27: One Person Takes Down the Entire Field!

The Emperor's envoy was finally unleashing his full power.

At that moment, a chill ran through the crowd as they sensed the dark aura emanating from the imposing figure before them.

  “Today, I shall bury you!”

The envoy's voice was cold, indifferent. As he spoke, arcane symbols began to form at his fingertips, swirling like ghostly shadows.

The sigils multiplied with unnatural speed, their forms blurring into a storm of magical energy. In mere moments, an entire sea of glowing symbols appeared behind him, each one representing a different spell. They surged forward like an unstoppable tidal wave, targeting Eirik with lethal intent.

“By royal decree: Endless Tidal Surge!”

Selene gasped in disbelief. “I can’t believe the Emperor's envoy wields that spell. He must have the Emperor’s trust to command such power! Eirik is in real trouble now!”

The name of the spell echoed in the air, drawing grim looks from the crowd.

Endless Tidal Surge was a legendary magic of the Dawnstar Dynasty. Forged by the founding emperor, it was said to have leveled entire battlefields, used to slay three demon lords that had ravaged the land. The mere mention of it brought fear to even the most battle-hardened.

Though the Emperor's envoy lacked the strength of the founding emperor, wielding this spell still made him a formidable opponent.

As the magic began to churn, Eirik remained composed. A flicker of light sparked in his eyes, and the air around him shimmered with the appearance of runes—mysterious, ancient, and powerful.

  “Cosmic Veil...”

Eirik whispered, and the runes unfurled like a mist, expanding outward in all directions. In the blink of an eye, the world around them shifted. The sun, moon, and stars vanished, replaced by a murky gray haze. The very fabric of reality seemed to distort, trapping them in an ethereal void.

Within this fog, Eirik's eyes glowed with an eerie, otherworldly light, like the source of all creation itself. In this strange space, he seemed more spirit than man, exuding an aura of unfathomable mystery.

“Cosmic Veil... Is that a power granted by the Eye of Divine Insight?” someone murmured, stunned by the sight.

Indeed, Cosmic Veil was a skill born from the Eye of Divine Insight. It drew upon the wielder's mastery over the cosmos and their heightened perception of reality itself.

As the envoys' spells continued to swirl, their once-impressive power now seemed utterly insignificant in the face of Eirik's counter. The sigils, though numerous and potent, felt like child's play against the impenetrable veil he had summoned.

This tale has been unlawfully lifted from Royal Road; report any instances of this story if found elsewhere.

“I didn’t expect your Eye of Divine Insight to awaken to this extent...” The Emperor’s envoy faltered, his voice betraying a moment of shock. His confidence quickly turned to unease as he raised his sword, preparing for an all-out assault.

The clash that followed was nothing short of cataclysmic. Lightning seemed to split the very heavens as the two forces collided—magic and metal, fury and power. Trees were reduced to splinters, and the ground trembled beneath their feet. Spectators scrambled to flee, while others found themselves too close to the blast radius, their spirits shattered by the sheer force of the exchange.

After what felt like an eternity, one figure fell from the sky, shattered like glass. The sigils surrounding him scattered into the air, as if the very elements had rejected him.

  Boom!

The earth shuddered with the force of the impact. A massive crater formed in the ground, dust and debris scattering in all directions. Within it, the Emperor’s envoy lay crumpled, pale and gasping for breath, unable to comprehend what had just happened.

“Your... Eye of Divine Insight isn’t just newly awakened... I’m defeated.” His words were barely a whisper, his eyes wide with disbelief.

Eirik’s expression remained unchanged. “You’re mistaken. I truly awakened it just today.” He shook his head slightly, as if dismissing the envoy’s attempts to understand. With a flick of his wrist, he struck.

  Thud!

A blinding beam shot from Eirik's eyes, piercing straight through the envoy's skull. The crowd gasped in unison, paralyzed by the brutality of the moment.

“You... you really dared to kill the Emperor’s envoy?!” The onlookers from Aelsryel were frozen, their shock palpable. The envoy was no mere soldier—he was a high-ranking official, a trusted aide to the Emperor himself!

And now, he was dead. At the hands of this youth.

“What’s there to be afraid of?” Eirik’s voice was ice-cold as he turned toward the crowd. “You should be more concerned about yourselves.”

With a chilling grin, he began to walk toward them. The crowd, now filled with dread, recoiled in fear, retreating in waves. They had come to bully the weak with the Emperor’s envoy at their backs, but no one had expected a force like Eirik—someone who would actually kill the envoy without a second thought.

“Today, all of you shall die.” Eirik’s smile twisted into something far more sinister. He raised his hand, ready to eliminate anyone in his path.

One by one, the would-be attackers fell before him. No one escaped. Not a single soul.

“Holy crap!” Pixie stood frozen, speechless. She could hardly believe her eyes. My husband is truly incredible!

She had expected a protracted battle, perhaps requiring the strength of their entire family to survive. But now, Eirik had single-handedly decimated the opposition. The scale of his power was beyond anything she had ever imagined.

“I remember someone saying earlier that my husband was just a support character. Now, what do you think? Does this look like support to you?” Pixie grinned, hands on her hips, utterly delighted.

“Killing all the enemies counts as support too, doesn’t it?” someone in the crowd muttered from the shadows.

Meanwhile, Eirik stood amidst the carnage, a sense of satisfaction welling up inside him. He had suspected that the Eye of Divine Insight held immense power, but this… this was far beyond anything he had expected.

The battles against Savant-level foes in the game had ignited a fierce excitement within him. He could already picture himself mastering this ability in reality.

“Cosmic Veil, using the power of the runes in my eyes to create a chaotic sea of fog, separating my enemies from reality... this is incredible.”

Eirik couldn’t help but feel a surge of ambition.

If the simulator allowed him to use this move, then in time, he could certainly wield it in the real world as well.

The game continued, and the air around Eirik seemed to hum with energy as waves of cheers rose from behind him.
