The place is simple in its layout. A standard cafeteria. A place where you gather around and eat food with all of your friends and maybe even family. The place is large, uncomfortably so as you are the only person on this ship. Well, the only soul in here, that is. The food smells amazing, something you can only imagine only the finest restaurant will make. Even with the food on display, you are already salivating. Don’t be shy, I can tell. Head to the kitchen. Maybe you’ll see something of interest.

  A humanoid robot walking around, cleaning the grill and prepping for dinner. They do notice you, but I didn’t install any personality module. Over time I will install one to provide you company during your time on this ship. I will also take the liberties to make more robots for you to talk, have fun, make friends, and even form rivals with. I think it will get old real fast if you only communicate with me and only me during your time on this ship. Do not be alarmed, the ship will expand to accommodate the other robots.

  What will they look like? That will be up to you. I can make them just to be like humans, or I can even make them look like aliens. Wouldn’t that be fun? AI and the advancements of the future will make them appear lifelike and real, so you won’t feel lonely. The only exception is their biology. All of them, of course, will be artificial. It won’t be a negative, it is just a reality of what they are. Rest assured, they will form opinions and all of that. It will also be a bit mean to hate them as you are also an artificial creature. Even if you will be the only one with a soul.

  Before you panic as you remember that giant brute of a machine in Afghanistan. Don’t be alarmed, they will not be like him. Unlike the soviets or the people involved in his construction I doubt you will get into an altercation with the robots I made for you. Well, that is if you are not planning to force them to commit crimes against humanity. I believe you are a good enough person.

  In case you are wondering. Yes, the food is safe, and you can eat it. They also will never spoil, and they will taste divine. To simulate their authenticity, I made sure that you will get a tummy ache if you only eat chocolate. Yes, you will get sick if you eat one thing all the time. So, I do encourage you to diversify your tastebuds. You have slept through billions of years of culinary history and advances; you might as well take the time to enjoy what is created in the future.

  But you want to know why I created this place? It is so I can tell you stories. Sure, putting on a movie is easy. But to know the real history of the universe, how some people shape their worlds by their presence alone. That is far more rewarding. It is what you need. I want to share that with you, to tell you the truth about how everything started and how it ended. I want to tell you how I lived through all of it, the one who survived it all.
