  Bang!

  "Aaaang!"

Befyarados could react, its massive head smmed hard into the ground.

  "Bzzzt-bzzzt~"

Elekid gracefully nded ba the ground and, without hesitation, unched a barrage of punches and kicks at the downed Gyarados, treating it like a living pung bag.

  "Aaaang!"

The relentless attacks left Gyarados in both pain and fury. Drawing upon its Flying-type power, it unleashed a ferocious Hurrie from its mouth.

The sted indiscriminately, damaging friend and foe alike. While it caused some self-inflicted harm, the Hurrie successfully struck Elekid, sweeping it up into the air.

Seizing the opportunity, Gyarados unleashed a powerful Hydro Pump, a torrent of water as thick as a barrel, hitting the airborne Elekid directly and inflig damage.

  "Bzzzt-bzzzt~"

Using the force of the Hydro Pump, Elekid barely mao break free from the storm’s grip, h in midair using its magic field. It stared ily at Gyarados, raising one hand to gather its energy. A glowing Focus Bst formed and shot tyarados.

Unfazed, Gyarados retaliated with another Hydro Pump, directly tering the ining Focus Bst.

The two moves cshed midair, resulting in an explosive burst of water vapor that momentarily obscured the battlefield.

As the mist cleared, Elekid’s figure disappeared from Gyarados’s sight.

  "Bzzt-bzzt~"

That familiar sound rang out again. Gyarados instinctively turs head, only to be met with a more powerful Focus Bst hitting it square in the face.

  Boom!

The impact left Gyarados momentarily dazed.

Before it could recover, Elekid desded from the sky with a devastating Brick Break, striking Gyarados squarely on the head. The final blow knocked Gyarados to the ground, leaving it unscious.

However, this time, Gyarados did not return to Paul’s Poké Ball. In fact, Paul himself was o be seen.

Hidden among the rocks, a round little Pokémon trembled with excitement, watg Elekid triumph yarados. Its eyes sparkled with admiration.

  "Enjoying the battle?"

A cold voice startled the small Pokémon, which eagerly turo share its excitement.

But as it turned, it was met with Paul’s cold, stoic fad flowing purple hair.

  "Gib?"

The little Pokémon’s expression ged instantly. Startled, it jumped and began digging furiously to escape.

"Following me all day and still trying to run?"

Paul swiftly grabbed the fleeing Pokémon midair. The rough texture of its skin pricked his hand, causing him to grima pain and nearly toss it away.

Despite the disfort, Paul held on, carrying the little Pokémon out of the rocky terrain.

  "Ur?"

  "Blissey?"

  "Bzzt-bzzt?"

Paul’s three Pokémon, searg for their traiuroward the otion and saw him carrying a small, round, deep-blue Pokémon with arms and legs—a Gible.

  "Gib-gib!"

The Gible wriggled restlessly in Paul’s grip, its disproportionately rge mouth letting out loud cries, seemingly protesting to be let go.

  "Ursaring, it’s your problem now."

Paul unceremoniously tossed the prickly Gible toward his Ursaring.

The small Pokémon, a Gible, was no ordinary creature. Native to Sinnoh, it seudo-legendary species known for its te bloom into immense power.

Yet here it was, treated like a hot potato and casually thrown into Ursaring’s arms.

Initially, Ursaring thought it was an easy task. But as soon as it tried to hold the squirming Gible steady, the rough skin pricked its thick hide, causing disfort. Ursaring could only endure, given its toughness.

It then noticed Paul’s hand, red and raw, almost bleeding from handling the Gible.

  "Poké Ball, go."

Ign the pain, Paul used a Poké Ball to capture the fainted Gyarados.

"Not worth training. I don’t need you."

Paul sed the Poké Ball with his Pokédex. After firming the information, he decided to temporarily keep the Gyarados, while releasing a previously caught Shellos bato the wild.

Finally, Paul turned his attention to the small Pokémon that had been following him.

  "Gib! Gib! Gib!"

Gible thrashed wildly in Ursaring’s grasp.

However, given that Gible was far weaker than Elekid, there was no way it could escape from Ursaring’s hold.

  "Ha~"

Suddenly, Gible stopped struggling. Its gaze locked with Paul’s as he crouched to meet its eyes. The two exged a silent, profound uanding.

  "Let it go, Ursaring."

After a brief moment, Paul stood up, pletely unbothered by the thought of Gible running away.

Trusting its trainer, Ursaring released the prickly Pokémon.

  "Gib~ Gib~"

Now ba the ground, Gible seemed calmer.

Sing the other Pokémon, Gible waddled over to Elekid, gazing up at it with stars in its eyes.

  "Bzzt-bzzzt?"

Elekid, fused by its sudden admirer, scratched its head. But that didn’t stop it from puffing out its chest in pride.

  "Bzzzt-bzzt!"

Alright, from now on, you’re my first little minion!

If you need anything, just e to y brother!

Elekid felt an overwhelming sense of self-importance, pg its hand on Gible’s rough skin in a patronizing manner.

  "Gib~"

Big brother! Teach me how to fly!

Gible looked at Elekid with admiration, fpping its tiny arms as if trying to take off.

  "Bzzzt?!"

Elekid was stunned. So you only admire me because you want a ride?

  "Gib~"

Gible swayed its body, gng at the sky longingly before refog on Elekid.

To Gible, a Pokémon that could float without wings was nothing short of miraculous.

Elekid finally uood. Gible didn’t want a ride—it wao learn how to fly.

Generously, Elekid nodded. If you’re my minion, teag you is no problem!

  Except… I ’t teach you that!

Elekid studied the dusty little Pokémon before it. Given its attributes and abilities, there was no way it could easily learn Mag Rise.

Uo deliver, Elekid faced its first-ever credibility crisis.

Caught in Gible’s expet gaze, Elekid fell silent.
