Ch. 51: Destinys Poet

My pen had moved across thousands of pages, many sleepless nights i spent dwelling in house with nothing but a quill in hand and ink on the side, the men that had entered my room only inspected the paper and left after patting me on the back.

I slept only three hours and worked all other moments when i was awake, i had almost died from the terrible conditions, i could only look at the golden dawns through the window of my small room: the extent of my freedom.

The room was my entire residence, a place of constant slumber and labour that i would quickly learn to despise. Due to my talents, the poems i wrote day and night were all beautiful masterpieces so where was my reward? Where was my apology for mutilating my parents and brothers right before my eyes? When will i get any recognition?

Every day as i continued to write my right wrist had only gotten stiffer and stiffer until it was unable to write, i had to break my right wrist and write with my left just to satisfy the masters.

One night, i had fallen asleep and recieved a beating after missing the deadline when getting a cup of water and passing out, so they cut off my left arm as payment.

My mind could no longer take it, i layed in my bed, not writing any longer, the men eventually came back and beat me, but i had summoned a sea of clouds, only leaving a pile of flesh where the men once stood.

I was finally free, free to live and roam the world, i left the house and breathed deeply, like i haven't left my home in years. Which wasn't far from true.

My arm had regenerated... I don't know what power i used but it was all worth it to get rid of them, those foul creatures...

I set my old house on fire, and set out into the wild, i accepted all strange jobs i could get for some money and lived in the forest by a small town.

I didn't care that i didn't have a home, i didn't care that i was dirty, i didn't care what people thought of me... All humiliation was nothing as long as i had money, money was power and i could do whatever i wanted as long as i had it!

Rape, murder, torture, mutilation... Even gardening work! I'd do anything as long as i got money for it! I had eventually risen to glory and wealth that many couldn't even dream of, i continued to rape and slaughter... After all, who could stop me? as long as i had money, it was all justified!

In that moment, i was truly free!

  ***

As i walked from a burning village i had freshly plundered, i looked to the lake side as i saw man dresses fully in black, with long beautiful golden hair behind him. The robe he wore looked expensive, so decided to steal from him, but as i move closer with my golden knife, the side of my body was torn from me and i lay dying on the floor.

The man looked at me with a joyous smile on his face, only uttering the word "Mammon" to me. I later found myself at a prison, with no memory of my previous name, guards took me to a table, where i sat next to the man i had tried to kill and rob... He looked me in the eyes and pulled a golden-black box from his robe, setting it on the table.

"Septem Principium Mammon." He said, when i opened the box, i found golden earings in it, in the shape of a coin with a core of glowing gold.

I knew, from the moment i saw the earings, this was the destiny written out for me.
