Confused as to why such a young vampire was standing in the doorway of her new restaurant without an invitation and before the bigger crowd, Sylvie stepped in front of Casey protectively. “You are here entirely too early, Miss Veyron. We are accepting our RSVP right now, you are welcome to return ter. Please be dressed in more than a pair of jeans and a torn leather jacket.”
“What did you do to Kody?” Casey spoke up angrily.
Looking herself over, Selene waved her hand and maintained a fanged smile. “I don’t think it will matter ter what I have on, this looks like it will be a very enticing party.” Through her scent of smell, Selene knew that she was dealing with an elder vampiress with regards to Sylvie. “I understand that you are the head of the council for the area, yes?”
“I am on the council, though our duties rotate.” She looked at Casey. “Love, take care of the guests and let me deal with Miss Veryon.” Sylvie grabbed Selene tightly around her arm and pulled her deeper into the hallway so they could speak. “What do you want?” Sylvie felt her third eye open briefly and showed her events of the st few months as she gripped Selene. Experiencing months in a matter of seconds, Sylvie blinked a couple times, her eyes shifting into bck new moons. “I see you are on the run.”
“I am. I also know now that I can’t run forever.” Selene fshed her sly smile. “I mean I could hide, until I garnered the attraction of…” She visibly shivered and made a bird shape from her hands. “From what I know, trying to hide in that case is rather pointless.”
Responding ftly, Sylvie crossed her arms. “It is.” She held up a single finger, “Though I would be more concerned with the braided blonde over there.” Sylvie casually pointed to Amber. “Blue and Teal are simir colors, so keep that in mind.” A quick shiver spanned Sylvie’s spine and she gazed up and spotted Daniel. “Really?” She ughed and then smiled at Selene. “I suspect you wish to stay in the area.”
“Can’t run forever, I was drawn by the music that was coming from the area.” Selene shook her head to get the beautiful tune out of her memory then held up her hands, “I just need a pce where I can try and figure out where I am going. I shouldn’t be here long…” Selene swallowed hard, “...I will..” Her pride seemed to swell and Selene visibly fought herself. “...do what the council asks.”
“Miss Veyron.” Sylvie escorted Selene from the building and into the open cool air of the winter night. “This isn’t the Kingdom. You can help the council if you want, but we aren’t going to force compliance.” Walking with the young vampire a little further away from the building, Sylvie pointed to the brightest lit feature in the area. “Ravenstead Manor. It is the only real safe spot left for us since ‘Heartbroken Halloween. Yes, it belongs to Doctor Moreau, but it is a light out shelter that is open to our brethren under a newborn named Amber Lane.” Sylvie patted the vampire on her back, “Come back ter in the evening and introduce yourself to the blonde with the braid I pointed out, and I am sure she can get you settled in.” Sylvie turned on her heels, “It is a New Year, after all. A new beginning?”
With another handshake, Selene’s terracotta eyes bzed with inherent suspicion. “That will be great, thank you Elder Miakoda. I will take my leave…but…one final question, if you please?” Selene offered a half-smirk.
“Her name is Daniel Cole.” Sylvie ughed, “You are already talking like the rest of us…” Sylvie began walking off, her dress fring as she did so. “I will enjoy finding out how you learned that phrase.”
Fluidly making her way back to After Dark, Sylvie started lightly dancing to the cover music that the band had started pying. “All of our personal guests have arrived?” Sylvie gnced at her watch. “We will have to watch Selene, there is something a bit dark about her.”
Seizing the small break in their arriving guests, Casey waved for the hostess and then dragged Sylvie away and to the oval of the dance floor. “They are all here and I frankly am sick of being a trophy wife.” She giggled and grasped Sylvie around the waist. “What was that with Cisco about leaving forty-five minutes early?”
Determined to hide as much as she could about the coming surprise that she could, Sylvie calmed herself and weaved a pyful command into her response. “Casey.” Glowing with the light of a full moon, Sylvie held Casey’s cheeks close to her. “My love, I want you to put that question away and repce that inquiry with the excitement of the evening. Be a social butterfly with your mother and father. Enjoy yourself, dance…take all the blood you need without harming anyone. Practice your veil tasks.”
Excited when she heard the commanding, yet gentle voice that took her every part of her mind and body, Casey quickly acknowledged everything her partner, lover, wife and mistress commanded. With a burning and torrid whisper, Casey cooed, “By your will, Inamorata. Stars above I love you.” Casey’s honey-rich eyes glowed with excitement. “I am going to give you a kiss and float around, your little butterfly.”
“My Desire.” Sylvie whispered and felt a soft kiss on her cheek. “I’ll find you when it’s time, my Desire.”
Casually walking around and greeting folks after Daniel's speech took more time than Sylvie anticipated. Wishing everyone she could have a happy new year, it was a gnce from Cisco dancing with Jennifer that caught Sylvie's attention. Deciding that removing the commands she'd pced on Casey would garner the most attention from her lovely wife, Sylvie used the few minutes that it took Casey to attend to her by feeding off of the locals. She'd just finished helping three members of the city council to their chairs when Casey arrived. "You took your time, My Desire."
"I was only doing as..." Casey purred pyfully,"...I was ordered." Taking the time to enjoy a satisfying quench of blood for her burning throat, Casey turned her attention to a couple of townsfolk who had her attention and left them feeling euphoric. "Good night you two." Casey charmingly said to the couple. "Just remember you had a lovely time tonight."
"We certainly did, so pretty...Missus Miakoda...thank you...". The couple trailed off, then sat down with dreamy looks on their faces. Licking her lips free of the blood she'd just consumed, Casey tip-toed back to Sylvie. "I take it that it's time to leave?"
Politely as possible, Sylvie excused herself as people kept waking up and thanking her for the 'wonderful party'. After what seemed like forever, Sylvie turned to face a very cheerful and sky Casey. "I heard you. Don't look at me that way, that's your..." Sylvie giggled and slipped her fingers along Casey's cheeks. "...combustion look."
"My what?" Casey asked with a perplexed frown. "You are trying to hide something, and doing an amazing job." Casey took Sylvie's hand and waved at a few people as she dragged her wife outside. "Spill it or I fly...". With a heavenly quiver, Casey hissed through her teeth and fell into Sylvie's arms, devoid of any thought except her body tingling against its will. "So not....ohhh.." Casey gasped and rolled her eyes closed.
"That's it, my Divine. Let my silent commands tingle your body and flower petals caress your mind. All will be revealed in a little while, honey-button." Sylvie reassured and picked Casey up in a close bridal carry. "We are leaving now." Carefully Sylvie slid Casey into their limousine, and nodded at Paul.
Casually running her fingers through Casey's hair, Sylvie looked over the road that she traveled so many times before. Often it was just her and Franco ughing and discussing their upcoming night just as though they were just two normal people, not a set of vampires. This road, this path has been her unlife and she'd bought into the fantasy. "We are almost there, my Divine. Open your gorgeous golden eyes and face what you’ve influenced. Just like you've renewed me, I renewed something." Memories of that life faded into the background as Sylvie carefully helped Casey to sit up and gaze out of the window. "I had to manipute what you saw and what I did..." Sylvie felt a twinge of guilt, "...so I repced some of the truth, a greater good and goal. I wanted to surprise you."
