"Help! Save us!"
"Please, save us!"
Two girls, seeing Kris appear, clung to him like a lifeline, screaming at the top of their lungs.
But Kris acted as if he didn’t hear them, showing no response.
His attention was entirely focused on the zombie in front of him. The recent successful kill had boosted his confidence.
Kris quietly circled around to the back of another zombie. This one was wearing tattered jeans and a white T-shirt stained with grime. Its back was torn to shreds, revealing a bloody, mangled wound, with even glimpses of bone.
It seemed completely unaware of the danger, still slowly moving toward the two girls.
Kris, gripping a fire axe in his right hand, raised it high and then swung down with all his might!
"Crack!"
A crisp bone-shattering sound echoed as the zombie’s head was instantly severed, like a split watermelon. Dark red blood gushed from its neck, splattering everywhere.

Two consecutive one-hit kills left even Kris surprised. He looked down at the fire axe in his hand and his blood-stained hands, feeling an indescribable excitement welling up inside him.
"This strength potion is way too effective!" he couldn’t help muttering to himself.
If he had been fearful of these zombies before, now he saw them as nothing more than lambs to the slaughter.
He continued his strategy, sneaking up on the zombies from behind.
"Splat!"
In no time, three out of five zombies had fallen to Kris’s axe.
One of the girls had already fainted from the gruesome scene, collapsing to the ground like a limp rag.
The other was wide-eyed, her mouth agape, but no sound came out. Her body trembled uncontrollably, and if one looked closely, her pants were soaked.
The remaining two zombies finally noticed Kris’s presence.
They turned around, their hollow eyes fixed on him.
One of them was unusually massive, nearly two meters tall, with bulging muscles.
Its clothes had burst open, revealing dark brown skin covered in festering wounds, emitting a nauseating stench.
The massive zombie opened its bloody maw, revealing sharp teeth, and charged at Kris.

Kris reacted swiftly, rolling to the side just in time to dodge the attack.
"Boom!"
The massive zombie crashed into a nearby wall, sending dust flying everywhere.
Kris, ignoring the dust on his body, quickly got up and swung the fire axe with all his might at the zombie’s arm!
"Splat!"
The axe blade sank into the zombie’s arm but didn’t sever it as easily as before. The zombie’s muscles were much tougher than he expected, and the axe was lodged halfway into the bone.
The zombie, seemingly unaffected by pain, let out a roar and violently shook its arm, trying to fling Kris away.
Kris felt a tremendous force and was nearly thrown off balance. He quickly tightened his grip on the axe handle and yanked it out of the zombie’s arm.
Realizing he couldn’t brute-force this, Kris noticed the other female zombie staggering toward him. An idea sparked in his mind.
"Hey buddy, here’s some company!"
Kris suddenly kicked the female zombie in the chest.
The female zombie, already slow-moving, lost its balance and toppled onto the massive zombie like a sack of potatoes.
"Thud!"
The massive zombie, just about to get up, was caught off guard and fell to the ground, pinning the female zombie beneath it, which let out a muffled growl.
"Perfect!"
Kris seized the moment, rushing forward without hesitation. He gripped the fire axe with both hands, raised it high, and brought it down with all his strength onto the massive zombie’s head!
"Crack!"
This time, the fire axe met no resistance, slicing through the zombie’s skull like a hot knife through butter.
Black-red brain matter mixed with blood splattered everywhere, some even landing on Kris’s face.

The massive zombie twitched a few times before finally lying still.
Kris, not bothering to wipe off the filth on his face, quickly pulled out the fire axe and delivered a finishing blow to the female zombie’s head.
"Splat!"
The female zombie was also successfully killed.
[Hint: Zombie killed, 1 energy earned.]
Kris panted heavily, surveying the scene.
All five zombies now lay in pools of blood, the air thick with the nauseating stench of gore.
He looked down at his blood-soaked hands and the fire axe, feeling a mix of relief and exhilaration.
"Whew… Done!"
Kris let out a long breath, only now noticing a faint glow emanating from the zombies’ corpses. There seemed to be something within the light that drew him in.
Curious, he approached and saw a translucent orb floating beside each zombie, with a familiar button next to it— [Collect].
"What’s this? Is this like a game loot drop?"
Kris’s heart raced as he focused his mind and clicked the [Collect] button next to one of the orbs.
"Ding!"
The orb instantly disappeared, transforming into a beam of light that merged into his body.
Kris felt a slight vibration, as if something had entered his Space Ring.
Suppressing his curiosity, he collected the remaining orbs.
After finishing, Kris finally took a moment to inspect his newfound treasures.
To his surprise, the most exciting item was a car key that had dropped from the massive zombie!
Kris quickly picked up the car key and examined it closely.
[Car Key: Can unlock a black G15 SUV parked in the underground parking lot. Remaining fuel: 20%.]
"Parking lot? An SUV? Haha! Heaven’s on my side!"
Kris couldn’t help but laugh heartily. With a vehicle, he could finally leave this hellhole and search for more resources.
He carefully tucked the car key into his pocket and checked the other items.
[Compressed Biscuits: High-energy food, quickly restores stamina.]
[Zombie Core: A crystal containing the energy from a zombie’s body, used to enhance oneself.]
"A Zombie Core? Enhance myself?"
Kris stared at the faintly glowing black crystal in his hand, filled with confusion.
"How do I use this thing? Just eat it?"
He couldn’t resist making a sarcastic remark but decided to keep the Zombie Core for later investigation.
Right now, his top priority was finding that SUV and escaping this perilous place.
"I hope I can find the car without issues…"
Kris calmed his excitement and turned toward the parking lot.
