Chapter 02: Princess Sophia, 15 Years Old and Full of Hate

Fifteen long years had passed. I learned how to walk, to smile, to bow gracefully, and to drink tea like a proper dy… all through sheer force. Literally. My new mother, the queen, would not tolerate “masculine behavior.”

Once, I tried sitting with my legs spread apart. The result? Three days without dessert and an intensive etiquette lesson from an old duke who reeked of perfume and despair.

And here I am now. Fifteen years old, wearing a frilly pink dress, hair perfectly styled, a shiny neckce around my neck… and about to be used as a bargaining chip in a political marriage.

It turns out that the Kingdom of Valteria, where I now live, is militarily weak but rich in valuable mana crystal mines. For the past fifteen years, we’ve been at war with a stronger kingdom that wants our reserves. To avoid total destruction, the king — also known as my “father” — proposed an absurd truce:

“We will give our daughter, Sophia, in marriage to the enemy kingdom’s crown prince. This way, we unify our interests and retain half of the mines.”

  MARRIAGE?! WITH A MAN?!

“This is a betrayal of my masculinity!” I screamed inside my head while trying on my wedding dress. “I’m not gay! I’m just… temporarily trapped in a female body!”

Of course, no one cares about my past life. All they see is a delicate, graceful princess ready to be married off.

Little do they know… Sophia Aldyn won’t be tamed so easily.
