Prologue: Betrayal

  "It's a beautiful place isn't it?"

A youth's voice reached my ears as I stared into the vast expanse. The voice felt and sounded distorted as numerous other voices were somehow mixed in and overlapped.

I knew it deep within me that I have heard that phrase before somewhere.

Somehow everything had felt as if it has already happened.

A case of theft: this story is not rightfully on Amazon; if you spot it, report the violation.

Well, it didn't just 'felt' as if it has happened for the fact that I have 'already' seen this same scene and heard the same phrase over and over....

Like the ever flowing sands in an hourglass or the ticking of a clock's second hand.

I wonder, where do I stand between the rapid current of time.

Sighing, I could only stand and look back at the smiling youth also staring at the vast horizon and the greeting dawn.

I then looked down as I imagined how those sparkling eyes would soon also turn dull.

Maybe my role in this 'story' is betrayal...and will always be.
