Chapter 4 – Fortify Health – Flames

Marcus lied down on his wooden bed in the Winking Skeever Inn.

He thought about everything that happened for the day and accepted fully that he is in this new life and understood that he needs to adapt to it.

He first listed what he knew about how things worked here.

"Alchemy taught me that it needs experience and more work than in the game."

"Just knowing recipes would not let me create more potent potions. I need to study it like in real life and level up."

"The good thing is that I know for a fact that as long as I am focusing and working, I can sense that my level is increasing and what I can and cannot do by feeling it."

"The crowdedness, size of the area, and everything are at least fifty times bigger."

"The economy is more stable and realistic and easy to handle."

"The set dialogues do not exist much, despite the characteristics and behavior of the people not changing much."

After making some notes within his mind, he slowly let himself get comfy and then slept.

When he opened his eyes, it was already morning time; he got up and washed his face in the bucket of water and then took a deep breath.

"So, I am still here," he said to himself as he smirked.

He got up and took his belongings and left the room. He sat down at one of the corner tables.

There were not many people in this morning time. Most people would go to do their work, open their shops, and do their daily errands.

A young man comes to this table with hot milk, some cheese, and bread.

He looked simir to Vinius; it must be his son, Marcus thought.

"Here is your breakfast," he said and then left him alone.

Marcus took a sip from the hot milk and used the fork to take a piece of cheese and ate it as he took a bite from the bread.

"I need to make a pn."

"For the time being, I am not sure I have enough power to go into the wilderness alone."

"Wolves, sabertooth cats, spiders, and bandits are many."

"If their number increased like the size of the cities and number of people, not to mention the distance between towns and cities, it would be dangerous for me."

"First, I need to gather more supplies and focus on simple potions that I can make and find ingredients for and sell them."

"When I have enough money, I should take a carriage to Winterhold College."

"I am already focusing on the matter of magic and the study of chim and other things."

"Arcana and knowledge bases are the most important for me."

"It does make sense to get close to Winterhold."

Marcus made some pns, and then he finished his milk and cheese and took the bread with him.

He had around four stakes on himself. He first bought himself a leather, robust shoulder bag for three Drakes and then set off, leaving the Solitude.

After he left the city, he came to an open ground.

He then started foraging; he did not focus on specific ingredients; he just picked what he saw. Due to his knowledge and specific ability to recall almost everything, there was not much of a problem understanding what he saw.

Four hours ter, he took a deep breath and nodded.

Before he left the open ground, he wanted to try something.

"I need to try Fmes' spell for a moment," he thought.

He then focused on it, and then something siphoned within himself and then transported to his hands. A second ter, from his right, fmes started burning.

It did not hurt him, but it was quite a moment to see.

  "Great feeling."

"It also radiates heat; I may use it when I feel too cold," he thought and then focused again and then started spraying fire in front of himself.

  "One second."

  "Two seconds."

  Marcus stopped after five seconds.

"I spent five magicka per second to use the fmes spell."

"I can regenerate five magicka per three to five seconds depending on my mental state."

  "Not bad."

"I can use Fmes spell for thirty seconds without stopping until my Magicka is depleted."

"If I use both my hands, I can do fifteen seconds, for using both hands increases the power of the spell..."

"Yeah, I can focus and have knowledge of it, but I don't know how to do it, due to my destruction level being too low and me not having enough experience of it."

"Anyway, it is still a good discovery."

Marcus then left to walk to Solitude again, directly to Angeline Aromatics.

This time, Marcus focused on making "Fortify Health" potions with Blue Mountain Flower and Wheat, instead of just health potions.

After he first made one of them, he noticed the color is a little off.

  "Yeah."

  "I still need more experience."

He then spent two sets of more ingredients, and then, at the fourth one, he was able to make a real "Fortify Health" potion.

Which made Angeline come to his side and look at him for a moment.

"That potion you made is much harder to make than just a Restore Health Potion."

"It seems like you do have really great talent in alchemy."

  Marcus smiled and nodded.

  Angeline then said.

"For each Fortify Health Potion you make, I can pay you two gold septims."

"I have a lot of ingredients for cheap too."

  Marcus nodded.

"Thank you," and then he made two more Fortify Health potions and then sold them to her for six septims.

He had some other ingredients, but he can feel within himself that he cannot make potions using those ingredients even if he knew what they do.

"It must mean that my experience and level in Alchemy are not enough."

"This is not like the game, but still, I need to get accustomed to that."
