Half the island of Tibik is missing. Or that's how the stories tell it. No one alive has seen both sides of the island, but it is clear there's part missing, so it might as well be half. The southern side of the island is a flat plane where the tallest of the volcanic peaks was bisected straight down into the sea, into a deep trench created by the same cut. A sword cut, from the ages past when empires tried to overpower the very world itself, and individuals attempted to defy death itself by concentrating the world's power until it crippled them.
The south of the island hosts the Simmering Rock Sect. Here this is Volk, the half volcano, Tib, and Von, the other two largest and still active peaks of the range. The area surrounding the two and a half peaks is a lush steam forest, fed by hot springs in abundance in this part of the mountain range. The steam forest has plants and creatures unlike the rest of the arctic island, where the canopy traps the steam before it can all escape.
Lava tubes run throughout the mountains of the islands, and are the primary routes of travel between the several small communities on the surface of the island. A central cavern known as Nok surrounds an underground lagoon, and connects most of the largest tubes on the island. It is the center of commerce for the inhabitants of the island, and the second largest population center on the island.

North of the mountain ranges, the mountains give way to hills. Some of which is inhabited by small farming clans. Beyond the mountains the island stretches out into a wide rocky beach, over two leagues wide. It is home to a complex tide-pool system running under the rocky surface that provides most of the island's food supply. On the western side of the beach, two of the six inlets on the island serve as the harbors for the fishing boats of the island, and the rare vessel that comes from abroad for trade. Near these two harbors, is the town of Konch, hosting the largest population of people on the island, and named for the massive shell of an ancient creature resembling a sea snail found in the tide-pools. It serves as a break-wind for the town from the frozen easterly winds.
The rest of the beach, and the island's remaining harbors are the territory of Lucor, the Walrus King, who is the undisputed heavyweight champ of the island, and is the most powerful being who lives on the island. He hunts the perimeter of the island and battles the creatures that would rise from the depths to the south to feed on his herd. His herd occupies most of the island's beach, and frequents the foothills. The walrus population outnumbers the humans on the island 3 to 1.
