Pov Dia,
Dia: "Yui, try to extend your fist a little more when you attack. Inglis-chan, stop going so hard—don’t forget she’s a year younger than you."
It had been a few weeks since I invited Yui Kotegawa to learn self-defense (see In the Future 3 and 4). Inglis and Yui are currently practicing techniques against each other, but Inglis is using too much strength.
Dia: "Remember, this is about learning self-defense, not defeating or humiliating your opponent."
My other girls didn’t want to join this self-defense training because they preferred real combat, but I still ordered them to come and socialize with people their age.
Haruka: "Hi, Yui! Why didn’t anyone tell me you’d be here?"
My daughter Haruka arrived just as I told them to stop training.
Yui: "Hi, Haruka! Are you doing well?"
Even if Haruka’s sense of justice isn’t as strong as Yui’s, she still shares the same ideals.
Haruka: "Yeah! And you know what? My mom’s expecting triplets!"
Yui: "Congratutions, Haruka! I’m truly happy for you. Do you know what their names will be?"
Dia: "No, her parents didn’t expect to have triplets, so they’re trying to come up with names that are somehow connected."
Yui: "You seem to know a lot about their situation."
Dia: "It’s normal. I need to make sure my servants are doing well. I also gave Ultima a work ban and an allowance so she can prepare for the arrival of the children."
Yui: "You’re really kind, May-sama."
Dia: "I’m just a simple boss who takes care of their servants. If it were someone else, and if the situation didn’t require it, I wouldn’t necessarily help."
Yui: "But they need help."
Dia: "Yes, but I don’t know their past. They might deserve their situation, or there could be other circumstances that would make me want them to disappear."
I know that Yui is aware that not everyone in this world is kind, so I hope she understands that I don’t help everyone because I don’t want to take unnecessary risks. Besides, I’m already helping too much. It’s now up to the Shadow Garden members to support those in need by inviting them into the faction—provided they have no criminal history.
Dia: "Alright, I decre today’s session over. Yui, if you’d like, you can stay and py with the girls."
Yui: "Yes, I’d love to, May-sama."
As Yui was leaving, I asked a house witch to set the house back to normal mode; otherwise, it turns into a real byrinth with a hidden onsen (a bit like Beatrice’s library in Re:Zero).
Inglis: "Can I go to the Underworld and do a sparring match against Sairaog?"
Dia: "You can, but ask Misery to take you there and supervise. You need to be a bit careful—your muscle mass is much smaller than Sairaog’s, so don’t try to challenge him in a strength contest."
As Yui was leaving, One approached to deliver a search report.
One: "It was the priests of the Protestant church who killed Lady Berial."
A few weeks ago, I hadn’t received a report from Cleria. After investigating, we discovered that there had been a fight in a park. There was a strong presence of sacred energy, and we considered attacking the clergy members of the city, but we cked solid evidence.
Dia: "Now that we have the evidence, it’s time to pay a visit to Priest Shidou."
About a hundred years ago, a church was built in the city, and I accepted their presence to strengthen ties between our factions. However, it seems that not everyone is willing to cooperate.
By what right does he believe he can murder the city's housekeeper just because she is a devil?
Dia: "I can’t wait to expel them so I can py the organ without being disturbed."
The outcome will likely be their expulsion from the city, but if I can keep the organ room, that would be perfect.
