Ch. 69 – The Great War! [6]

“If you’re truly a devil. Then is it true that your kind has a way to make us powerful?” An unknown middle-aged wizard stepped forward with a question, greed evident in his eyes.

The others, albeit feeling a bit weird from his question, were also curious about the ahat I’d give.

How wonderful, out of all the questions they could ask me, they asked if I could make them powerful.

“If I really do that, then there’s no point of me asking you to pledge your allegiao me.” In yman’s terms, my vague answer equals to ‘No’.

The crowd grew disheartened by my answer and I already feel some of them wanting to leave already.

Sigh, humaruly knows no bounds, no matter what era they’re in.

“If that’s yoal on why you are here, then I would kindly ask you to leave the tower. People who crave power is less likely to get it than someone who don’t.” With that being said, a simple fliy hand jured several portals underh the feet of those greedy wizards before swallowing them whole, not even managing to voice out a scream of fear.

“Anyone else?” My cold eyes sed around the remainihan a hundred wizards. Obviously, there are nreedy wizards among them, I’m simply establishing dominance here.

Unless of course the said wizards are able to swallow their greed and hide it from me earlier which is almost impossible for someone like me who read a person like an open book.

“To those who are still here, my offer still stands. Pledge your allegiao me and the Mystic Society’s doors are open for you. We may not be strong now but we would grow. My only promise to you is that as long as you’re under my umbrel, no harm will e on your way.” I decred, before tinuing but in my mind.

‘Unless of course, under certain circumstances.’

I ’t say that out loud obviously, it would just destroy their expressions full of revereowards me.

’t have them decreasing now, do we?

Once everyoayed and none dared to move an inch, I smiled.

“Wele to the Mystic Society, wizards and witches.” My words were greeted by howls of excitement from the wizards, as if they’ve finally found a new home for the likes of them.

After all, the human world is harsh to them, especially to the witches whom people started huntily.

‘This is my people…My allies.’ I couldn’t help but slightly tear up at the sight of them, juring meads as out of nothing to feast upon.

My vision is slowly ing true. To stand at the pinnacle of this world.

  ***

“These will be your new rings.” I said while letting several rings I fetched from the study room float around them.

I have prepared hundreds of these just in case after learning how to create them, although less than a hundred joined.

“They’re ented with several of my ruhink of it like your own magigs but more powerful and open portals like what I did earlier.” I expined, introdug the new effects of the Magigs to them.

“As for the Portal juration, Balthazar would be the oo teach you on that field. Oher hand, once you lear, I would be your eacher. I’ll teach you all about my ow of magic spells called the Mystic Arts. It requires no magic circles, calcutions and you cast them even without yigs.”

To demonstrate, I jured two whips on both of my hands and waved it around them before they morphed into Tao Mandases.

I showcased more of the Mystic Arts spells such as the Mirror Dimension which they cmored as the stro spell they’ve seen.

Images of Ikkon, which they deemed very versatile and lifesaver.

Forced Astral Proje, which is useful against physically strong oppos but weak in spirit.

Transmutation, which they pared to their own traditional Transmutation spell before deg mine as stronger aer.

I showed them many more, ensuring that they would learn all of it and bee a powerhouse in the universe.

Although I didn’t learn many spells ba Kamar-Taj during my stay there but thanks to my Marvel ematiiverse knowledge, specifically on Dr. Strange, I mao replicate most of the spells through Devil Magic, powered by my imagination.

So far, I mao replicate the Images of Ikkon, Shield of the Seraphim, Sword of Vishanti, and even the infamous Crimson Bands of Cyytorak in which he added an effect of once you’re bound by it, you wouldn’t be able to use your mana as it would block the el, so you only use physical strength to get out of it.

Settling the new wizards and witches to their respective rooms, I finally returo my study room, sitting on the chair and leaning back with a satisfied sigh.

‘Although we’re still small and g in numbers. But I’ll make sure that in no time, our popution would reach more than a million, perhaps.’

Maybe I should start a school? For wizards and witches. Like Hogwarts. Now that’ll be something worth trying.

“So many p why does it seems like I have so little time? Is it because of the uping Great War? Is that it?” I muttered to myself while staring at the ceiling.

“I should get some sleep. I need rest. I haven’t slept for like a month, I think?” Closing my eyes, I kept muttering under my breath until I feel the darkness closing it and drowsiness engulfing me.

  ***

“How troublesome. I could’ve enjoyed myself in the human world and instead, here I am, searg for dad’s father’s killer. How fantastic.” Yawning, Hermes intensified the fp of boots’ wings, throttling his speed faster.

A few weeks earlier, after disc that the titan of Time, Kronos was killed from Tartarus, the entire Greek Pantheon grew armed and they sent him, the God of travels to search for the killer.

A heavy yet muask for someone like him.

Searg for the Titan Lord’s killer is like searg for a needle in a haystack.

If this killer indeed killed the Lord of Time, Kronos, no doubt they would be strong enough to hide their traces.

It’s simply impossible even for him, to find a person like that.

Not to mention, he’s simply a God of Travel not hunting, in fact, this should’ve been his half-sister’s task, not his.

Artemis is the Goddess of Hunt, she should be the one doing this job, not him.

The only reason behind it is because Artemis has long distanced herself from Mount Olympus, almost impossible to tact.

“I should defiake some rest. It’s not like dad is expeg me to find the killer in a month. A year isn’t even that long for us.” With a sigh, Hermes stretched his limbs and flew towards the civilization that he sensed.

Landing far away from the vilge, Hermes pced an illusion over his figure, morphing his appearance from godly to average.

This is the best way to blend in with humans, after all. Bee average like them.

“Halt! A piece of silver for entry, please!” Walking straight to the front gates, Hermes found himself face-to-face with the guards

“ht.” Hermes muttered to himself before presenting his palm where a piece of leaf rested.

The guards looked at it and one might think they would sh out on Hermes, but uedly, they smiled and allowed him to enter.

“Wele to our humble vilge!” With a nod of his head, Hermes entered.

‘Humans are seriously weak against such things, falling for such a simple illusion.’ Hermes smirked to himself, mog the vulnerability of humans to supernatural things.

Roaming the vilge’s premises, Hermes finally found a pce to rest, an inn where he rented a room for ‘free’.

“Tsk. This bed is too hard.” Hermes pined, feeling a bit unfortable from the bed in an inn room.

With nothing else to do and the bed just giving him back pain, Hermes decided to explore more of the vilge he found himself.

“First, the Tavern. I need a good drink after flying for a whole day.”

  ***

I don’t know how long has passed when I finally woke up in my study.

“Shit! I fot my students! I was supposed to traioday!” Spping myself on the forehead, I quickly jured a portal and crossed, entering the Sanctum San.

I spread my senses around the Snactum and sehem gathering iraining grounds.

They’re still training? It’s already midnight?!

Just as I was about to approach them, I immediately frowned when I noticed that they’re not alohere’s an unfamiliar magical signature among them.

I should’ve focused on pg defensive runes on the Sanctum San first! Dammit!

Didn’t I tell them to not talk ters?

Marg towards the training grounds, I prepared myself for aable battle.

Sure I’m just a High-css devil but if we’re talking about my overall capabilities including teiques and experience, I might not be less than someone who just entered Ultimate-css.

Yes, that’s how fident I am in myself.

Through the heavens and the earth, I alone, am the fident one.

I got that from my nerdy co-worker ba my previous life.

Slowly ing towards the entrance of the training grounds, my sharp ears hear what’s happening inside.

“Heh~ you really do that, Peter?” The first voice I heard was Tam’s.

‘Peter? Who the fuck is that?’ My eyebrows furrowed. The reply soon came after, ing from a light tone voice of a man, not too heavy but also not too light. It sounds like someone who has just eheir puberty.

“Of course! I’ll show you! I really fly!”

  ‘Wait. Peter? Fly? Peter Pan?!’
