That’s right…even more books. He should have expected it at this point.
And what do you know? They were all unreadable.
sigh
Thankfully, for sanity's sake. It was only a small shelf full. Maybe 50 books in total.
{These books belong in the Library Master's personal library. Please touch each book with your ring.}
"Personal Library?"
{Books that need the Library master's explicit permission to release.}
"Interesting. Are there more of them…can I see them?"
{No, you haven’t met the right conditions. You wouldn't be able to read them anyways.}
"Fine whatever, I'll add them all."
One by one the books disappeared when touched by the ring. He wasn't sure where they were going. He hadn't seen an area for him only. As far as he could tell he had the whole library to himself.
He wasn't in a rush.
He would find out when ‘the conditions were met.’
Whatever that meant.
He stored the last book, gave the room a thorough look, and upon finding nothing else of interest, he closed the door and walked out.
Albion walked into the hallway and drew a new door for himself, he made sure he was thinking about entering a little bit away from the pile of books and furniture that was laying in the empty part of the office.
He had really just tossed everything into the library there was definitely a heap of his stuff all over each other ready to topple over on the other side.
He wasn’t about to let himself get crushed to death by his own furniture.
Coming to the Library this time was a much more enjoyable experience. Last time the journal had spoiled the excitement by giving him that horrible task. This time he was free to explore whatever he wanted. He already knew where everything was but he hadn’t even gotten to read a single book.
Being able to come and go as he pleased was definitely going to be a major plus.
He arranged his furniture, found places for all the books that he had brought with him...somehow there was the perfect amount of space on the shelves for each, and then he found a place to sit with a book in hand.
Like any other library, there were areas to study, areas to read quietly, and there were some magical creations he wasn't quite able to understand in certain areas of the library as well.
They had manuals but…again…he couldn't read them.
This place was definitely not made by humans.
He was sure the machines had their uses but, ‘the conditions have not been met.’
He was about ready to make that the journal's title.

Before trying to come up with a plan on how to make money and how to make something of himself.
He took a few hours of his time to read. He needed a break from all the work.
He had found a book written by a human from Zolt, where he lived…or, used to live that is. It was about the colleges that existed throughout the land. He had never thought of going to one when he was working with his mother. His mom had money saved in the bank, it wasn't enough to save the store, but it was probably enough to get into a college. Even if he had to loan some money from the bank, a good job could help him pay that off.
Maybe he could be a scholar or transcribe books in other languages.
He had always enjoyed reading so it might work out.
Especially now that he had a grand library at his disposal.
He would be the best damn scholar around if given the opportunity.
He didn't realize just how much these colleges cost though. Hundreds of gold coins, for even a normal college, it was daylight robbery!
Each and every one of them was so far from affordable it hurt to think about the hole it would burn in his finances.
The only ones that were feasible were the ones that were free entry. Those schools were few and far between, and they were the most difficult of all to enroll in.
Because those were the schools for the elite. They were massive schools run by the funding of every human kingdom.
The very first requirement was that you had Prana, which he did. The second was that you were strong enough to complete the test, which he certainly wasn't. He was a twig, he could barely lift a stack of books. Let alone punch a man hard enough to deal damage. The third was that you could fight a wild beast.
It was a stronger one too, a class 2.
It could kill any beginner. Whether they were a mage or a fighter, or any other class in between.
If they weren't strong.
They wouldn't survive.
The requirements were just too steep.
He supposed it would be better if he just...worked a couple of odd jobs for now.
The journal had to spoil his mood again though.
He was beginning to think it liked it.
It was really pushing it’s luck.
{Task: Get into Aberelt
Reward: Library Control lvl.2
Punishment: Demotion.}
"Aberelt....really..."
{Yes.}
*sigh*
"What do you think I am?"
{The Library's master You must be strong.}
“Did you just see that it was listed as the best academy…did you put any thought into it besides that?”
{...It is the best academy, therefore you shall attend.}
"How do you suppose I do it...hmm? They make you fight a Class 3 and they require that you have some unique ability. What do you want me to do?! I'm not fighting a Class 3!"
{Read.}
"READ WHAT!"
Thunk
A book appeared right in front of him on the table, it had popped out of the ring. It was in a language he didn't understand.
Thunk thunk thunk thunk
Another stack of books popped out of the ring, all of them in Aberelthian, the language of the humans. The language he read and spoke. They were all books about reading, writing, speaking, understanding, and translating Welfth. The language of the Faye. They were all very old textbooks, and they were very surface-level. He wasn’t sure when they had been made because the Faye had supposedly gone extinct before the advent of the New Calander. Thousands of years before. He was pretty sure he had never even heard of the language before.
"I'm supposed to...translate it?"
{Yes.}
"What is it?"
{Meet the criteria, and you will find out.}
"This will take me forever...can I have some help? How am I going to go to Aberelt if I don't finish this in time."
{You are already receiving help, time has been slowed. You will have plenty of time. Good luck. Oh…and you can’t leave until you finish.}
"How was time slowed...and why couldn’t you have done that when I was organizing…I lost my shop because of you!”
{Take as much time as you need.}
“How long is it going to take…?”
{...}
"Hello?!"
{...}
"Fuck it...It can’t be that hard to learn a language…right?”
