of fighting each other, and after thousands of years, this dimension reflected that of a fantasy world. Simir to ones depicted in the books and other forms of media in this world.
The key thing, was fantasy races, and magic. These are the requirements to meet long lived beings. It took a very, very long time to find a woman that I was ied in. That being Amelie. Frankly, I was quite tent just waiting for her to mature.
Though, rather than hide what I was, I told everything to Amelie. She said that she would never be with me, but nowadays, whenever she is around me, I feel that she yearns for me, and maybe even my touch.
Amelie is a stubbirl, so she would never admit to having feelings for me. I was just happy to find a bride after living for so long. As such, I hought to look for another woman to marry. That was, until Amelie brought home a certain girl…
Like with Amelie, I was taken by her at first sight. I already khat I would make her my bride one day, just like Amelie. It was just a shame that I had to wait a loime for her to mature, than that of Amelie.
People that had access to a System, which was basically just the higher beings pying around, they never really amouo much. Sure, they were reinated, so they had memories of a modern world, and they used said memories to ge this one.
But what they did, was meaningless, pared to what a higher being like me could do. For some unknown reason, none of us meddle in this dimension much at all. The biggest and most on overreach, was taking a lost soul, and reinating them here with a System.
Even then, Celia was different from her predecessors. Like Amelie, she felt special. As if this dimension pced great importance upon her, for some reason.
I wao take a different approach with her. Just being a trustful maid, and only revealing what I truly was, when she was of age. But, Celia was far too clever. And my desires for her were to for me to hold back.
As such, one night, I embraced her. Which was something that I’d never even doh Amelie. Though, I did pn on just erasing her memory, but then she asked me to stop listening in ohoughts.
I thought that pying a game with her for it would be fun, so I proposed a game, and a bet. Even if she lost, I wouldn’t have tried to cim my reward; instead, I was just going to erase her memory of that night.
Against all the odds, Celia guessed my first name from when I first showed up to the people of this world. It might have been pure luck, but I felt as if we were ected in some way… Have we actually met before, and I just didn’t remember?…
