Chapter 27: A Party in the Making

  My peace didn't st long.

Out of nowhere, Marisa burst into the shrine, her face lit up with excitement. "Hey, Reimu! I heard you're throwing a ba!"

Reimu's eyes snapped open, and she sat up, gring at Marisa. "Where did you hear that!?"

Marisa grinned, pulling out a crumpled neer from her bag. "Right here!"

She tossed it onto the floor in front of us. The headline read: "Grand Ba the Hakurei Shrine! Celebrating the End of the Scarlet Mist I! Invite Your Friends!"

Reimu's jaw dropped, her hands trembling as she picked up the paper. "That... that Tengu!" Her face turned red with anger. "I'm going to stop her before I turn her into dinner!"

Marisa shrugged, a mischievous smile on her face. "Too te. Aya said this is the st edition. Everyone in Gensokyo's probably already seen it."

Reimu's shoulders slumped, her head hanging low. "I'm so tired of this pce... Why is everyone in Gensokyo so annoying?"

She colpsed bato the floor, her eyes hollow. "I wish another i would happen... Someone please destroy this ba before it even starts..."

Marisa's eyes gleamed with excitement. "No way! If there's gonna be a ba, I'll protect it with my name as a magi!" She looked over at me, grinning. "Hey, you wanna join?"

I blihe sudden invitation catg me off guard. "Uh... Sure, why not?"

Reimu shot up, her face red with fury. "I don't want to hear that from you two! Get out! Both of you!" She stomped over and kicked us out of the shrine, smming the sliding door shut behind us.

I dusted myself off, shaking my head. "She sure is grumpy today..."

Just as I was about to leave, the door burst open again. Reimu stood there, her face serious as she shoved a list into my hands. "Since you're so eager to help... Go buy these ingredients for the ba."

I looked at the list, seeing a long list of foods and supplies. "Wait... Where's the money?"

But before I could finish, Reimu had already flown off, moving faster than I'd ever seen her go before. I could only assume she was headed straight for Aya to give her a piece of her mind.

I stared at the list, feeling a pit form in my stomach. "How am I supposed to buy all this...?"

Marisa peeked over my shoulder, her face brightening. "Oh, I know where to get all that! The Human Vilge!"

I raised an eyebrow, trying not to ugh. "Human Vilge? That's... such a zy name."

Marisa grinned, pletely unfazed. "Well, it's full of humans, so what else would you call it?"

I couldn't argue with that logic. She hopped onto her broom, floating effortlessly in the air. ", let's go together!"

She shot off into the sky without waiting for a response. I watched her for a moment, my mind processing everything that had just happened.

  "ht... I fly too."

With a small grin, I kicked off the ground, floating up into the air before shooting off after her. The wind rushed past my face as I followed Marisa towards the Human Vilge, the list of ingredients still clutched tightly in my hand.

Somehow, I khis was only the beginning of more chaos to e.
