  And what was all that about me having a big head?

  That stung, even if it was supposed to be a joke. It was obvious I didn’t understand what was going on, and I tried to use that as part of my schtick: the clueless noob who likes to laugh at herself. But it didn’t feel so playful today.

  Actually, a lot of that chat had veered towards creepy. Torturing deer? Taxidermy? Sigh. Maybe I was too tired to be playing around on Discord. I seemed to be taking it personally today.

  I checked my DMs to see if B had sent me anything about his animation project, but nothing was there. Another dead end. Good, my attention wasn’t required. I closed the program down and picked up HC’s book.
