Dreadfort CastlePOV of Domeric Bolton
The Greyjoys had risen in rebellion against the 7 kingdoms and started the rebellion by attag the Westernds.
Did they really think that they would win the rebellion?
It was unlikely. But now that they have smashed the fleet of the Lannisters, the only sizable fleets that remained intact were the Redwyne fleet and the Royal fleet. If the Ironborns were able to defeat these two fleets in the sea, then they'd have an open passport to raid and raze through the coast of the ey of Westernds.
He didn't know he this Iro was and was doubtful that it was capable of destroying the two other fleets.
But even if they did, it was uhat Robert Baratheon would just accept his defeat and allow the Iron Isnds to gain independence.
So even if the Iro won (which was unlikely in his mind), and the Ironborn raided and razed the entire coastal area of Westeros North and Reach, Robert Baratheon and the other kingdoms would just raise another fleet and fight again and again until the Ironborns are brought to their heels.
And the rest of the kingdoms would definitely support Robert because everyoes the Ironborns.
"What are your orders, My Lord?" Maester Wolkan asked.
"Send news for the levies and the banell them to vene in Dreadfort within two weeks. We'll leave for Winterfell from there." he said and the maester bowed before leaving.
Ohe maester left his aunt turo look at him with a slightly worried gaze and asked "Who is going to lead the army?"
He raised an amused eyebrow at that "I am of course."
"No. Definitely not. I'll not allow you to go to war at such a young age. There are many experienced men in Dreadfort who had taken part in Robert's Rebellion. I'm pretty sure that they lead your armies in your stead. Plus, you're a 7-year-old boy and the st of your family. No sane person would bme you if you don't participate in the war."
He her words but also khat he had to go to the Iron Isnds for a personal reason.
If they lost, then he would be able to retreat with what remains of his army properly.
And if they won the war (which was likely to happen) against the Iron Isnds then he would be able to poach a lot of the miners and shipbuilders from those isnds as well. After all, the Iron Isnds were given that name because of the rge amount of iron mines in those isnds. The shipbuilders in the Iron Isnds were no doubt the most talented shipbuilders in all of Westeros.
Then there was the fact that he nning on finally selling the refed Valyriao Tywin Lannister and poag some talented smiths, miners, woodworkers, and architects from Lannisport as well.
It took him another half an hour to vince Aunt Barbrey that he'd only lead the army and stay away from any real battles. She was of course not happy with his decision ahe room with a stormy expression. He doubted that the few days with her were going to be easy. But she's family and he would not use pulsion charms to influeny of her decisions.
The Ironborn Rebellion also reminded him of something that he'd ignored up until this point.
He'd probably have to employ a Master of Whisperer very soon if he wao remain informed about the things going around in the world.
‘Oh well, ohing at a time I guess.’

Winterfell CastlePOV of Domeric Bolton
To say that the Northern lords were surprised or even shocked to see a 7-year-old boy leading 3,000 men on the back of a bck direwolf would be an uatement.
Literally, no one had expected him to join in the war efforts and some of the lords even told him to return his castle. Lord Rickard Karstark was rather vocal with his choice of words and treated him like a child, which admittedly he was.
But he was also the Lord of Dreadfort. Something that Lord Karstark should not have fotten. And that was something he'd be sure to remind him iure in one way or another.
Unfortunately, he was not allowed t Grim ient and he didn't want to use magic to intimidate so many people. In case someone might figure out that there was something wrong.
So, every other lord treated him like a child which irritated him to no end. No one asked his opinions at the war table even though he had some good suggestions to give. As the Head Auror, and having fought in a magical war himself, he was well-versed in battle tactics.
Regardless, it took two more weeks for the other lords to vene in Winterfell. He spent most of his time with Robb Stark and Sansa Stark, using pulsion charms to make Robb a loyal friend to him.
It was rather despicable of him to influence a child’s mind like this, but he already khat this was a cruel world, and he wouldn't take any risk if possible. So, if he could bee friends with the heir of the Winterfell and the future Lord Paramount and Warden of the North, then he would do it.
He also made sure to apparate back to Dreadfort now and then to make sure that the stru work in the port was going well. He had also sent 10 trading ships under him to Lannisport. Because he would hose ships for the miners and other craftsmen that he wao transport to Dreadfort.
At the same time, he also started training his levies i of war. Mainly training in formations, tactics, marg, etc. He khat he would have to create a standing army for his nds sooner or ter as levies are just not very practical. And these men would be the ones who'll form the base of his standing army.
Once most of the lords from all across the North had arrived, they started their slow march to the o join Robert Baratheon's huge host near Seagard where Balon Greyjoy's eldest soly suffered a defeat and perished.
