Chapter 279: Thanks to "Mist Over the Marsh, Unborn" for the Divine Certification!
Luo Wei said calmly: "Like I said, we worship the sun, moon, mountains, rivers, wind, rain, thunder, and lightning—we just don't put the sun and moon above everything else."
At this point, she asked curiously: "I remember the temples in The Wastes don't put the sun and moon above everything either, right?"
"Professor, why don't you go to The Wastes and accuse them of not believing in the light, of being full of sin?"
Professor Chester was speechless, pointing at her with his face flushed red: "You—you—"
"Alright, Professor Chester, let's end this debate here," Prince Alfried finally spoke leisurely. "We should respect others' beliefs and show tolerance toward them. This too is a virtue the gods have granted us."
"Yes, Your Highness."
Professor Chester reluctantly stepped back, though his sharp eyes still glared daggers at Luo Wei.
Luo Wei ignored him like he was air, placing her hand on her chest and bowing to Prince Alfried again: "Your Highness's wisdom and mercy are truly admirable."
Prince Alfried said regretfully: "What a clever child. It's a pity I have no chance to take you as my goddaughter. Well, let's leave this matter here."
Luo Wei replied humbly: "It's my misfortune not to become your goddaughter or the Headmaster's successor. I'm deeply sorry."
Prince Alfried sighed without speaking, seeming quite disappointed.
Headmaster Morrison also sighed, his eyes melancholy, as if troubled about finding another successor.
Luo Wei consciously stepped aside, preparing to lower her presence before grabbing her teammates and running.
But the timing was terrible—the five Divine College students had just been carried up by the monks and laid down next to the unconscious Gladys and Jack.
Seven people lay head to head and foot to foot, arranged neatly on the open ground in front of the stands. Beside them was a magic robe with a bulge inside where a motionless burrow rabbit was playing dead.
"Your Highness," Knight Antoine stepped forward, "shall we begin treatment now?"
Luo Wei had been pretty anxious, but seeing this scene somehow made her want to laugh.
If you didn't know they were treating unconscious people's injuries, you'd think it was a crime scene examination!
"Magic wand." Prince Alfried extended his hand. Bruce immediately knelt on one knee and presented the wand. After he took it, Bruce stood up and remained at his side.
Prince Alfried rose and walked toward the unconscious students. He'd barely taken half a step when there was a muffled thud from the ground, followed by the rustling sound of fabric.
A rabbit transformed back into a human in a flash of golden light. Shining curly hair scattered across the ground, and large areas of pale, smooth back were exposed. Two feet and slender calves also stuck out from under the magic robe, naked in the air.
The narrative has been taken without permission. Report any sightings.
Axina couldn't keep playing dead anymore—she'd rather transform back and be embarrassed than be treated by a Church Prince.
The messy magic robe couldn't cover everything. The professors around quickly turned away and closed their eyes. The students behind let out startled cries, covering their eyes while peeking through their fingers.
Luo Wei quickly had Hol take off his magic robe and hurried forward to cover Axina's back, whispering: "Transforming back now? Are you out of your mind?"
Axina awkwardly pulled the magic robe tight and got up from the ground, stubbornly saying: "I didn't want to transform. My magic power just ran out."
Prince Alfried paused his steps, waiting for her to get dressed before walking over with a calm expression.
"Your Highness," Axina quickly knelt, her lips pale as she said, "Please forgive my impropriety!"
"Get up," Prince Alfried said. "The noble should not mock innocent mistakes. Pure eyes see no filth—you need not blame yourself."
The students who'd been peeking felt guilty and shamefully lowered their heads.
Axina stood up trembling: "Th-thank you for your forgiveness, Your Highness."
Prince Alfried looked at her: "You're injured. Do you need treatment?"
"No, no need," Axina quickly shook her head. "My injuries are minor. I don't need treatment."
Prince Alfried didn't insist. He just nodded slightly, walked past her to the seven unconscious people, raised his wand, and began chanting.
Dense light elements gathered at the wand's tip, emitting warm white light. A gentle breeze lifted the seven people from the ground, floating them beneath the white light.
Axina quietly stepped back behind Luo Wei, watching the scene while tugging at her clothes.
Luo Wei turned around, asking with her eyes: What's wrong?
Axina frowned tightly, gesturing toward Gladys: Aren't you going to save her?
She wasn't worried about Gladys—she was afraid that if Gladys was exposed, it would drag her down too.
Luo Wei could easily guess her thoughts and raised an eyebrow: Nothing I can do.
Axina's face darkened. Clutching the magic robe around her, she prepared to run.
A few minutes later, the white light faded and Prince Alfried lowered his wand.
The seven students settled back to the ground and slowly woke up.
Jack was the first to open his eyes. He touched his head and sat up from the ground. Seeing the scene before him, he was shocked and jumped up with a "whoosh," then immediately dropped to his knees with a "thud": "Your Highness!"
Prince Alfried nodded slightly: "Get up."
Jack quickly scrambled up, looking left and right. When he saw Luo Wei and Hol, he ran over to them like a shot.
Not long after Jack woke up, the five Divine College students gradually came to as well. But they were too severely injured—healing magic only treated symptoms, not root causes. The five couldn't even stand, gritting their teeth as they lay on the ground silently crying.
Pain! So much pain!
Every part of their bodies hurt, like they'd been crushed by boulders. If they weren't afraid of being laughed at for crying out loud, their voices would probably be hoarse from sobbing by now.
Prince Alfried took out a case of healing potions from his spatial magic item and ordered the two knights expressionlessly: "Go feed these to them."
The two knights took the medicine case and immediately walked to the five students, kneeling on one knee to feed them the potions.
Each person drank three bottles of high-grade potion before gradually stopping their tears. With the monks' help, they were dragged up from the ground.
Only one person on the ground still hadn't woken up. Luo Wei looked worriedly at Gladys.
"Your Highness?" The two knights also looked hesitantly at Prince Alfried.
"Open the potion bottle." Prince Alfried commanded.
"Yes!" Bruce immediately opened a healing potion and respectfully held it above his head.
Prince Alfried chanted softly, drawing the healing potion from the bottle. It arced through the air and entered Gladys's nostrils.
One bottle, two bottles, three bottles—after three potions were fed, Gladys still hadn't woken up.
Even Prince Alfried found this strange. He stepped closer, wanting to use magic power to examine Gladys's body.
Luo Wei's heart jumped to her throat. She'd heard that everyone in the Church had noses like dogs. This close, would he discover something?
"Snore—"
A snot bubble popped out of Gladys's nose.
Prince Alfried jerked his hand back and quickly stepped back two paces.
Luo Wei: ...
She didn't know what to say.
Good thing Church people were germaphobes.
