The Emperor was now showing signs of vulnerability; he was visibly scared and a bit traumatised. Stepped back to hide behind some of the guards. Both if his hands cupped over his nose and mouth to protect that area, not touching his injury.
The guards found Vicko. His hiding space was now revealed.
"Kill him! Kill him!" The Emperor shouted desperately as if he was going to be hurt again. He believes that this time it was ok to have him killed because in his mind this is self-defence.
Vicko only had the one arrow, he was no more a threat, he was prideful. He thought that was all he needed. He didn't ever do archery. He thought he was too good for it.
Vicko just sat there because he thought he wasn't going to die.
The 4 guards took their spears and barraged their spears into different parts of his sides. Vicko's body just winched at every pierce. He was in more shock. He couldn't believe the sensation of being stabbed. He hoped it would be over soon and he would just go to the hospital and he won't be published. This was something to be swept under the rug, he thought. And before he knew it, he bled out to death.

There was a sad look on Gilbert's face. He held no resentment to the Emperor and not because he tried to kill him, but he saw them separately. In one half of his mind he was happy that the Emperor was alive and the other half was sad that Vicko died from the Emperor.

"What was the next logical thing that could happen?" The child said to the historian. He was analysing everything I'm his head. A lot of it didn't make sense to his mind but he tried to think logically. He is still upset at the historian for calling him a child.
The historian looked confused at this statement, he doesn't understand what the little one is trying to ask. He tries to gather words for a possible solution to his question.
"Uh..well..we have a manuscript of what Gilbert wrote in his diary that day."
"Here is what it said:
'They continued with the execution, but the executioner amidst the chaos debated whether he should have continued because he thought it was an attempt to stop the execution and that made him question whether if he continued would he be the next one to try to be assassinated. People eventually found out why he tried to kill his lordship and that made me feel like a dunce. It wasn't my fault but I still feel that way. May I find something more extreme to worship. Amen.' "
