29. Dark Despairs

She's in my thoughts, dwelling in dream

that special woman I shall never forget.

I often awaken aghast, wanting to scream

drenched in regrets, sadness, and sweat.

Most of my days are bright and full of hope

nut it's the calm before the impending storm.

A case of theft: this story is not rightfully on Amazon; if you spot it, report the violation.

At night I feel so tiny, as if under a microscope

I need to break the cycle, escape the new norm.

Wanting change and doing it are different things

as one needs faith of heart, love of self to move on.

When that happens, your lost soul will grown wings

nights are less scary, you depend less on the dawn.

There is no greater feeling that could compare

to when one is finally freed from their despair.
