CHAPTER - 156 [Past Stories Part. 1]

  CHAPTER - 156

Narrator: Dav settled more comfortably under the covers, reflecting for a moment before continuing the story.

Selene, her head still resting on his chest, was watching him closely, hanging onto every word.

The room was quiet, the only sound was the strong, steady beating of Dav's heart, and the whisper of the night filtering through the window.

Dav recounted the time he killed a rapist who was impossible to catch even for other heroes.

"This guy wasn't strong, but he was annoying enough because he flew so high and fast that it was impossible to hit him properly.

He would snatch his victims like an eagle and carry them as far away as possible where no one could hear their screams, and then kill them."

Selene, curious and enjoying the moment: "How did you find him?"

"From the description and the fact that he was always flying, it wasn’t hard to spot a guy in the sky.

How many guys do you usually see flying?

As I said, irritating in his flying skills.

At one point, a wave of fire appeared around him so that he had no escape.

  He burned alive."

Dav recounted it almost chuckling at how irritating his flying was and how simple his end turned out to be.

  Selene, still curious, asked:

"Was there anyone more complicated and difficult to eliminate?"

Dav, thinking carefully, staring into the void.

"An assassin, in the true sense of the word,"

Stolen from Royal Road, this story should be reported if encountered on Amazon.

Dav began, his voice lowering slightly, becoming more serious.

"This guy... he was one of the most skilled I had ever encountered.

He wasn't like the others, he didn’t have extraordinary powers like super strength or speed.

His strength was in his ability to hide.

He could merge with the shadows, and no one could ever find him, even using the most advanced techniques."

Selene watched him intently, eager to hear how it would turn out.

"He was a master of stealth.

You would only find him when he decided to show himself, and often he would get ahead of you, study you, and catch you by surprise."

Dav paused for a moment, the memory of those days seemed to surface with a certain intensity.

His gaze grew more intense, as if he were reliving every moment.

"His signature was always the same: whoever crossed paths with him would disappear into nothing, and no one would ever speak of that person again."

Selene couldn't tear her gaze away from Dav.

The intensity of his story had completely captured her.

"And how did he survive for so long?"

  "He was cunning,"

Dav answered in a low voice.

"he hid in a city terrorizing people at night, but the most impressive thing was that he could blend in among the people as if he were invisible.

At first, I had no idea where he was.

I couldn't use him as a target, I couldn't even sense his presence.

His power wasn’t something you could feel like an aura, like you do with normal fighters.

No, this guy was different. He moved like he was part of the environment itself."

"How did you find him, then?" Selene asked, her tone full of interest but also concern for the situation.

Dav smiled, but the smile reached his eyes.

"It was a matter of patience.

I started asking around about where he might be, where he might appear.

I was aware that such a silent shadow would never leave obvious traces, so I focused on the small things, signs that might seem insignificant but would be the key.

I listened to the wind, the movement of the leaves...

and then, when I finally understood, I found him."

Selene held her breath, fascinated by Dav's determination.

"And what happened when you found him?"

  Dav chuckled bitterly.

"It was like a game to him.

He thought he was always in control, but he hadn't reckoned with my patience.

After days of asking around, an old man in a shop told me he would only appear after midnight to kill anyone still out on the streets."

  Selene shook her head, incredulous.

"So exactly how did you do it?"

  "I wanted to be sure,"

  Dav said calmly.

"After midnight, I decided to stroll through the streets, now empty and silent.

With a bottle in hand, acting like a drunkard.

I wanted him to realize that I was just prey that he could wipe out with a single blow.

Walking down the street, I heard footsteps; of course, he wanted me to hear him coming.

Then I felt a blade approaching, trying to cut off my head from behind.

In a flash, I ducked, and slowly turned my gaze toward him.

A hooded man, all in black, without uttering a word."
