Champ's POV
Jiggs let out a strangled cry as his body colpsed onto the cold, unyielding floor.
Blood trickled from his nose, his skin growing paler by the second. His lips trembled, drained of life, and his body convulsed under an unseen force—Silver's presence.
I lunged toward him, desperation burning in my veins. My hands reached for his limp form, determined to pull him away, to save him.
But then—it hit me.
The weight of Silver's presence crashed into me like an unseen wall, pressing down on my body, seeping into my very bones. My limbs grew sluggish, my breath shallow.
I could barely move.
I clenched my jaw, forcing the words out.
"Silver! Stop this! Enough!"
A slow, sinister chuckle echoed through the space.
"Enough?" Silver sneered. "Oh, no, Champ. I haven't even begun."
His eyes gleamed with wicked amusement. "I want to hear you beg. I want to see you drop to your knees, kiss my feet, and worship me as your God."
A shiver crawled up my spine.
He was toying with us. Enjoying this.
I knew words wouldn't sway him. Nothing would.
The only way to end this was to fight.
But how?
Jiggs was barely holding on, and I—I was weakening with every second.
I turned to Jiggs, my voice barely a whisper. "Jiggs, please... stay with me. Don't close your eyes. Don't give in."
Summoning what little strength I had left, I forced my body to move. I hooked my arms under his and lifted him.
My muscles screamed. My lungs burned.
But I wouldn't stop.
Silver tilted his head, watching with interest.
"Fascinating..." he mused. "You're resisting me. How? No one withstands my presence. No Omega has ever—"
My breath hitched.
He knew.
He knew what I was.
I stiffened. "How—"
Silver grinned, his teeth sharp like a predator's. "How do I know?" He took a step forward. "That's not important. What matters is that I want you. And when I take you, you will bear my child."
My stomach lurched.
I knew why he was after me.
He wanted an Omega.
And he had chosen me.
Panic cwed at my chest, but I had no time to dwell on it.
Jiggs was fading—fast. His body darkened, veins turning an unnatural bck as if something was eating away at his very existence.
I felt my heart break.
Tears blurred my vision, hot and stinging.
Fear. Despair. Rage.
But no—I refused to give up.
If Jiggs had risked everything for me, then I would do the same for him.
I wiped my tears. My arms tightened around his weakened frame.
"Jiggs... We are getting out of here."
With sheer willpower, I moved.
Silver did nothing. He simply stood there, a smirk pying on his lips.
He was letting me go.
Because he thought I wouldn't make it.
Because he knew—no one escapes him.
Watch me, Silver.
I staggered forward. One step. Then another.
I felt his gaze burning into my back. He was enjoying this, waiting for me to colpse under the weight of his presence.
But then—
"There they are!"
The air tensed.
I froze.
Out of the shadows, they appeared.
Beta males and their leaders.
From the three Alpha cns we encountered earlier.
Hunters.
Killers.
Sent to track us.
Tears welled in my eyes, but I bit them back. I couldn't afford to break. Not now.
Jiggs stirred slightly. His color was slowly—painfully—returning as we were moving away from Silver's presence.
I id him down gently.
"Jiggs... stay here. I'll handle this."
I straightened, inhaling deeply.
Silver's presence had weakened just enough for me to stand tall.
I wiped the remnants of my tears, repcing them with resolve.
I had lost too much.
I wouldn't lose again.
One of the Alpha leaders stepped forward, sneering. "You're alone. What can you possibly do against us?"
Another smirked. "Give up, and we'll make it painless."
The third chuckled darkly. "And when we're done with you... we'll take care of him." He motioned toward Silver, who still stood in the distance, watching like an amused god overseeing a game of sughter.
I exhaled slowly.
Then I grinned.
"You can try."
The moment the words left my lips—
They charged.
And I fought like hell.
They had weapons.
I had my fists.
I moved like a shadow, weaving between attacks, my body a blur of speed and instinct. Every blow I nded sent a Beta male crashing to the ground, but no matter how many I struck down, more came.
Endless. Relentless.
It was clear now—our Beta males had failed. They couldn't stop the flood of enemies closing in. We were outnumbered.
Still, I fought. I pushed forward. My breath was ragged, my muscles burning, but I refused to stop. I could take them.
At least... that's what I thought.
Until—
"Ugh! Nghh!"
Pain exploded in my leg. From an unknown distance, someone struck me with a sharp object that buried itself deep into my right thigh.
I colpsed onto one knee, my fingers cwing at the foreign object lodged in my flesh. My breath hitched.
What the hell was this?
One of the Alpha leaders stepped forward, sneering.
"That," he drawled, "is to ensure you don't run anymore. The poison will spread, numbing your leg completely. You won't be able to fight back."
Damn it.
I gritted my teeth, forcing myself to stand despite the growing numbness. My right leg was already useless—I couldn't feel it.
The Alphas closed in.
"It's over," one of them said.
I exhaled sharply.
My body screamed in protest, but I still forced myself to rise, standing on my one good leg.
But deep inside, I knew.
This was it.
The end.
I lost.
I couldn't win.
The only thing that's left to do is to get away from here.
We have to retreat.
But where?
Then, I looked at the unconscious lying figure of Jiggs.
With the remaining strength I had left, I started crawling towards him.
"Jiggs, we'll make it out alive. Stay with me, don't die..." I huffed as I tried to carry him.
Then, another sharp pain had just nded on my left thigh.
I screamed so loud that it echoed through the whole pce and that's when my body fell together with Jiggs.
They struck me with another sharp object that made my both legs numb.
That's when my body fell through the ground that made all the beta and the Alpha males smirk and ugh as they won against their prey.
And when I couldn't walk anymore, I closed my eyes, slowly and painfully thinking is this the end?
And then—
(SMASH!)
(CRACK!)
(THUD!)
The sound of bodies hitting the ground.
Not Jiggs.
Not... mine.
I opened my eyes—and my breath caught in my throat.
A storm had descended upon the battlefield.
A single figure, tearing through the enemy like they were nothing.
Limbs snapped. Blood sprayed. The once-unstoppable Alphas and their Betas fell like leaves in a storm, crushed beneath his raw, terrifying power.
My heart stopped.
"Deux..." I whispered, my voice trembling.
My legs buckled.
Not from weakness.
Not from pain.
But from relief.
I almost ughed, the sight before me so surreal.
Deux—cold, ruthless, untouchable—was wiping them out. His movements were effortless, like a predator sughtering prey. He was a force of nature, moving with deadly precision, taking down Alphas and Betas alike without a single hesitation.
His eyes...
Burning. Fierce. Unwavering.
He wasn't just fighting.
He was protecting.
Protecting me.
My heartbeat thundered against my ribs, a wild, desperate rhythm that matched the chaos around us. Blood, smoke, and the raw scent of adrenaline clung to the air. The battlefield was a storm, and Deux was the lightning tearing through it, relentless, unstoppable.
But then—
A fsh in my peripheral vision.
A Beta male—wounded, desperate, his face twisted in rage and agony. He staggered, barely standing, but his grip was steady. Too steady.
Gun with an arrow, aimed at Deux.
I didn't think.
I moved.
"DEUX! BEHIND YOU!" I screamed, voice raw, frantic.
Time warped. Slowed.
I saw the trigger pull. Heard the sharp click.
Saw the arrow release—swift, merciless—an arc of silver slicing through the air.
For one suffocating second, I thought—
This is it.
But then—
(SWOOSH!)
Deux moved.
Faster than my eyes could track. Faster than thought.
A blur. A whisper of motion.
His hand snatched the arrow mid-air—like it was nothing, like it had no weight, no threat.
And then—
Without a second of hesitation—
He threw it back.
The whistle of steel cut through the battlefield, a deadly answer to the attack.
The Beta male barely had time to react before the bde buried itself deep into his leg.
A scream.
A crash.
Then silence.
I let out a breath I hadn't realized I was holding, my entire body trembling with the aftershock. The tension in my muscles refused to fade, my nerves frayed to the breaking point.
"Deux..." I breathed, my throat tight.
He turned. His gaze—dark, unreadable—locked onto mine.
And then, in that quiet, his voice cut through everything.
"Thank you, Champ." His tone was grave. Low. Unshaken. "I'm sorry I was te." His eyes burned, unwavering. "But I'm here now. And no one—no one—is going to hurt you ever again."
My breath hitched.
Something inside me shifted.
My chest tightened. My throat dried.
I looked down at Jiggs—still unconscious beside me. Then back at Deux.
Was he serious?
Did he—?
I swallowed hard.
But there was no time to dwell on it.
Because Deux—he wasn't done.
