19 - Test Flight

After three days of construction, the Hyper Velocity Coaster was finally completed.

The overall track of the Hyper Velocity Coaster is relatively straight, with few curves, and the slope is also more level compared to other roller coasters. There aren't any of those 360-degree loops.

Of course, for the Hyper Velocity Coaster, these things don't matter. The ultra-high speed of 310 mph will directly max out the riders' blood pressure.

If you were to add a few sharp turns or 360-degree loops, this roller coaster should probably be renamed the Death Coaster!

"Boss, the construction of the Hyper Velocity Coaster is complete. Please sign here to finalize the procedure!"

Jake took the documents from the foreman sent by the system and signed his name.

Afterward, the entire construction team disappeared.

Before leaving, the foreman handed Jake a file folder.

Opening it, it contained various documents, including government-approved construction documents, inspection certificates, and other files.

Every time a facility is built, the system provides such a set of documents, ensuring that all amusement facilities can operate legally.

"Boss, this is our amusement park's roller coaster? It looks very ordinary!"

Three people walked up behind Jake.

They were wearing Starlight Amusement Park employee uniforms, sizing up the newly completed Hyper Velocity Coaster!

These three people were familiar faces: Mike, Ethan, and Liam, from the first group of visitors to the Death Shack!

The three of them were nearing graduation and didn't have much to do at school. They happened to see Jake's job posting and immediately decided to apply for a part-time gig.

Not many people applied to work at Starlight Amusement Park to begin with, and these three were familiar faces. Although they might not stay for too long, Jake still chose them.

Jake nodded and said, "Let's test it today. If there are no problems, we can open it to visitors tomorrow!"

"Boss, why did you think of building such a roller coaster? If you have too much money, you can give us a raise!" Liam said, puzzled.

  "What's wrong?" Jake asked.

Liam pointed to the track of the Hyper Velocity Coaster and said, "Boss, look at it yourself. Don't you think this roller coaster isn't thrilling enough?"

"Not thrilling enough?" Jake wore a strange expression. A speed of 310 mph isn't thrilling enough? Does it have to be supersonic to be thrilling?

Ethan nodded like a chick pecking rice, saying, "Other roller coasters have all kinds of vertical drops and 360-degree loops. That's what's exciting. Our amusement park's roller coaster doesn't seem to have any special highlights."

If you encounter this story on Amazon, note that it's taken without permission from the author. Report it.

Mike rubbed his nose and said, "To be honest, people who ride roller coasters come to seek thrills. If it's not thrilling enough, they definitely won't find it interesting!"

Liam sighed and said, "I understand why our amusement park is so run-down. With such a boss, building pointless amusement facilities, it would be a miracle if it didn't go bankrupt!"

"You're supposed to be running an amusement park, and you understand less than an outsider like me!"

Jake wore a dark expression and looked at Ethan and Mike, saying, "How do you guys put up with this guy's smart-ass mouth?"

Ethan and Mike smiled at each other.

Liam huffed and said, "What? Am I not telling the truth?"

"This kind of roller coaster that has no thrills is just a slightly faster-than-usual big toy train, isn't it?"

Jake laughed and said, "You're right about that. This roller coaster really has no other advantages except for being a little faster!"

Liam wore a smug expression, as if to say, "See? I was right!"

The three of them didn't notice the corners of Jake's mouth slowly curving upward, a mischievous smile appearing on his face.

"I need to test the roller coaster anyway to see if there are any problems. Do you guys want to try it out?"

Seeing Jake's expression, the three of them were instantly stunned, a chill running down their spines.

  That smile looked familiar!

Jake had smiled at them like that before they entered the Death Shack.

The story that followed didn't need much explaining. The three of them sighed and shed tears every time they recalled their experiences inside.

Damn it, the boss is smiling at them like that again. Could this be a trap?

"Why aren't you talking?" Jake raised an eyebrow and said with a smile, "You're not scared, are you?"

None of the three spoke. Even Liam was uncharacteristically silent, secretly scrutinizing every detail of the Hyper Velocity Coaster, very cautiously.

But no matter how much they looked, they couldn't see anything special about the Hyper Velocity Coaster!

It's not like they had never ridden a roller coaster before.

And they had ridden roller coasters with steeper tracks and more turns than the one in front of them.

They did feel nervous and excited during the ride, but overall it was still within their physical and psychological limits.

They could handle those roller coasters, so the roller coaster in front of them shouldn't be a problem!

Liam thought to himself, nodded, and said, "Dare? Why wouldn't we dare?"

"What about you guys?" Jake asked.

Ethan scratched his head and said, "Let's give it a try then."

  Mike nodded in agreement.

But the moment he nodded, he suddenly regretted it.

Jake's smile made him feel uneasy, as if something was wrong.

But since he had already agreed, getting off the thief ship would not be so easy.

"Good, after today's business hours, I'll let you guys have a good try." Jake smiled.

This time, he was smiling from the bottom of his heart.

Where else could he find such a good thing as having someone test the roller coaster for him!

After his experience with the Death Shack, Jake now had unwavering faith in the system!

Thinking about how the Hyper Velocity Coaster could reach speeds of 310 mph, Jake felt his scalp tingle and silently prayed for the three unlucky guys in front of him, hoping they wouldn't throw up all the food they had eaten this year.

A busy day quickly passed, and after seeing off the last visitor out of the amusement park.

Jake and the three others arrived at the loading platform of the Hyper Velocity Coaster.

"Find a seat for yourselves." Jake said with some pity, reminding them, "I suggest you sit in the middle, not in the front or back!"

The most thrilling positions on a roller coaster are the front and the back.

The front has a wide field of vision, which is more psychologically impactful.

The back is because when the roller coaster passes a slope, the last car will be slightly faster than the front due to the center of mass, which brings a stronger sense of impact.

"Who are you looking down on?" Liam said with disdain, "Just this crappy roller coaster, I'm going to sit in the first row!"

Ethan wasn't willing to be outdone and sat in the empty seat next to Liam.

Mike had originally wanted to sit in the front row as well, but after thinking about it, he quietly sat in the middle of the roller coaster.

"Anyway, don't regret it when the time comes." Jake felt that he had done his best, so he didn't say anything more and went to the roller coaster's control room, signaling everyone to get ready, as he was about to start the machine!
