Melody had gotten off Alure and was flying through the skies to Rui. Her little sister was being too reckless and trying too hard to prove herself. Thanks to the new boosts from the blessings, she was slightly faster than the dragon empress, who was trying to keep up.
Melody readied her bow and began charging her magic into it. The nature magic collected and fused, forming into a beautiful arrow.
“Nature’s Wrath.” She growled. The red aura of the new wrath activated and absorbed into the arrow, shifting its color from green to golden. “I will not let you harm my family, you bastard!”

Rui lumbered through the forest in her wood golem. She stopped as she could sense Rul was quickly coming. “This should be good!”
She called out to the trees and gave them her magic to form a multitude of tripwires. Her goal was to trip Rul and unleash a Solar Crash right in his ugly face. Then she would have the trees tie him down to the ground and keep him in place until Grandpa could move Mom.
Rui waited. Her heart was beating in her head as she watched for the enemy. After a few minutes, she saw him coming her way. She snickered at how good her plan was.
A little longer, Rui wondered why he was taking so long. Looking again, she then became nervous. The titan was far bigger than she thought.
It was then that she felt it. The deaths of various plant life in his path. It was like wherever he stepped, plant life died. Her plan wasn’t going to work!
She moved to escape, but he ended up snagging her trip wires and fell onto his face.
“DAMNIT! You damn weeds!” Rul roared as he got up to his hands and knees. His face turned to glare at Rui. “Hmm?” He eyed her. “A child giant?”
“S-Solar Crash!” Rui unleashed her stored energy into Rul’s face.
Rul cried out in pain as he was both scorched and blinded at the same time. He swung his arm toward her.
Rui panicked and used her wood golem to form a protective barrier around herself. The blow was impossibly heavy, far heavier than her grandpa’s. She coughed up a bit of blood as she flew through the air and crashed back into the ground.
“You damn bitch! I will make you scream and beg for me to kill you!” Rul yelled, trying to get his eyesight back.
Rui, covered in cuts and bruises, crawled out of her wood golem while using healing magic on herself. She messed up. She should have listened to Grandpa.
“Where are you!?” Rul stood and began looking around for Rui, but the trees were helping to obscure her. He sniffed the air. “Ah, you are over here.”
With a swing of his arm, the trees were battered away, revealing Rui. He grinned wickedly. “I’ll have fun with you before I kill and eat you!”
“MELODY! GRANDPA!” Rui cried out.
There was an explosion of power above her. Looking up, she saw Rul’s head was blown off but rapidly healing.
“Rui!” Melody dove down and snatched her sister.
“Melody! Melody! I’m sorry! I should have listened!” Rui sobbed as she hugged her sister.
“It’s okay. It’s going to be okay. I’m here now.”
Rul laughed. “Meldy! Come to join me?”
“As if.” Melody coldly answered. “I’m here to kill you.”
Rul laughed. “So, was that your strongest attack? Not enough to kill me.” He gave a smug smile.
“I can do more than that.” Melody’s eyes glowed. “Spirits! Lend me your aid in destroying this abomination!”
The skies darkened, and thunder roared amongst the clouds.
“Whoa…” Rui was amazed.
“Heaven’s Wrath!” Melody roared.
A massive bolt of lightning crashed down on Rul, hiding him from sight. Bolt after bolt crashed into the ground, drowning out Rul’s cries of pain.
Rui hugged her sister, feeling safe in her powerful arms.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Melody could feel it. Rul still wasn’t dead. Even with the amount of power she had unleashed on him. Her powered arrow couldn’t kill him. The rain of thunder couldn’t kill him. His body was just too strong. His damn regeneration was too much.
A case of theft: this story is not rightfully on Amazon; if you spot it, report the violation.
“Melody?” Rui called.
“Rui, you need to leave. Get back to Grandpa and stay with him. I need to keep Rul here until the others arrive.” Melody ordered.
“No! I won’t leave you!” Rui cried, tears rolling down her cheeks.
“You have t-.” Melody was cut off by Rul’s arm swinging out and batting her out of the air to the ground.
The rain of thunder ended, and a scorched Rul let out a raspy laugh. “That the best you got?”
Pain wracked Melody’s body. He was too strong.
“Melody!” Rui began using healing magic on her.
“Go! You have to run!” Melody yelled.
Rul reached toward them, only for Alure to grab onto his back and unleash a white beam of dragon’s breath onto his head. “Run you two!” Alure sent her thoughts.
Melody struggled to her feet, using healing magic on herself to get them away from Rul.
Alure cried out in pain as Rul grabbed her by the neck, flipped her over his shoulder, and slammed her into the ground.
“No! No escaping! No more running Meldy! I will make you suffer! I will kill that bitch of a tree! I will destroy everything you love and hold dear!” His grin became cruel. “And after you bear me a powerful heir, I will kill you!”
After throwing the heavily injured Alure away, he pinned Melody and Rui to the ground. “Now, you are mine! Both you and this little girl!”
Melody couldn’t believe it. Why was her power so little? Why was his so much? Why did the bad guy seem to win? He was too big, too powerful, and she was too small like when she was a child.
Rul laughed loudly at his success before there was a meaty crunch, and the weight upon Melody and Rui disappeared.
They looked up to see a massive wooden fist.
“Get the hell away from my daughters, you bastard!”
Tears formed and rolled down Melody’s cheeks as she recognized that voice. Turning, she saw Alui with vines in her hair within the core of a massive wooden golem.
“Mothers?” Melody was confused. Was it Alui? Gaia? Both? But through nature, she could feel that it was Gaia. Her soul and mind fused with Alui’s body, bringing it new life.
“Melody!” Gaia yelled. “Get healed up and help me!”
Melody beamed. “Yes, mother!”
“Mother?” Rui looked up at Gaia. “That’s Mother? She looks different.”
“I’ll explain later!” Melody picked up Rui and fell back to heal.
“Alui?” Rul was confused.
Gaia gave him another gargantuan punch. “I am Gaia! Melody’s mother and your warden!”
Rul caught on, and his expression turned furious. “So the tree bitch took over the body of my woman. I’m going to enjoy your screams as I ravage your body.”
“Solar Crash!” Gaia unleashed a massive attack, putting Rul into a hole.
Rul leaped out of the hole in a rage, attacking Gaia. Gaia could defend against the attack, and the two titans continued to clash.
“Do you have anything else, Melody?” Rui asked.
Melody ran through the level of attacks they had. Her two most potent attacks didn’t work, and Gaia’s Solar Crash didn’t work either.
“Melody! Gaia!” Gyyanrel called.
“Papa Gyy?” Melody replied.
“You have to hurry! The forces he devastated created too much negative energy, and we were not able to cleanse other areas of miasma! If you don’t kill him soon, Kraul will descend!” The panicked world tree called.
Melody held up her bow and looked at Rui. Smiling, she got an idea. “Rui, golem up!”
Melody had Rui make her golem and root it into the ground. Then, two short arms formed on the back, and Melody put her bow in place.
“Hold it steady, Rui!” Melody grew her bow to a large size, making Rui into a giant-sized ballista. Pulled back on the bowstring, a huge arrow began to form.
“I’ll help!” Rui added her magic to the bow, rapidly growing and solidifying the arrow.
Melody activated Nature’s Wrath, changing the hue to golden.
Gaia continued fighting and holding Rul at bay while the sisters readied their attack.
The powerful ballista buzzed with power.
“Mother! Try to hold him in place!” Melody called.
“Got it!” Gaia extended her branches, tying Rul up. He struggled and thrashed against her attempt to bind him.
“Ready?” Melody asked.
“Ready!” Rui answered.
Melody pulled with all her might, fully drawing the ballista. “Die, you bastard!”
The unleashing of the ballista created a powerful force of wind, knocking Melody over and destroying Rui’s golem.
The ballista hit Rul’s center mass, piercing through to the heavens and beyond.
For a moment, Melody saw only his arms and feet were left. She smiled, but before she could cheer, black blood shot from the remaining limbs, linking together. “No… Mother! Use a solar crash to finish him!”
“I can’t…” Gaia answered.
They couldn’t throw the limbs away as he would likely regrow from one of them. Gaia tried to wrap and seal the severed limbs, but the blackened blood was corroding her branches too quickly.
“I can’t stop it!” Gaia cried.
“What about grandpa!?” Rui called.
“He is drained of all his power from awakening me!” Gaia answered.
Melody worked to fire smaller wrath arrows, but charging them took too long. Rul’s arms were already grown, and his torso was reforming.
“What do we do!?” Rui cried.
Melody didn’t know what to do. They all expended too much power. They needed help.
Rul’s head reformed, and he tilted his head, cracking his neck. “That. Hurt. That… HURT!” He roared, unleashing a massive amount of miasma.
Melody shivered in fear as the various plant life around them died.
“Melody! Rui! Gaia! RUN!” Gyyanrel cried through nature.
Above Rul, space warped and cracked.
“Oh, no… Rui! Run!” Melody rushed to grab her sister and run, but the crack rapidly grew, and the space cracked open.
The three froze in place as dread sunk into their hearts. Turning, Melody first saw the horns, and then the very head of the evil god of Tartarus came out with a wicked smile.
“Finally!” Kraul laughed victoriously. “I made it through after so long! After so much effort and patience!”
The God of Tartarus had come, and the world was going to come to an end.
