Chapter 33: Repairs Completed

  Date 2275 August 23

  *Yawn*

"What time is it, Hauler?" I asked, as I was just waking up.

  "About 6:21 AM, boss."

  "Okay, thanks."

  "No problem, boss."

I spent a few more seds in bed before I got up and started getting ready for the big day I had pnned out for myself. The sed I was fully dressed and had taken care of all my hygienieeds, I began preparing a huge breakfast, a much rger ohan usual because I'll be on the move food portion of the day and don't know when I'll be able to spare a bit time to eat again. Therefore, I might as well fill up my tank as much as possible now.

Fifteen mier, I had all the food hot and ready, so I began shoveling the food down as fast as I could without choking for the simple fact that I don't really have time to waste today. As I was in the midst of h up my meal, I got tanizing my thoughts and going over what I had aplished these st four days.

I've made some halfway det progress since I stepped into this pce. My robots and I have pleted the repair of the 10 robot manufacturing maes, grown our numbers by an additional 83 worker bots, and upgraded the 10 old model sentry bots to my Mk II designs, which are now dispyed in my Pip-Boy.

As great as all that sounds, that is not all we've gotten done. We also verted 10 assaultrons to power armor patible assaultrons of my own design. The reason for the version is that there may be more power armor frames at the facility and if that's the case, there's no way I'll be able to move them all in one go, hehe reason for the version. Last but certainly not least, the produ of 9atliurrets that are now spread throughout both the interior as well as the exterior of the facility, along with the other 30 I made previously.

Other thaing all that pleted, the Pip-Boy gained a new fun as well over this period. A ab beled as Robots that gives me various informatiarding my robots as well as some of their stats, though it doesn't give me their armor values or damage output, which is unfortunate. But hopefully, that will ge i so distant future.

As for what was dispyed within the ab, this was all I was able to see as of this moment.

  [ Robots ]

  | Assaultron |Carry Capacity: 200Power: FusionValue: 7,500Description: A standard RobCo Assaultron fitted with cws and a powerful head ser to make it extremely deadly in close-quarters bat and just as deadly at medium-range es os powerful head ser is charged up. Designed by Robdustries.

  | Hauling Bot |Carry Capacity: 4,000Power: Fusion BreederValue: 10,000Description: A retively rge tracked robot that has a bed for moving materials from point a to point b, it also has an ied ser turret for dealing with any hostiles that might want to take whatever load it's transp. Designed by Harold Todd Woods.

  | Mining Bot |Carry Capacity: 300Power: Fusion BreederValue: 6,000Description: A bulky bipedal robot equipped with tutor arms with ied sers for using tools, moving materials, and stly for fending off hostiles that may be dwelling underground. Also equipped with an ore and mineral detector for finding veins of resources. Designed by Harold Todd Woods.

  | Mister Maintenance |Carry Capacity: 150Power: FusionValue: 2,000Description: A standard mister handy with all arms being maniputors so it perform its duties with an assortment of tools. Designed by General Atomiternational and refined in colboration with Robdustries.

  | Power Armor patible Assaultron |Carry Capacity: 200Power: Fusion BreederValue: 10,000Description: A heavily modified slim assaultron with updated programming to be patible with power armor frames, looks remarkably simir in appearao T-800 Terminator meshed with an Assaultron. Designed by Harold Todd Woods.

  | Prote |Carry Capacity: 250Power: FusionValue: 1,250Description: A standard run-of-the-mill RobCo Prote. This simple ky robot is capable of perf basic tasks and providing security with its built-in, low-powered ser.

  | Sentry Bot |Carry Capacity: 1,000Power: FusionValue: 17,500Description: Standard RobCo sentry bot usually fitted with a bination of a gatling or minigun and missile uhis bat robot should be avoided at all costs due to the amount of armor they have and how much damage they deal in an instant. Designed by Robdustries.

  | Sentry Bot Mk II |Carry Capacity: 2,000Power: Fusion BreederValue: 40,000Robot Description: A heavily modified jet bck sentry bot equipped with signifitly increased armor, two six barreled gatling sers, two shoulder-mounted hive missile unchers, an improved power system that fixes the cooling issue of standard Robits, and a multitude of other miseous upgrades that improve its various parameters over its predecessor. Designed by Harold Todd Woods.

  | Worker Bot |Carry Capacity: 350Power: Fusion BreederValue: 3,500Robot Description: A bipedal robot designed with maniputor arms that are simir in appearao human arms and hands so it easily use different tools for any job that it's assigo. The hands also have ied sers that have the equivalent firepower of a standard ser rifle. Also has ied jets so it perform work on things that require the robot to be able to reach a certai though it won't be able to perform that sort of task if it's required to lift a rge amount of weight at the same time. Designed by Harold Todd Woods.

Besides achieving all that with my robots, I also decided to make myself a gatling ser as well after I had finished fabrig all the gatliurrets. The stats on the on were quite impressive, if I do say so myself.

  | Purge |Damage: 45DPS: 750-4,500Fire rate: 1,000 - 6,000Resistaotal DT 230, DT 60 Front, DT 170 RearWeight: 250Ammo Type: Fusion Breeder ReactorValue: 69,500Attats: Laser Sight, Heavy on SlingDescription: Aremely heavy huge 6-barreled gatling ser with an armored quick-release fusion breeder reactor backpack for when the reactor is promised and an armored shield was attached towards where the barrels of the on begins to provide additional prote to the wearer as well as the on's main pos from damage.

Not as strong as my Mulcher, but I don't have to worry about ammo at all when using it, so the only thing to be ed about with it is heat. That said, the six rotating barrels help massively with managing that aspect of the on.

When I got doting my new gatliogether, I decided to put an armored shield on my Mulcher too since I added oe already. So I did and the only tradeoff was an increase in its weight by 20 pounds, but as a be of that extra weight, it gave me an additional 60 DT of prote where a majority of my vital ans were located. On top of that, it provided a det increase to the on's durability, so the tradeoff i wasn't that bad of a deal overall.

Moving on to the bit, from pleting this rge assortment of different tasks these st 4 days along with some w out, I saw an increase in my strength and endurance S.P.E.C.I.A.L.s as well as a number of my skills. Which was a wele surprise, but I had a feeling that they were both nearing another increase, so it wasn't all that surprising in the end, I suppose.

After going over my ret progress, my thoughts tio meander from oopic to another as I tinued spooning away at my meal.

Ten mier, I figured out roject I was gonna assign my worker bots to and several minutes from that point, I finally finished getting the st bit of food down. So, with nutrient requirements met for at least a few hours, I got off my ass and threw my gear on. As soon as I had my loadout equipped, I headed over to the manufacturing area to use Mechu-deru on the newly produced worker bots. Ohat was handled, I had half of my worker bots start ing and repairing this pce from top to bottom.

The other half I had split between assisting the manufacturing area, verting the power pnts down in the lower level from fusion to fusion breeder, aing food produ up and running. Along with that, I also issued a new order for any new worker bots rolling off the produ lihat order was for them to begin scrapping all the ruined cars in the parking lot out in front of my facility. Those wrecks will provide me with ample materials for the produ of even more robots food while.

With all of that taken care of, I got a few other things squared away before I had my power armor patible assaultrons follow me towards the frorance of the facility with ser rifles as of mfc grenades equipped.

It took a bit, but I eventually arrived at the frorah my robots trailing right behihe instant reached there; I checked over my gear one final time before I headed out of the front door that I had now repced with a heavily armored bst door to beef up the defenses of my newly acquired base even further.

Walking outside, I pulled up my Pip-Boy map to check what route I wao take, even though I recall it visually in my head. heless, the map could be updated at some point with new locations, thus I should check it whenever I get a sed to make sure I don't miss anything new.

A few went by before I finished going over the map, deg what route I wao take and cheg the map for any new locations, of which there were none in the capital wastend from what I could see. Though there were a few new locations popping up across the p, as well as beyond it, in space.

But the locations beyond the p are not really something I o be worried abht now, sihe locations are not even in the sor system. They also don't appear to be military in nature from what I tell, and even if they were, I have no feasible way now of doing anything about it at this moment.

As for the route, I decided to go with the ohat will have me go north back to the crossroads I came frinally. And when I get there, I will travel east on the main road towards the Fairfax Ruins, which should be raider trolled. So I'll be expeg quite a bit of resistance from those scum once I arrive in the viity of the ruins.

From there, I'll get on a smaller road that branches off from the Fairfax Ruins towards the south. That road will then pass through another main road before brang off again towards the east, passing iween the Red Racer Factory to the north and my destination, the VSS Facility to the south. After arriving at that point, the pce was blocked with a ton of rubble in the game, so I'll probably o find the Bailey's Crossroads Metro entrao cut through the metro tuo actually reach it.

On my way there I might also enter super mutants, so I'll be keeping Mulcher out for this whole trip unless I enter a super mutant behemoth. In that case, I'll pull bad see if I 't take it out with my Anti-Material Rifle loaded with APE (armor pierg explosive) rounds. If that doesn't do the trick, I'll retreat and wait to see if it wanders off. And if not, I'll have to e back with heavier firepower... Maybe a Fatman mininuke uncher.

The moment I was done going over my route and including going over a bunch of hypotheticals with my other thought processes, I made my way through the parking lot towards the road heading north. No more than ten minutes in, I arrived at the interse that my group came frinally with my robots following right behind me, and right as we came up on the four-way interseg road, I sed the area for any potential threats. Spending a couple moments sing, I didn't spot anything other than a pack of feral dogs in the distance, so we tinued pressing on toward the east, following the main road.

Another 10 minutes went by as my robots and I tinued moving towards the east down the road and while we were traveling doworn-up asphalt road, we tinuously sed our surroundings for any potential dangers. As we kept headi, I spotted a roaming group of super mutants. Not wanting to get close to them, I issued a signal for my robots to hold up for a sed so I could see what kind of super mutants we were dealing with and what kind of ons ahey were armed with.

With my robots ing to a stop, I whipped out my A-21 Anti-Material Rifle and looked down its scope. them for a few seds, I saw I was dealing with a group of 12 sickly yellow-green super mutants around 1,000 meters out. Nine of which were normal super mutants, from what I could tell. The other three were twer brutes and an even rger super mutant master.

As for their gear, I could see the regur super mutants had 6 R91 Assault Rifles and 3 Type 93 ese Assault Rifles. The two super mutant brutes, oher hand, were using 5mm Miniguns and the super mutant master was using a Browning M2 50-caliber mae gun.

Damn, they're fug huge. The games really didn't do them justice... Their massive frames aside, I guess I'll be fog on the master first unless I want to risk taking a round that could easily rip through a good portion of my armor. My armor around my chest area could probably prevent the round from peing, but I'd much rather not take the risk of possible death when I deal with the threat from afar.

Done cheg them out, I took aim at the super mutant master's head and fired one shot off with my A-21 Anti-Material Rifle, releasing a deafening gunshot into the surrounding enviro. About a sed ter, as I was chambering a new round, I saw my shot was off by a smidge so I only mao take a small k off the side of his head, unfortunately.

As soon as I had the round chambered, I lined up another shot within a split sed and pulled the trigger again as the super mutants were beginning to react to what just happeo the super mutant master, who was most likely the group's leader.

A brief sed ter, I saw my shot was on point, this time around sihe super mutant master's head just exploded like a watermelon being shot by a high-caliber rifle. Whilst its body was starting to fall towards the asphalt, I racked a new round into my A-21 Anti-Material Rifle as the group of super mutants were turning towards me due to me firing unsuppressed.

Once I had the new round chambered, I put away my A-21 Anti-Material Rifle and sed back over to my Mulcher gatling gun that was slung oill and took aim at the group of super mutants and right as I took aim at the group of super mutants they released a cacophony of battle cries before they then started charging over towards my position.

As soon as they started charging over, I issued a and to my robots to get prone on the ground so they could reduce their size and make themselves as hard as possible to hit. When they were all prone, I had them all start firing off their AER9 Laser Rifles at the charging mutants that were still quite a ways out.

Within 30 seds of giving my order, my robots mao take out 5 of the regur super mutants, which retty good given the rahey were at. However, as the seds ticked on, the group of super mutants were beginning to get within the rahat their ons could start to do damage.

  *Snap-Snap-Snap*

Now that I had a few rounds whizzing past me, I believe it's time I've dealt with the rest of them to prevent any issues from . Definitely don't want any damage to e to my robots and myself, especially now when we're out trying to plete a mission.

Immediately after finishing that thought, I pointed Mulcher in their general dire with my ser sight on the leading super mutant and spooled it before I thehe trigger for a few seds, releasing a storm of lead at a fire rate of 2,000 rpm.

  *Brrrrrrt-*

As I was firing, I watched the bullets I was sending de, shredding the group bit by bit while also ripping ks of flesh from their frames. From those holes I utting in them, I saw blood gush forth from their bodies before they then finally began falling over one by one, colpsing onto the weathered pavement.

When I assumed they were all dead, I let go of the trigger and stopped spooling the on. Once Mulcher's multiple barrels stopped spinning, a bit of smoke began leaking out the end of the barrels courtesy of the 100 7.62 rounds I had just finished firing off.

A moment ter, I said aloud with quite a bit of excitement in my voice. "Damn, this gun is a beast,"

I'll definitely have to take my time going through the Fairfax Ruins just so I have a bit of fun with it. But before that, let's go check the spoils. Hopefully, their guns are worth taking with us.

Following that, I sent a signal with Mechu-deru to my robots to get up from their prone positions and follow me. Thus, with that new order issued, I made my way over to the super mutant corpses to see if they had anything of value worth taking with me.
