Inside a small secret room ,wedged between the walls of the tower, the witches worked. Rose was on guard while Valerian fixed up a flask, the same potion she used to cleanse the dagger. If they can cleanse the dagger, that should help in case if Shadow's in trouble.

  Rose stood there watching carefully as the other wolves passed by. "How much longer?" She whispered.

  "I'm almost done." Valerian responded.

  Suddenly, they heard the attack happen outside the tower. Rose saw that the wolf Thunderbolt and Howl attacked, retreated. Shit, he's going to warn the others!

  The red eyed wolf looked in the direction the two girls hid, and ran down to the tunnels.

  "Valerian, we've been spotted!"

  "Okay, okay, I'm hurrying!"

  Howl and Thunderbolt ran to the girls. "Did you see that? We just got busted!"

  Rose attempted to calm them down. "I know, I know, just get back to your spots. Valerian's almost done!"

  Howl and Thunderbolt nodded as they went back to their original positions.

  "Okay, okay.. I'm done!" Valerian told her. "Let's go!"

  The girls have been told by Shadow that in the area they were in, there was a door that was the entrance to a secret passage, leading to the tunnels.

  Once the wolves began to attack the traitor she lost long ago, Scarlett left them to kill the nameless wolf.

  The black wolf attempted to fight back, even if it meant hurting the ones he loved. He knew how ferocious he could get when threatened. For many years, he practiced. Taught himself.

  Max and Ben bared their teeth, as they slowly began to circle him.

  The black wolf sighed. I'm sorry I have to do this.............."

  He picked Ben and charged, slamming the timberwolf's massive body into the cold hard wall made of stone. Ben got up though, and with how muscular he was, he attempted to pound the black wolf to the floor; but the black wolf dodged, knocking himself into Max, who bit him hard; but then he turned around and clawed the hell out of him, making the young wolf whine. Within two seconds, the black wolf was down. It's no surprise, Ben was much stronger that he was. He looked up at Ben. "Remember who you really are.." he said. He bowed his head, ready to die...until he heard the sound of the dagger slicing through skin. He looked back up and noticed that Valerian was there, holding up the knife over Ben, who was now bleeding from his back.

  The black wolf smiled at her. "Watch out for the other one though!" Before he could finish, Valerian was knocked down by Max. The black wolf saw that the dagger slid to the other side of the room. He ran for the dagger, and Max noticed this, going back to his father to finish the job. The black wolf didn't notice Max going after him. Suddenly, Shadow storms in and comes to his aid. Valerian tried to get up, but she was so shook that she was nearly petrified.

  "Scratch!" Shadow shouted. When Scratch turned around, Shadow noticed that he had changed.

  He was no longer a timberwolf color, as dark streaks of black plagued him as well as the familiar flecks of shadow surrounding him. Scratch looked like his body was decaying, and his blue eyes were covered by black colored veins.

  "Scratch....." he whispered. His former friend snarled at him as he slowly made his way to Shadow. A second later, and Howl and Thunderbolt were the along with Rose.

  Howl gasped, and Thunderbolt whimpered at Scratch's gaunt looking body. Rose put her hands over her mouth in shock.
