For her, all monsters of the same css or lower were insignificant in terms of threat. Even with this certainty, she continued on with her anthill, relentless in her march.
After a long walk, they finally reached the vilge. As a cunning queen, she wouldn't let her guard down easily, but something seemed different. She had dealt with orc vilges before, but this one was different. The fortification, although light, gave the impression of having been pnned by a human. Many of the houses were in ruins, their timbers reused to build makeshift barricades.
At the entrance to the vilge, there was a single being, and to his surprise, it wasn't an orc, but a draconic woman. So they learned something from our st attack!
The queen ughed softly. After all, it only took one csh for the orcs to take action. This was just a demonstration of how much she was feared. They had left a gap to defend themselves against her anthill.
Although outnumbered, she knew the potential of her strength and that of the anthill. With her long legs, sharp cws and fangs capable of destroying rocks, she knew she could destroy that barricade with ease. Foolish Orcs, you underestimate us with this fragile structure. With that thought, she ordered the attack.
With a single order, five ants advanced with lightning speed towards the barricade. Their coordination was impeccable, like a single unit in perfect sync. Thanks to the telepathic connection, the anthill could orchestrate attacks efficiently, always fulfilling the wishes of its queen.
The attack seemed unbeatable, and the wall would inevitably be destroyed. This would certainly unsettle the orcs, making them think that all their efforts were in vain.
But what was that?
To his surprise, the first horde was repelled. Using her mental connection, she realized that something was restricting her movements while the ants' blood poured out in a superficial way. What's happening? She ran to try to mentally connect with the horde, but they all fell unconscious before she could get an answer. Something had completely paralyzed her ants, preventing them from moving.
The draconic woman in front of them, however, didn't even move. Her gaze was fixed on the queen and her anthill. Had she done something? Impossible! She didn't even move!
One of the shorter ants approached the queen and spoke in a low tone:
- It's her, the monster whose dark aura I sensed! She certainly surpasses not only the leader of the orcs... but, if I may be so bold, she also surpasses Your Majesty...
The ant backed away, visibly frightened. The queen, though suspicious, ignored the warning.
What nonsense! she thought, watching the draconic. She already knew that draconics were rare beings, reted to dragonewts and Scalelizards, but she still didn't understand the being's involvement. Overcome my aura? That's impossible. I've fed on countless monsters and humans!
While she thought about it, he slowly approached, with the rest of the anthill at his side.
- Stop it! We don't want to fight over unnecessary things. Let's resolve this peacefully. - She decred, trying to ease the tension.
The ant queen, proud and cunning, knew she couldn't be reckless. She had faced many adversities over the years and, although she was facing imminent danger, she would not show fear or hesitation.
The draconic woman's presence, although powerful, was not as obvious as she had imagined. She underestimated her, and it was this mistake that led to a serious blunder.
- KYAAAAH! - The queen shouted, furious. - Insolent! We're going to wipe you out and devour your entire vilge!
And with that, she ordered a direct attack.

Well, that was unexpected.
To my surprise, the ant queen also had the ability to communicate verbally. Even from a distance, I observed that her ants moved in a coordinated manner, almost like the small ants of my old world, which were mostly harmless. This, however, could be a problem.
Since she was the queen, I imagined that the whole problem could be solved with a simple sentence. Even so, if she backed down or showed a willingness to negotiate, I had no objections - after all, my intention was to avoid unnecessary casualties. Even without a rehearsed speech, I trusted in my negotiating experience and hoped that my efforts would not be in vain.
Nevertheless, it was a necessary collective effort. The leader was right not to underestimate these opponents. And besides, I was forced to heal the wounded. Yes, there were injured people here, and I took care of them as quickly as possible. Although the wounds weren't serious, due to the precarious conditions in the vilge, the injured wouldn't recover easily without help, so I used a little magical reinforcement to speed up the process.
After that, my priority was to defend the vilge. I asked for the destroyed houses to be partially dismantled to form a barricade. The rotting wood might not be ideal, but it would be enough to contain the threat for the time being. However, I didn't know that the giant ants were actually so imposing.
They were the size of an average person, some bipedal and others quadrupedal. Even so, I didn't fully trust the makeshift barricades and called for reinforcements with branches and stones collected quickly.
As I worked, I hesitated to send out scouts to inspect the threat. In times of war, it's essential to know the enemy, but with the ck of personnel, I didn't make that order. At the moment, being together in the vilge seemed the best option.
Now I know one thing for sure: these rock ants are no joke. As well as appearing to have considerable strength, they are also extremely fast.
It didn't take more than a day for everything to be ready around here. Even so, as a precaution, I decided to use my [Silk Threads] in a thin but sharp yer. I discovered that I can alter their density, so the thinner they are, the more resistant they become. The opposite effect is also true, but this thickness was ideal for creating effective traps.
I did the same with the [Electrified Webs]. When they're thin enough, they become invisible to the naked eye. Only I know how to coordinate myself in this hostile terrain. If the ants run recklessly, they could be cut slightly and, as a result, their movements would be restricted.
- Leader, are you sure we should stay back? Shouldn't we help her? - An orc soldier asked, visibly worried.
- She told us to wait patiently. Getting involved would be a st resort. Besides, I have every confidence that Satouma-sama knows what she's doing. - The leader replied firmly, trying to reassure the soldiers.
For safety's sake, I opted for an improvised defensive tactic. I couldn't rely solely on the traps I had id. Although I had confidence in them, nothing is perfect. So I decided to leave the orcs further back, away from direct combat. If the ants attacked, they would have difficulty advancing, and the orcs could eliminate them without too much trouble.
