Chapter 19 - The Reckoning

The internet was ablaze, and Titan’s name was in the mix.

A clip of Reckoner, a Twisted Fate player who Titan faced against in Go4LoL 1, had gone viral. In it, he leaned into his webcam, a cocky smirk on his face, and declared, “I’m hitting rank 1 this season. The other mids—scarra, Reginald, bigfatlp—they’re overrated. And Titan? Don’t even get me started. He’s a fraud. Dude lucked out with his Go4LoL runs. Let’s see him try to outrank me this season.”

The clip exploded on Twitter, Reddit, and even made its way into Green Tipped Bananas’ Discord. BladeSong was the first to ping it.

  > Balls: “@Titan he’s coming for you ??”

  > Hai: “Dude’s ego is off the charts.”

  > Nior: “Interesting.”

Titan, sitting at his desk, watched the clip again. Reckoner wasn’t just throwing shade; he was calling out the entire mid-lane ecosystem. It was bold, reckless even—but Titan couldn’t deny it was working. Reckoner’s Twitch viewership had skyrocketed, and the ranked ladder buzzed with anticipation.

“Fraud, huh?” Titan muttered, a faint smile tugging at his lips. “Guess I’ll see for myself.”

Later that night, Titan queued up for ranked. As the loading screen appeared, his eyes widened. The lobby was stacked.

  Blue Team:

  - Top: Hai

  - Jungle: Crumbzz

  - Mid: Titan

  - Bot: BladeSong

  - Support: Asylum

  Red Team:

  - Top: Valkrin

  - Jungle: Saintvicious

  - Mid: Reckoner

  - Bot: Aphromoo

  - Support: Nior

Titan’s heart raced as he realized what was about to happen. This wasn’t just a game; it was a stage. Reckoner was on the enemy team, and the lobby’s collective skill level meant this match would be analyzed and talked about for days.

Before the minions spawned, Reckoner’s trash talk began.

  > Reckoner: “Finally, Titan. I’ve been waiting to expose you. Free LP incoming.”

  BladeSong couldn’t resist firing back.

  > BladeSong: “You already got exposed when we beat you in Go4LoL 1. Guess you didn't learn your lesson.”

Titan ignored the chat, his focus narrowing. This wasn’t about words—it was about gameplay.

The game began with standard lanes, but it didn’t take long for Reckoner to reveal his strategy. Playing Twisted Fate, he prioritized shoving the wave with Wild Cards and Red Card, then immediately looked for roams. In the first five minutes, he left lane twice, heading bot both times.

Unauthorized duplication: this tale has been taken without consent. Report sightings.

Titan, on Kassadin, made the call to match him with Teleport. The first roam ended in a one-for-one trade, with BladeSong securing the kill on Aphromoo. The second roam, however, caught Titan’s team off-guard. Reckoner’s Destiny Gate placed him perfectly behind BladeSong, allowing Aphromoo and Nior to clean up for a double kill.

  Reckoner taunted in chat.

  > Reckoner: “Stay in your lane, fraud.”

Titan shook his head, refusing to rise to the bait. “Focus,” he muttered to himself. “Don’t let him tilt you.”

The mid-game was a chess match. Reckoner’s Twisted Fate controlled the tempo, but Titan adapted, using Kassadin’s mobility to match the roams more effectively. When Reckoner dove top to help Valkrin secure a kill on Hai, Titan pulled ahead in farm and experience.

But Reckoner’s map pressure was relentless. At 18 minutes, he coordinated with Saintvicious and Nior to force a 4v2 dive bot. BladeSong and Asylum narrowly escaped with their lives, but the turret fell.

  Titan typed in team chat:

  > “They’re playing for bot. Let’s force top tower and trade.”

  Hai responded instantly:

  > “On it.”

The trade evened the gold difference, but the pressure was mounting. Reckoner’s Twisted Fate was snowballing his side lanes, and Kassadin wasn’t at his power spike yet.

The pivotal moment came at 26 minutes. Both teams converged at Baron. Reckoner used Destiny to scout, revealing Titan’s positioning near the flank.

“Don’t let Kassadin in,” Reckoner called to his team.

The fight was chaotic. Balls’s Malphite ulted into the backline, hitting Dyrus and Aphromoo, but Nior’s Black Shield on Reckoner prevented him from being locked down. Titan found his opening, Riftwalking into the fray to burst down Aphromoo, but Reckoner peeled back, stunning Titan with a Gold Card and finishing him off with Wild Cards.

The fight ended in a 3-for-3 trade, but Reckoner’s team secured the Baron.

  > Reckoner: “Sit down, Titan.”

Titan smirked, adrenaline pumping. He’d been outplayed, but the game wasn’t over yet. Kassadin hit level 16.

  Kassa-win (Bronze) Activated: Clutch +5

By the 35-minute mark, the game was neck-and-neck. Titan had finally hit his power spike, and Kassadin’s mobility made him a nightmare in skirmishes. In one pivotal fight, he baited Reckoner into overcommitting mid. Titan Riftwalked into a bush, playing around Reckoner’s Gold Card, and deleted Aphromoo with a quick combo. With Aphromoo down, BladeSong cleaned up the fight with Tristana.

“Lets go!” BladeSong celebrated over comms.

But Reckoner wasn’t done. At 40 minutes, with both teams posturing around Baron, Reckoner made the play of the game. He teleported behind Titan’s team with Destiny Gate, landing a Gold Card on Hai and forcing a chaotic split. Saintvicious followed up with Cataclysm, trapping BladeSong and Asylum. Aphromoo’s damage tore through them.

Titan tried to salvage the fight, Riftwalking into the backline to assassinate Reckoner, but Nior’s timely Black Shield was too much. The fight ended in a decisive ace for Reckoner’s team.

  Defeat.

The post-game chat was predictably explosive.

  > Reckoner: “GG EZ.”

  > BladeSong: “Delusional.”

  > Hai: “ggwp.”

Titan typed only one thing before leaving the lobby:

  > “Well played, Reckoner.”

Later that night, Titan reviewed the replay. He studied Reckoner’s roams, his wave management, and his positioning. Reckoner wasn’t just a loudmouth—he was good. Titan’s respect for him grew, even as he noted the mistakes that cost them the game.

“This isn’t the last time,” Titan muttered, his eyes narrowing as he watched Reckoner’s Twisted Fate close out the match. “Next time, I’ll be ready.”

  The rivalry was just beginning.
