33-Tatsumi- Hinon Federation (2)

Chapter 33. Tatsumi- Hinon Federation (2)

The next day in the morning, Tatsumi woke up from his sleep. This time he dreamed about his time right before he became part of the orphanage.

At that time, the likes of him were considered a nuisance so he had to wander around alone. He could not even afford to trust other people for fear of possible betrayal.

But that changed when he came to the Nine Suns Orphanage. There, he felt what care and kindness were as well as a sense of responsibility.

He opened his eyes wide after a daze. He took in all the things he saw. A white ceiling up above his head. When he moved his head slightly, he could see that he was inside the bnket while his head was above the pillow.

The room was cool and he could feel that through his skin. Then he slightly turned his body to the left and saw another figure sleeping beside him.

Tatsumi extended his hand and slightly tapped the shoulders of the figure.

“Nene, it is time to wake up. Sister Charlene told us that we have to prepare.” Tatsumi said softly. The first thing he did was wake Nene up from her sleep.

As if on cue, Nene mumbled through her mouth.

  “Brother…is it the time?”

“Yes! Wake up!” Tatsumi raised his voice and Nene woke up while rubbing her eyes.

Then Tatsumi got out of the comfortable bed. Even though that was the most comfortable bed he had ever slept in, this time of day could not be missed because it was important.

He went to the bathroom, which was avaible and even knew how to operate in it. Sister Charlene had taught him how to after all.

Nene soon followed suit. She walked around the room while looking for anything interesting to her. She also turned on the big television, which was in front of the bed at the distance of several feet from the bed.

Then the television turned on and dispyed the news from the local station informing about the news from yesterday. Nene was surprised to see that there could be people in the device and wondered how to get them out from it.

She did this because she knew that she had to wait for Tatsumi to finish bathing before her turn. So she looked at the big box and saw the picture of a certain someone who was a bit fierce. She did not know what the people inside the box was talking about but it looked like something dangerous.

Tatsumi, on the other hand, found himself amazed that the bathroom was clean, tidy and smelled good.

He turned the knob which let the water out from the shower. A small rain happened inside the bathroom and Tatsumi was already naked when he was hit by the cold water.

Even though the water was cool, it made his body warmer. Besides, he often bathed like this so he was used to it.

‘According to Sister Charlene, the left is the soap while the right is the shampoo. Soap for the body and shampoo for the hair on the head.’

Tatsumi then used it in accordance with his knowledge. He found out that the soap and the shampoo were fragrant and pleasant to his nose.

He used it to his whole body and realized that his body was being cleansed so much with this. He smelled better. Perhaps this was the smell of someone with a high position and he could get it easily because of Charlene.

He did not waste time and washed it away while rubbing his body as cleanly as possible with the shower water. After that, he washed his body dry with the white, rge towel that was avaible.

The towel was soft and comfortable to the touch. When it made contact with his skin, it did not feel uncomfortable and when he rubbed it, it felt so good.

“Comfortable~” Tatsumi honestly felt this way even though it was his first time bathing in this pce called Comberth Continent.

He even thought that this was the way of life of the people in this pce. He knew that most people here had such privilege due to their own situation, but he could not help but be envious about it.

He then wore the new clothes that he had prepared and wore it. These clothes were the ones that he usually wore during important events.

Then he opened the bathroom door and saw Nene watching television. Tatsumi could hear it since the room was not exactly soundproof.

He could hear about a wanted person in pursuit, but that was all that he could know from hearing.

“Brother, are you done?” Nene turned to look at him and asked.

“Yes, now it’s your turn,” Tatsumi replied.

“Hmm.” Nene nodded, got off the bed while grabbing her spare clothes before she set off to the bathroom and closed the door.

Before long, a water-dripping noise could be heard from the bathroom. Tatsumi in turn sat on the edge of the bed while watching the television.

‘Boy, do you know that the television is currently promoting the scientific product from the Federation?’ a familiar voice from the depth of Tatsumi sounded.

‘Is that the case? No wonder they used some different word and jargon I don’t quite understand. But what is it?’ Tatsumi engaged in a conversation with the Uncle he had recognized in his dream.

Although he was not sure whether that was just a dream or something more but having the presence of someone with various knowledge sure was comforting to him.

‘It is actually the communication device that civilians can use. Remember that the name is Handphone.’ Kudungga knew what was going on and informed Tatsumi about it.

‘What can it do?’ Tatsumi asked out of curiosity.

‘It is a communication device that allows you to communicate with others at a distance. But it is currently only limited in sales according to the one in the television.’ Kudungga expined.

‘So it is like a walkie-talkie then. Oh, I think I get why it is so important. The Captain told me that by having a walkie-talkie, communication becomes much easier.’ Tatsumi realized the value of such a communication device.

If it were to be made in massive numbers, people from distant regions could communicate with each other. Of course, Tatsumi realized that there would be some problem with the transmission but it was not something he knew of.

‘Good. You’ve realized the potential of such devices. Keep that attitude of not underestimating anything you see and you will realize that we are just a speck of dust compared to the vastness of the world.’ Kudungga became the pairing for Tatsumi because he liked the boy’s consideration in things.

Tatsumi then thought about it and then saw that the product came from the Hinon Science Institution.

‘Isn’t that the pce where Sister Charlene works? So the device came from there.’ Tatsumi thought to himself. But the voice from the Uncle did not end.

‘Hinon Science Institute…so that is realized in this pce after all.’

Tatsumi had a question mark on his head when he heard it but then he remembered something important and nodded in agreement.

‘Uncle, looks like some of the ideas that you had before are realized here. From what I heard, thousands of researchers are just like Sister Charlene there. Does that mean the Hinon Federation has the necessary funds to supply them with?’

‘From the looks of it, they probably have some for scientific development.’ Kudungga did not know the specific for sure but knew that it would be an astronomical figure.

The Science Institute aimed to develop human civilization better and faster. With the insight that was given to humanity by the grace of the Father God, he intended to take advantage of that to the fullest.

And he also knew that the thing he had established had created this so he was satisfied when he saw it through Tatsumi.

Through the pairing process, he could sense the world of the living through the host, which in this case was Tatsumi.

‘Uncle, do you know the situation here through me?’ Tatsumi asked. Because he felt that for some reason Kudungga was gathering as much information as he could.

‘You’re right, Boy. I have to know the situation of the legacy I left behind. This is not just for me but for the future of the human civilization so you have to at least understand.’

‘Then do it alongside me.’ Tatsumi thought.

‘I already did. Don’t worry and just do your everyday thing. I can only watch and communicate with you at most.’ Kudungga transmitted.

Tatsumi then watched the television attentively to see more of the information through it. Some were advertisements about the new location of the residence while the other was the report of the current conflict with the Heavensend Kingdom.

From the perspective of the Hinon Federation, they were trying to get rid of the source of the problem by eliminating the Snatcher which was rooted there.

But from the perspective of the people of the Heavensend Kingdom, they were the vile invaders. That view slightly changed with exposure but most people there still believed that.

Tatsumi however did not really care about it. To him, it was the difference of perspective and both sides had some wrongs too.

Seeing that the news reported the current situation regarding the conflict would not end soon, Tatsumi packed up the things he had to carry along with Nene’s.

Then he turned off the television because it was almost time for them to gather. Nene came out from the bathroom covered with the big white towel.

“How is it? Good, right?” Tatsumi smiled when he could smell the fragrance of the soap and shampoo coming from Nene.

“Hmm, it is fragrant and made me comfortable. Will we be able to get this once we are at the new home?” Nene asked.

“Of course, but we need to strive in this new pce. Whatever it is, I believe we can manage.” Tatsumi then realized that Nene did not wear anything after coming out of the bathroom.

So he took the prepared clothes that Nene had and signaled her to wear them. Nene then threw the towel aside which Tatsumi caught and changed clothes.

“Nene, there will be the time when we have to watch where we are and not expose ourselves too much.” Tatsumi sighed before he reprimanded her.

“But it is not now, right Brother?” Nene replied.

Tatsumi did not know what to say anymore and helped Nene put on her clothes properly. After that, they tidied up the bed, opening up the curtain to let the light of dawn that had appeared outside to come in.

They also prepared their belongings to be carried around. Only after all of that was done that they came out of their room.

They went directly to the lobby where they could see someone familiar to them.

“Oh, you two are the first one to get here among the children.” It was actually Hua Fei who was there and greeted them.

“Yes! I am first!” Tatsumi clenched his hand and raised it. He somehow felt happy that he was the first one to come there.

“Brother…” Nene gripped the tip of his clothes while reminding him.

“Oh, right. I should not be noisy here.” Tatsumi remembered that he could not be too loud here. It was because this lobby was used as a pce for many purposes.

He could see that there were some people other than their group standing in the lobby. It looked like they had some matters to attend to just like the group had to gather together.

The next moment, Tatsumi could see Charlene going in their direction. She seemed to wear a serious expression on her face.

“It is good that you are here. I want to ask you for help.” Charlene said to all of them. Tatsumi was confused while Nene and Hua Fei had a curious look on their face.

Then Charlene let out certain small pieces of paper in a row and gave them to Hua Fei. Tatsumi realized that there was a distinctive picture on it.

“This is the train ticket we all need to move from Bren to Giol. I have told you all about it the night before so you at least understand the importance of this thing.” Charlene did not beat around the bush and said directly.

Of course, she had mentioned it before, but Tatsumi could remember it because it was important to them.

If he remembered it right, it was actually the pass for boarding a train. He did not know what kind of vehicle it was, but he knew that it was used in this pce.

But back to the topic, Tatsumi could see a small bead of sweat forming on Charlene’s forehead. He could see it because he focused his attention on her whenever she appeared.

Seeing this, he was a bit concerned. What caused her to be in such a state?

It was definitely when she ran for some time. She must be doing this because of the avaible time.

Then the other children came to the lobby followed by Feng Mo. She was the one who had to take care of the children’s needs and well-being. Hua Fei came to assist her in doing so that it caused a bit of a ruckus.

Then they went outside the hotel. The hotel was a nice pce with several floors up. When they were outside, they could see multi-story buildings filling their view.

Even though it was just the second day they were here, the scene of the building still overwhelmed them. They at most had only seen two or three-story buildings back in the Nine Suns City.

“Where are we going from here?” Hua Fei asked what was on the group’s mind. She asked Charlene because she did not know anything about the pce and only heard about it from Charlene.

“We are going to the station. I have to remind you all not to let the piece of paper you have off.” Charlene reminded the group.

Tatsumi then turned his neck to see the children behind him were behaving like an obedient child. They grasped the pass in their hand tight. It was because they realized the importance of such things. Even the people who cared for them also held one such thing tightly, so they should follow it.

At least that was the thought of the children. Tatsumi nodded in agreement over their action.

“Sister Charlene, all of us are prepared. Let’s not dey any longer.” Tatsumi reminded.

Charlene nodded slightly before she walked off. The rest naturally followed and after a ten-minute walk, they arrived at the rge pce filled with people.

The people were in a queue, and Charlene led them to one particur queue, which was empty. Several people were also wearing unique uniforms that were themed like the one worn by the person who managed the pce.

The group realized that those people welcomed Charlene with respect.

“This train is reserved for our group. There will be others so be careful.” Charlene then said loudly so that all of them could hear.

“Other than that, give the pass to the person in front of me. He is the one responsible for checking the passengers of the train.” Charlene added.

The man she mentioned was smiling kindly to them. And the process of confirming the passenger became easier. After everyone was done, they then walked to the pce where they could see a rge machine that let out a smoke.

Behind it were several wagons specific for the passenger. There were also other people beside the group who would board the train so they made way so that they would not disturb the flow.

Tatsumi locked his gaze on the locomotive in front of him. He wondered how it worked since it let out smokes but from the looks of it, he would get the idea soon. Nene trailed behind him and he followed Charlene entering the wagon.

When they entered, they were stunned. The décor for the inside was elegant to say the least. Tatsumi felt that with his own eyes that the inside was designed that way.

He had experienced this through someone else’s experience. Of course, that someone was right with him.

‘They used the same decoration from where I came from.’ Kudungga commented inside Tatsumi’s mind.

‘What is the story behind this?’ Tatsumi wondered as he also saw that several notes could be seen identifying the seat.

As far as he remembered, it looked like the designated seat that could be seen on the pass.

“It looks like this wagon is the pce for us. Tatsumi, over here!” Charlene confirmed it and dragged Tatsumi and Nene to their seat.

Charlene then stood beside the red seats. It was for two people and Tatsumi just tried to sit on it. When he did, he felt the comfort of the seat. He had to admit that the seat was comfortable enough for him to doze off.

Nene also sat and discovered this aspect too. While they did this, Hua Fei and Feng Mo had to make sure that the other children sat on their designated seats properly.

Most of them could not stay still and moved around the wagon, so Hua Fei had to watch them closely.

Charlene then helped, too, since Tatsumi and Nene were more obedient. Tatsumi realized that there was a window on the other side and looked through it to see the outside view.

The distance between seats was rge enough that Tatsumi knew that this was a special arrangement. But he did not voice out his opinion because it might come off as offensive to some people.

After all of that had been done, Tatsumi could hear the whistle coming from the locomotive in front. He realized that was the signal for the train to move. Charlene even persuaded the children to sit in their designated seats and not disturb the others.
