Ch.1

Astra is a world of fantasy. Magic spells and mythical creatures exist in this pce. Dungeons or dragons, one can find everything here. The path of sword and magic is open to anyone who’s willing to take the first step. This is a truly magical world.

At the center of this world is the Qualia continent, the rgest patch of nd on the entire pnet. It is governed by 3 countries, with the most prosperous one being Neverwinter.

Neverwinter was founded 4 centuries ago after Rond, a prince of the former royal family, won the battle of succession and successfully defended the countries against demon invaders.

He then changed the name of the kingdom from Enatus to what it is now. Being a reformist, he has also abolished the outdated feudalism system and adopted the new democracy government from the Western Continent, becoming the first president of Neverwinter.

After President Rond passed away, many talented people took up the mantle and made many more changes to develop the country, and the result can be seen 400 years ter. Neverwinter is now the pioneering country in terms of technology and magical study, with a prospering economy and is continuing to develop rapidly.

To achieve progress, the contribution of talented inventors and researchers is absolutely necessary, and to protect the country against outside threats, a powerful force of knights and magicians are needed. The government of Neverwinter understands this clearly, and thus, 3 centuries ago, the Qualia Academy was founded.

On this continent, young teenagers are taught one of three paths: a Schor, a Magician or a Knight. Schors are those who are well-versed in Science and Magic Theory, and using that knowledge to research new technologies. Magicians and Knights, on the other hand, are fighters, using their magical and physical prowess to protect the country. And the Qualia Academy is where the most talented children gather, who will go on to become leading figures of their respective field.

‘Well, it is also where the main story for a certain RPG called Rise of EsGod: The God of Espers…’ A girl quietly muses to herself as she closes the history book she has been reading.

Well, at this point, you know the drill. She, an ordinary college student, got transmigrated to a game world. It is a trope that has appeared too many times in fiction.

The girl she got transmigrated into is called Amemiya Michi, hailing from Akatsuki, the country located in the Eastern Continent that is based on real life Japan.

But instead of being in her home country, she has been staying in Neverwinter for a while now, since she is going to enroll in Qualia Academy in just a week on a schorship. Fittingly, she is going to attend as a Schor too, not as a Magician or a Knight.

Well, due to that, her coming into contact with the main story is likely unavoidable. She can drop out, but why would she waste this chance to study at the most prestigious institute in the world that all but guarantees her a bright future?

Which is why Michi, who barely has any time left until the story begins, is carefully noting down everything she remembers.

‘First, the protagonist, Leonard Morell. He’s an Esper, a type of Magician who can only use one single specialized innate spell, or Esper Ability.’

‘His Esper Ability is to steal another person’s Esper Ability through physical contact. The condition of activation is, if the target is of equal or higher tier as Leonard, then they must not resist him for it to succeed. If the target is of a lower tier, Leonard can forcefully snatch away their ability. Most notably, he can plunder Esper Ability from a dead Esper.

‘A person who has their ability stolen can no longer use their Esper Ability, and is no different from a normal person. The Esper Ability that Leonard steals has to be trained from Tier 0 again.”

‘Due to him hailing from a poor family, he never got tested for magic aptitude, and hence was never aware of his ability. However, after an assault accident where both of his parents died, he somehow accidentally manages to steal a Lightning Control ability from the assaint.’

’Using that Lightning Control ability, he managed to nd a schorship in Qualia Academy, and the story will begin when he enrolls.’

Michi lets out a sigh, menting the cheat ability that the protagonist possessed. Espers trade versatility for both control and power. A normal Magician can never be more proficient at any spell than an Esper is with their innate spell.

Meanwhile, for Leonard, versatility is not an issue. He can have virtually unlimited abilities at his disposal. The countless Esper Abilities that he has at endgame and the perfect control and sheer power that no Magician but an Esper can achieve is what gives him the title of EsGod.

Now, Michi is quite wary of this guy. For once, she does not like men, which is why she even pyed this game instead of the otoge that are more popur amongst girls. The number of girls chasing after him makes her concerned that she might be swept into it too due to some divine intervention of the plot. Well, that is a bit far-fetched, but it is a trope she sees a lot in novels.

More importantly, Michi herself is an Esper. Be it this life or the past one. So much for the ‘ordinary college student’ part.

Originally, Amemiya Michi possessed a peculiar ability to bring written text into reality. For example, by writing a ‘Wind’ character, she can create a gust of wind.

Meanwhile, our transmigrator had the ability to understand any written text, be it different nguages, ciphers or even mindless scribbling. It is fully passive, but it wasn’t of much help to her aside from letting her pass English exams.

After the transmigration, the current Amemiya Michi has retained both old abilities. And she even got a new one as a bonus.

And this new ability, in her opinion, is no worse than Leonard’s Plunder ability.

While Leonard could strip other people’s ability to turn into his strength, Michi can harness a book’s power based on who the author is, and what is written inside.

Of course, not just any book can be used, it must contain sufficient magic power or is written by a great existence of Tier 5 or above. Well, and if the book is a true artifact, Michi can absorb its power for herself, not unlike Leonard’s stealing.

For her, who has been a bookworm since her past life, this is an ability that she likes a lot. There is no way she is going to let the protagonist take it away.

The sound of a chair scraping on the floor wakes Michi from her contemption. She seems to have been sitting inside the public library for a while now, doing nothing.

Realizing this, she quickly packs up her things before walking back to her hotel room. There’s nothing for her to do here anymore.

Michi has just arrived at Neverwinter for a few days, but now that she knows about EsGod, she wasn’t going to just let things run its course.

The old her would probably never think that she was going to head back to Akatsuki after only a day of staying in Neverwinter. A waste of money buying pne tickets? Probably. But she had a pn.

In true transmigrator fashion, she’s going to steal one of the protagonist’s opportunities. That being, a certain scroll.

A/N:The name EsGod is from The Legendary Mechanic.

The main character's name is Amemiya(雨宮) Michi(道). Amemiya is written with 'rain' and 'shrine'. Michi means 'road' or 'path'.

Her appearance, which I just remember that I did not write and now there's no good pce to put it. Well, she has a bit of a smaller frame, with shoulder-length brown hair and a pair of round gsses. Basically, she is Kosuzu with different hair and no checkered kimono.
