Jing Ren, Jing Zhong, and Jing Hai were taken in by Master Xu Neng, and they were extremely grateful, especially Jing Ren. When Master Xu Neng passed on his unique skills to him, Jing Ren was so overwhelmed with gratitude that he nearly wept.
Although Jing Ren, Jing Zhong, and Jing Hai were just teenagers at the time, they were obedient to Master Xu Neng's every word. They never even considered disobeying him, let alone sneaking into the ancient tower. There was only one exception.
Jing Ren, Jing Zhong, and Jing Hai accidentally discovered that Master Xu Neng was sneaking into the ancient tower te at night, carrying something rge on his shoulder. Every night thereafter, they noticed the same thing, which puzzled them. Finally, one night, the three of them saw Master Xu Neng again. This time, they were close enough to see clearly what he was carrying—a bloodied person. The three of them were shocked. They didn't understand what was happening, but they were determined to follow him and find out.
Jing Ren, Jing Zhong, and Jing Hai quietly trailed behind Master Xu Neng to the bottom of the ancient tower. There were many rooms, but one room stood out as the cleanest.
Inside this room were only white walls and two broken chairs, yet when Master Xu Neng entered this clean room, he vanished.
"Could someone really disappear right under their noses?" Jing Ren, Jing Zhong, and Jing Hai decided to search the room thoroughly. At first, they found nothing, but when Jing Zhong discovered that one of the chairs couldn't be moved, they all sensed something was wrong. They tried various methods to manipute the chair's parts, hoping for an unexpected discovery.
Lao Fu casually gnced at the chair the old woman had been sitting in.
"Is this the chair you're talking about?" The old woman sneered and pointed to the chair beside her.
Lao Fu nodded slightly.
The old woman sneered again. "I've lived in this room for a long time, and I've sat in this chair for a long time as well. Yet, I've never noticed that it couldn't be moved, nor have I seen anything special about it!"
Lao Fu ignored her and continued with his story.
When the chair finally moved, a secret passage revealed itself. The three of them followed the stone steps down to a red door. Jing Ren, Jing Zhong, and Jing Hai had never imagined they would find such a rge door beneath the ancient tower. So, they all peered through a small crack in the door at the same time. Inside, they saw many candles, enough for them to clearly see what y beyond the door.
Lao Fu's eyelids twitched, and now even Xu Mama and Mo Bai were trembling slightly.
Kong Bei, affected by their reactions, felt his heart rise into his throat. He believed they must have seen something terrifying.
Lao Fu let out a soft sigh, gathering his courage before continuing his story.
Master Xu Neng was stitching beautiful clothes for the person he had just carried in. At first, this seemed perfectly normal, but as they looked around the room, they saw that there were over a hundred corpses lying there. Each body was dressed in a new set of clothes, but what was most disturbing was that their facial features had been sewn shut with red thread. Jing Ren immediately understood what that meant, but he didn′t know how these people had met their untimely deaths. The three of them could only feel a deep sense of shock and horror.
Despite their fear, they cautiously peered through the crack in the door again. Master Xu Neng had finished the new clothes sometime while they were watching and was now sitting at a desk in the corner of the room, writing something. However, the distance was too great, and the light too dim for them to make out what he was writing.
After Master Xu Neng finished writing, he left, and Jing Ren, Jing Zhong, and Jing Hai stayed behind, secretly pnning to see what he had written. They pushed open the door and rushed straight to the desk. The overwhelming stench almost caused them to faint, but they managed to hold on and looked toward the desk.
It was a ledger, a bck ledger with white writing. The moment the three of them saw it, they felt a wave of discomfort wash over them. In the end, it was Jing Ren who mustered the courage to open the eerie ledger.
The three of them almost simultaneously cried out in shock!
