—The Consequences—
-Season 2, Episode 9-
Abducted!-
Wolfrun, 1998-
Abigail and Kane drive down the road, the streetlights painting the highway ahead of them a strange, otherworldly orange color. “Can we talk about what happened back there?” Abigail asks, looking over at Kane sitting in the driver’s seat. He remains silent but eventually pulls the car over to the side of the road after the awkward silence lingers. “Follow me.” He says as he climbs out of the vehicle. Abigail silently follows, growing worried as they walk to the edge of the bridge. “What’s the deal, Kane? You’ve been acting strange ever since Jack…” She says, trailing off as she looks him in the eyes. They’re pitch black, with faint red pupils looking back at her. She takes a step back, reaching for her gun. “Alastor…” She says quietly. The possessed man shakes his head. “Abigail, listen to me. I…” The Hell Knight says. “I don’t think you’ll be making it home.” He says bluntly. Abigail’s heart shatters. “NO!” She shouts, preparing to lunge towards him. But she can’t. Someone is holding her arms, locking her in place. “Relax, Abigail. Just come with me. Please.” A woman’s voice pleads. She turns her head around, peering over her shoulder. A woman with glowing gold eyes and long, messy silver hair stands behind her. “Sleep,” Eris says, and Abigail begins to feel exhausted. She manages to break one arm free, pushing the Angel away. “...No… Stop…” She begs, attempting to run away. Her legs give out on her, and she collapses to the floor. “...Please…” She begs to no avail. Alastor and Eris stand over her as she’s tired, and Alastor smirks. “I hope The Director likes this… this whole plan is risky as fuck.” He says, his voice distant.

“Now, here’s my little idea: We take a sample of Abigail’s DNA and use it to clone her and infiltrate the group!” He explains. Eris rolls her eyes. “As if Lucy wouldn’t notice when her girlfriend suddenly changes her whole personality?” She asks. The Director smiles. “Easy. This clone works like The Thing. The movie, not the superhero. It’s a perfect copy and shouldn’t raise any suspicion!” He says. The Angel shakes her head. “Whatever, you’re the boss. I’ll trust you.” She says, turning away. The Director grabs her arm, stopping her. “What’s wrong? You sound upset.” He asks. Eris shrugs. “I’m not. Promise.” She says. She sighs deeply. “Just… a lot on my mind, that’s all.” She replies. The Director nods. “I get it. Take your time, I’ll be here when you’re ready to clone this bitch.” He says. Eris smiles. “Alright.” She says, walking away. She goes down to The Institute’s cellblock, eventually reaching Azrael’s cell. “Azrael? Are you awake?” She asks. The blue eyes peer out at her. “I do not sleep.” She replies. Eris sighs. “I know, sorry… I need some guidance.” She says. Azrael takes a deep breath. “How can I even help you?” She asks. Eris turns away. “It’s about Xander… The Director…” She says. Azrael remains silent. Eris presses her head against the cell door, shedding a tear. “Azrael, please. It isn’t about love… I need to know any weaknesses of his.” She pleads. Azrael groans. “His hubris. He needs to be loved, and he needs to be seen. Use this against him and leave me alone.” She says. Eris nods, unlocking her door. She leaves Azrael alone, and the captive Angel slowly reaches out and pushes the cell door open slightly. She smiles, closing it again, knowing her time is coming soon.
Daughter Of Michael-
The Institute, 1998-
Eris walks back to The Director’s office with her eyes glued to the floor in thought when she bumps into a figure standing in her way. “Excuse me-” She says, cutting herself off when she looks up. Michael stands before her, his golden eyes staring down at her. “Hello, daughter.” He says. Eris steps back. “Oh, hello, Father…” She replies. He looks around the white halls of The Institute and sighs. “I came here to find you. Care to take a walk?” He asks. Eris nods. “Yes, Sir.” She replies, walking alongside him. He takes a deep breath. “So. You’re dating The Director?” He asks. Eris jumps slightly, fear taking over. “What? O-Oh… yeah.” She answers. Michael nods. “And what is your ulterior motive?” He follows up. Eris looks up at him, confused. “What? Why would I have another motive?” She asks. Michael chuckles. “Because you’re my daughter. That’s why.” He answers. Eris chuckles with him. He suddenly stops her, resting a hand on her shoulder. “When the time comes, and I ascend above this role of ‘Acting God,’ I’ll need someone trustworthy to run things while I deal with creation. Can I rely on you, dear daughter?” He asks. Eris sits for a moment. “Yes, Father.” She replies. Michael smiles, spreading his black and white wings. “Good.” He says, walking away. Eris sighs, resting her back against the wall. “Fuck me… fuck fuck fuck…” She says, rushing towards the portal leading to Elysium.
Liars-
Elysium, 1998-
Kane and Abigail arrive back at their base, with Kane exhausted after driving. “Jesus fuck man, that was a long drive…” He says, flopping down on a couch. Abigail looks around and smiles. “LUCY! I’M HOME!” She shouts. Lucy comes running, skidding to a stop in the doorway. “You… called for me?” She asks, raising an eyebrow. Abigail nods, smiling. “After the day I’ve had, hell yeah, I called for you. Come here!” She says, approaching the Demon. She embraces her in a deep kiss, with Lucy blushing brightly as her eyes glow red in surprise. Rev glances over at Abigail, his eyes scanning her. “Say, Abigail, whatever happened to Jack?” He asks. Abigail stiffens up, her grip on Lucy’s side tightening. “He… He’s gone. He met his end when he killed himself. The pain of his mental torture was just too much… I suppose I understand.” She replies. Rev shares a look with Kane, and Kane shrugs. “Dude was going full psycho, he killed like five cops.” He says. Rev nods. “Alright.” He replies, standing up. “Well, I gotta get to bed. ‘Night, everyone.” He says, heading to the bedrooms. Kane nods, passing out on the couch. Abigail and Lucy now share a room with Leon, Riley, and Frost. Frost clears his throat, gesturing towards the broom closet. “And what should we do with this one?” He asks. Abigail looks confused. “Who?” She asks. Leon opens the door, and Jacob sits in the darkness, his hands bound by a powerful chain. “Me.” He replies to Abigail. Lucy smirks, and Riley chuckles. Abigail stares at him. “Make him a bed down in the basement. Riley and Leon, take turns guarding him to ensure his Angel friend doesn’t come to jailbreak him.” She commands. Frost nods, motioning for the other two to follow him. They grab Jacob and head down the stairs. Lucy sighs, stretching her arms over her head while yawning. “Alright, Abbi, I’m heading to bed. See you soon, I hope.” She says, winking. Abigail nods. “Good night, dear. I’ll be in shortly.” She replies. She turns her back towards the main building, her eyes watching Eris outside. “I’m in.” She says, and Eris nods.
Prisoner 001-
The Institute, 1998-
Abigail Bright wakes up in a large, white room. Nothing sits with her, just white light. “So you’re the little Human causing such a ruckus in my world, huh?” A man’s voice says. Abigail looks around, finding someone else in her cell. His eyes glow blue, and his brown hair rests messily atop his head. He is wearing a nice suit, and a blue tie. “Hello, Miss Bright. I’m The Director.” He says, bowing slightly. Abigail just glares at him. “Fuck off.” She says coldly. The Director laughs, walking over to her. “Oh, Abigail. You’re not in a position of power here. You’re in my Institute. My plaything.” He says, grabbing the top of her head. He forces her to look up at him and grins. “Now. How about a game?” He asks. Abigail silently glares at him. The Director sighs. “It feels weird if you don’t consent, so I’ll take care of that for you.” Abigail feels her mouth open, and her voice agrees to his game. “There! Now, let’s begin!” He exclaims, grabbing her by the temples with his hands. Abigail suddenly passes out, falling to the floor.
“Wake the fuck up.” A woman demands. Abigail opens her eyes to find Lucy standing before her, arms crossed and eyes glowing. “We need to talk.” She says coldly. Abigail sits up and tries to move the hair out of her face. Only she can’t, as a handcuff stops her. “Lucy? W-What’s going on?” She asks worriedly. “Why don’t you tell me?” Lucy replies. Abigail looks up at her, confused. “I was taken… and…” “Stop it with those damn excuses.” Lucy interrupts her. Abigail is speechless. “Tell me about North Reach,” Lucy demands. Abigail’s heart jumps. “W-What? You were there.” She says. Lucy chuckles. “Bullshit. I was there, but I never saw how it started. So tell me.” She demands. Abigail begins sweating. “Tell me about how you started it, and how you forced Jack into this group against his will.” She demands. Abigail looks over towards the door, noticing as Kane walks in. “Tell her what you told me, Abigail.” He says. Abigail looks between them, panicking. “I-I… uhm…. Uh,” She stammers. Kane nods, and Lucy draws a pistol. “Remember this?” She asks. “This belonged to Rev before you got him killed, along with Jack and Leon. Riley, too.” Lucy says coldly. Abigail falls silent. Lucy holds up an amulet. “And Frost, too. He died saving your ass.” She adds. “Now, look at your chest,” Lucy demands. Abigail looks down to find her amulet is missing. Her gaze is drawn by a metallic click. “You have one chance to be honest before I kill you,” Lucy demands, loading bullets into the cylinder. “I DON’T KNOW!” She shouts, looking around frantically. Lucy sighs. “Alright, dear. Rest easy in the afterlife.” Lucy says, aiming the revolver and firing.
“Dear, wake up. Please…” A woman's voice begs. Abigail opens her eyes to find Lucy, bloody and crying, kneeling over her body. “W-What happened?” Abigail asks. Lucy screams in joy, hugging her tightly. “We’re under attack… help us…” Lucy begs. Abigail stands up and exits the small room. Airships bearing the Thule’s insignia launch missiles at Wolfrun, explosions rocking the ground they stand on. Rev, Kane, and Jack are all fighting down on the front lines as bullets whiz overhead. “Hey, Abbi! Welcome back to the land of the living!” Jack calls back, firing at the Nazis. Kane gives her the thumbs up, and Rev smiles. Abigail feels a sense of happiness when a rocket hits their group. Jack, Kane, Rev, Abigail, and Lucy are thrown against a wall when suddenly chains shoot out from nowhere. The chains hold them in place, and whistling echoes down the now silent war-torn streets. A silhouette of a man appears in the dust, and the whistling grows louder. He whistles a tune as he walks. “...Make the most of freedom, and of pleasure. Nothing ever lasts forever…” He sings to himself, approaching the group. The man laughs, and the sound of his laughter makes him instantly recognizable. “Director,” Abigail says. The Director smiles and waves. “Heya, enjoying the show?” He asks. He teleports behind Kane, snapping his neck. “KANE!” Abigail screams, and The Director laughs. “Well! Wasn’t expecting that, huh?” He asks as Kane’s body slams to the ground. He walks in front of Abigail. “Who would you like to see die next? I’m thinking… Either the cop or the soldier?” He asks, glancing between Jack and Rev. Abigail is quiet for a minute, but eventually musters the courage to answer. “R-Rev…” She says. The Director claps and walks over to Rev. “Say bye-bye!” He says, throwing a punch at Rev’s head. His fist vanishes, and Jack’s head explodes. “WOAH!” He says, smiling. Abigail’s tears block the view of Jack’s destroyed head. Lucy is crying hysterically. Rev growls at him. “When I get my hands on you, I swear to God I’ll-” “God, shut the FUCK UP!” The Director shouts, snapping. Rev falls silent as his neck begins bleeding. He falls, his throat sliced by an invisible blade. “...p-please… don’t kill… L-Lucy…” Abigail begs. Lucy shakes her head. “It’s fine, dear. I love-” She starts, but The Director draws Rev’s revolver and shoots her. Lucy’s blood sprays Abigail’s face. The Director laughs. “WOW! Probably not the first time she’s sprayed on your face, huh? HA!” He laughs and stops quickly. She falls to the ground, sobbing. The Director kneels in front of her. “Wake up.” He demands.
Abigail opens her eyes and finds herself back in the white room in The Institute. “Wasn’t that fun?” The Director asks, his sleeves rolled up. Abigail looks at him with a dead look in her eyes. “W-was that… real?” She asks. The Director smiles. “No, but if you don’t help me, it will be. All of them. I can make it happen, over and over again.” He answers. Abigail stares down at the floor, tears streaming down her face. “I-I can’t… L-Lucy doesn’t deserve… t-that…” She says. “P-please don’t hurt… h-her,” Abigail begs. The walls of the room turn into a mirror, and Abigail notices that she still has Lucy’s blood on her face. “Here, take this and clean yourself up.” He says, holding out a warm towel he manifested. Abigail can’t help but stare at her face. “I-I’ll join you… just… d-don”t hurt… her..” She begs. The Director holds out his hand. “Shake it, and we’re a team.” He demands, wiggling his fingers. Abigail grabs his hand and shakes it. “N-Not her…” She says. The Director smirks. “No promises. Clean yourself up, we’ve got work to do!” The Director says over his shoulder, the blinding light blocking the view of the door. Once Abigail’s eyes adjust, the room’s door has vanished. Abigail quietly sobs herself to sleep, alone and afraid.
Run For Freedom-
The Institute, 1998-
Minutes. Hours. Days. Weeks. Time doesn’t feel real when you’re trapped in The Institute. As she sits alone, the door opens, and Eris stands there. “RUN! NOW!” She whispers loudly, running away. Abigail jumps up, running out of the door. Footsteps echo down the corridor after her. Abigail glances behind and spots several armed guards, some of whom have either halos and wings or horns and tails. “Demons AND Angels?” She asks herself under her breath. She rounds a corner and runs face-first into The Director. “AH! There you are!” He exclaims happily. She notices his arm is limp and his face is masking pain. “What happened, Sir? Did someone hurt you?” She asks, standing to attention. “No, just… a difficult conversation with my Boss.” He says, glaring at his wound. Abigail hides her smile, masking it with a stern expression plastered on her face. “It’s whatever, though. I’m just glad I have my own Bright working under me! You’re a hot commodity, all of you.” He says, smiling at Abigail. She blushes. “Aww, you’re flattering me.” She replies. The Director laughs. The armed guards finally catch up and find her speaking with The Director. He raises his hand. “Alright, at ease. Go back to what you were doing, Agents.” He says before walking past her. The guards nod and follow him. Abigail sighs and continues down towards the prison. “Hey, I can deliver that. The Director’s orders.” She tells one of the guards protecting the cell. He nods, handing her the prisoner’s dinner. She grabs the tray of food and heads for the quarantine cell at the back of the hall. She approaches slowly, and blue eyes shine at her from the darkness. “G-Go away…” The voice says. Abigail squats down. “...P-Please leave m-me alone…” It says again. Abigail sighs and slides the food towards the blue eyes. “Listen, I’m not under his spell. I’m here to repay my debt to you, so please come out of the dark.” She says. The blue eyes watch the tray slide toward them, and they slowly crawl out into the light. Blonde hair drapes the face of the prisoner, and her blue eyes slowly fade away. Blood and scars coat her bare skin, and her wings are dirty. Abigail sighs. “I’m so sorry he did this to you. You deserved better.” She says. The Angel looks up at her, parting the hair from her face. “No, I got exactly what I deserved for betraying The Director. This was just. But it will not stop me.” Azrael says, standing. Abigail covers her mouth when she sees how many bloody scars cover her body. Azrael looks down. “Yes, he did not give me clothes. All he gave me was several beatings and the sharp end of a blade.” She says, a tear rolling down her cheek. Abigail nods. “Same. Here, let’s get you out of here.” She says, looking around for the key. “There is no need.” Azrael says, gently pushing the cell door open. Abigail watches as Azrael’s eyes glow blue, and every scar on her body heals almost instantly. “Holy shit!” Abigail shouts as sirens rise in the distance. Azrael grabs a trench coat hanging nearby and throws it over her body. “Come on, let us go.” She says. The two run down the corridors. “Here, The Gateway is this way!” Azrael says, turning down a tight, dimly lit corridor. “And where the FUCK do you two think you’re going?” A voice booms down the hallway. Azrael and Abigail both freeze in their tracks, and Azrael glances at Abigail. “Give me the amulet, I can stop him so you can get away.” She demands. Abigail hands it over, and Azrael turns back to the source of the voice, spotting The Director standing between them and The Gateway. “Nobody leaves without my say-so, girlies.” He says. Azrael spreads her beaten and wounded wings and her eyes glow bright with the power of Bright’s Amulet. “RUN!” She screams at Abigail as she fires a beam of energy at him. He’s thrown back. “DAMN! You’re so fucking lucky I’m already wounded! You’d be reduced to fucking atoms otherwise!” He says, gritting his teeth as he stands. Abigail runs for the Gateway, but she suddenly stops. “Nuh-uh, not happening.” The Director says. His eyes glow blue as well, and he throws Abigail back towards The Institute. He turns to face Azrael and throws her through the gateway. “AZRAEL!” Abigail screams as he shuts down the rift. “Now, I thought you were on MY side, Abigail?” The Director asks, holding her up by the neck. Abigail laughs. “Never.” She stammers. The Director sighs. “Fine, guess I’ll just have to put you in that winged bastard’s cell.” He says, snapping his fingers. “I got someone I want you to meet. You’ll like her a lot, she’s… well…” He says, smirking. “She’s just like you.”
Mind Games-
Elysium, 1998-
Lucy lies on the bed, seductively staring at Abigail. Her tail wags, and she motions for the woman to approach with her finger. “Come here, smart stuff,” Lucy says coyly, raising an eyebrow. Abigail smiles, slowly walking towards the bed. Lucy reaches forward, grabbing her by the tank top. She yanks her down onto the bed, climbing atop her. She straddles Abigail, pinning her hands to the bed. Abigail, whose face is now bright red, smiles. “Whatcha gonna do to me?” She asks playfully. Lucy grins. “Something freaky…” She replies. Abigail gets an excited look on her face and closes her eyes. Lucy reaches over to the nightstand and grabs a knife. She holds it to Abigail’s throat, pressing the metal into her flesh softly. “Know what this is?” Lucy asks in a hushed whisper. Abigail nods. Lucy’s grin suddenly turns into a deadly serious face. “Now, you’re going to answer some questions of mine.” She demands. Abigail opens her eyes, realizing the severity of the situation. “W-What? What do you mean?” She asks, confused. Lucy sighs. “You think Abigail would be happy to see me after the fight we had before she left? Fat fucking chance.” She says. She presses the knife against Abigail’s skin, breaking it. Blood slowly drips from the wound. “Who the fuck are you?” Lucy demands, narrowing her red eyes. Abigail takes a deep breath and sighs. “I’m Abigail. Ask me a question only I’d know. Please.” She begs. Lucy shrugs. “You could have all her recent memories. She’s been around for a while, so there’s a lot of things she’s done. How about something only the two of us have done?” Lucy asks. Abigail nods. “Um… you have a casing burn mark inbetween your boobs, and you say when it hurts, it feels good.” She says. Lucy scoffs. “Anyone can figure that out by looking at me with a V-neck on. Try harder.” She says. Abigail sighs. “Okay. Fine. You like it when I stick the tip of your tail inside me. And when I do that, you claim it feels like Heaven is wrapping itself around you.” She says. Lucy’s face turns red. “You know what? I believe you.” She says, clumsily climbing off of Abigail. She glances over at her, her face blushing hard. “...Do I really say that?” She asks quietly. Abigail nods. “Oh yeah, you do.” She replies. Lucy laughs. “Shut the fuck up.” She replies, walking over to the bedroom door. “Wait,” Abigail says, reaching out a hand. Lucy raises an eyebrow and turns around. “What’s up?” She asks. Abigail sighs. “I’m… I’m not your Abigail. I’m a… clone. Sent to spy on you.” She says sheepishly. Lucy frowns. “Are you now?” She asks, walking back over to the bed. Abigail nods. “I… I was sent by The Director, and I’m supposed to figure out how to kill you… But.” She says, looking away. Lucy stares down at her. “But I don’t want to anymore. I love you, just as your Abigail loves you. I can’t do that to you.” She says. Lucy looks away, her eyes darting between Abigail and the floor. “Okay.” She replies, walking towards the door.
Fragile Alliance-
Elysium, 1998-
“Guys. I know she’s a clone, but she could have valuable intel about The Institute! And maybe even The Director himself!” Lucy exclaims. Rev and Kane share a worried glance, and Frost stands up. “No. I don’t trust anything made by or working for The Institute. Fuck that.” He replies. Lucy glares over at him, her eyes narrowing at Frost. “Well, you know what? I don’t need you running this operation. I managed it well enough without you for how long? I appreciate you being back in my life, but I don’t need you taking control over my people.” Lucy says. Frost shakes his head. “Fine. I’ll leave you in charge, but treat my people well. Now, if we’re done bickering over who runs what, I’d like to discuss The Institute.” He says. Rev stands up, cracking his knuckles. “I know what we should do. We should attack them while they’re busy with something else! Like another outbreak, perhaps?” He asks. Kane scoffs. “You want to cause a mass outbreak and risk the lives of not only a city but the whole world? HA!” He laughs. Rev frowns. “Okay, tough guy, why don’t you give me an idea?” He asks. Lucy rolls her eyes. “Enough, both of you. We should-” She’s cut off by a loud explosion outside, rocking the facility. “What teh fuck was that?!” Leon shouts, poking his head out form the stairwell leading to the basement. Lucy frowns, grabbing her shotgun. Rev follows, grabbing his revolver. “I dunno, but we’re gonna find out!” She exclaims, kicking open the door. In the woods outside the base lies a massive crater, smoke rising from the edges. Two blue dots slowly rise in the smoke, and a golden halo sits above them. Lucy’s eyes glow red, and she growls like a feral animal. “Angel…” She says, racking the shotgun. She aims it at the Angel, firing at the celestial being. The Angel quickly lunges out of the smoke, grabbing Lucy by the throat. The fingers burn Lucy’s skin, and her eyes water. “R-Rev!” She gasps out between struggled breaths. Rev shoots a warning shot at the Angel, hitting the dirt beneath her. “HEY! Drop the Demon! Or the next one goes in your divine skull!” He shouts. The Angel turns her attention towards Rev. Her eyes flare up a bright blue, and she throws Lucy against a nearby tree. Frost and Kane watch from the doorway until Kane narrows his eyes. “Wait a fucking second…” He says, quickly sprinting out into the fray. The Angel prepares to punch Rev, until Kane jumps between them. “Hey! Hey! Look, it’s me! Rugged American! Look at me!” He exclaims. The Angel’s eyes slowly dull, losing their aggressive flare. “Kane?” She asks, lowering her fist. Lucy slowly stands up, brushing dirt off of her jacket. “How the fuck do you know this bitch?” She asks. Kane smiles. “She interrogated me when the Nazis captured Abigail, Jack, and me!” He says. Azrael smiles, looking Kane up and down. “You have aged like a fine wine, Samuel.” She says, hugging him tightly. He hugs her back. “What the fuck. How the fuck do YOU of all people know an Angel!? AND YOU’RE ON A FIRST NAME BASIS!?” Rev exclaims in shock. Kane shrugs. “Hey, what can I say? I’m a Saint in the land of Sinners, amirite?” He asks. Azrael giggles. Lucy cracks her knuckles, approaching the Angel. “So what the fuck do YOU want, Feathers?” She asks. Azrael glares over at Lucy. “I came to warn you.” She says, approaching the bunker. Lucy rolls her eyes. “Fine. Go ahead, make yourself at home.” She says, following the Angel.

Azrael-
Elysium, 1998-
“Oh wow, she’s naked…” Rev mutters as the light falls on Azrael’s bare body. Lucy nods. “Fuck yeah she is.” She replies. Kane walks past them, smirking. “Already seen everything she can offer, fellas. Sorry to break it to ya.” He says smugly. Azrael scoffs. “You have not even seen what I can do with what I have. You have seen the tools, not the skills.” She says. Rev raises his eyebrows, and Lucy’s face turns red. “Oh, wow.” She replies. Azrael sits down at the table, crossing her legs. “I came to work with you all. Simply put, The Director is too much for you to handle. He will… as you put it… wipe the floor with you.” Azrael explains. She holds up Abigail’s amulet, which catches Lucy’s attention. “How the fuck did you get that!?” She shouts, lunging for it. Azrael tosses it at her, and Lucy catches it. “Abigail gave it to me to aid in my escape. She willingly stayed behind to attempt to learn more of The Institute. I am here to help you take him out.” She says. Lucy looks over at Frost. He nods. “Then it’s settled. We attack him as soon as we’re ready. I’ll amass an army for us, of course. You all focus on figuring out how to kill him.” He says, turning away from the group. Kane nods. “Now, Sexy and I have some catching up to do.” He says, standing up. Everyone remains stationary, looking at each other. “Kane, you’re the biggest horndog here. Anyone of us could be ‘Sexy’ to you.” Rev says. Kane snarls at this, his face disgusted. “Dude, I’m not gay. I don’t roll that way. I’m talking about God’s perfect creation over there.” He says, pointing over at Azrael. She perks up. “Huh? Me?” She asks. Kane nods. “You’re the only one here who’s sitting naked at our table! Come on, we need to get you an outfit.” He says, motioning for her to follow him. She nods, standing up. Lucy’s face turns bright red again, and Rev looks away. She follows Kane out of the main room, and Rev laughs. “I bet he’s gonna try to fuck her.” He says. Lucy smirks. “Shit, I hate those smug winged bastards but damn… I’d be lying if I said I wouldn’t, given the opportunity.” She adds.
Azrael and Kane walk into the large walk-in closet, and she sighs. “Go ahead. Do what you want with me and my body.” She says flatly. Kane looks over at her with disgust. “Dude, I’m no rapist. We’re here to cover you up, that’s all. Swear to God.” He says, resting his hand over his heart. Azrael nods. “I… I am sorry. I am used to people doing what they want with me. Disregarding my feelings and emotions for their own lustful desires. I suppose it can not be helped, though…” She trails off, looking around at the options. Kane gasps, awkwardly changing the topic of the conversation. “Here, what about this? He asks, holding up a sweater. Azrael raises an eyebrow and scoffs. “I am not some high schooler. Next.” She says, turning her bare back on him once more. He sighs, tossing the sweater away. He smiles, holding up a pair of skinny jeans. “How about these?” He asks. Azrael stares at them, imagining herself in them. “OH!” She exclaims, holding up a flannel shirt. “How about this?” She asks. Kane shrugs. “Maybe? I dunno, it seems… slasher-ish.” He replies. Azrael holds up a leather jacket in her other hand. “With this?” She looks between them. Kane sighs, shaking his head. “Nah, you seem like you and your brother go hunt monsters. How about this?” He asks, holding up a basic white V-neck shirt. Azrael smiles. “I like it!” She exclaims, snatching it away from him. She pulls it down over her body and puts on the jeans. She finds a pair of black and white sneakers near the door, putting them on to finish the outfit. She twirls in the mirror, glancing over her shoulder at Kane. “How do I look?” She asks. Kane’s face turns red. “Well… uh… you look even sexier with clothes on… how?” He asks. Azrael chuckles. “Shush, an Angel never shows and tells.” She replies with a wink. She grabs a brown overcoat and throws it on as she walks. Kane follows her out of the closet and back into the main room of the facility.
Escape!-
The Institute, 1998-
Abigail looks out into the hallway, staring at the white walls. “Hey,” Eris says softly, scaring her. Abigail jumps, crawling away from the cell door. “W-What do you want!? She demands. Eris sighs. “I came to let you out,” Eris says coldly, unlocking her door. The cell door swings open, and Eris stands staring at Abigail. “Go on. Run.” She says. Abigail glares at her. “You’re the one who… who kidnapped me! Why the fuck would I trust you!?” She asks angrily. Eris sighs. “Because I’m the only one capable of getting you out of here! Go! RUN!” She shouts. Abigail slowly stands up, her eyes locked on Eris. “What’s your motive?” She asks. Eris looks down the hallway, where several armed guards are rushing towards the two women. “Just GO! I WANT YOU TO LEAVE!” She shouts, turning her attention towards the guards. She attacks them, and they open fire. One bullet rips Eris’s jacket, and she growls in anger. Her eyes glow gold, and her wings spread wide. The guards open fire, the machine guns tearing her jacket apart. She takes it off, throwing it at the guards. She then charges at them while they’re distracted, slitting one of their throats with her hand. She flicks the blood off, looking at the other guards. She kicks one in the chest, knocking the wind out of him. She gazes deep into the eyes of another, her eyes glowing gold. The guard’s eyes glow softly, a yellowish tint replacing the green before. “Kill them.” She commands, and the guard nods. “Yes, Ma’am…” He says, turning around. He opens fire down the hall, killing the other guards as they rush towards the open cell. Eris turns back to Abigail, her eyes still glowing. “Believe me now!? RUN!” She shouts. Abigail nods, running towards the end of the hall. Eris holds out a hand, opening a rift as she runs. Abigail jumps through, landing in Elysium. Eris smiles and closes the rift. She turns back around to find The Director standing before her. “Hello, Eris.” He says coldly. Eris smiles. “Hey, handsome.” She says, resting a hand on his chest. He grabs it, pulling it into the sky, forcing her face close to his. “What the fuck was this?” He demands, his eyes glowing blue. Eris shrugs. “I thought I could use her to lead us to the others… so we could kill them!” She explains. The Director looks away, using his other hand to cover his mouth. “You… lie to my face and expect me to be pleased?” He asks. The Angel looks around, nodding. “Yeah, except I didn’t lie-” “Just go… I want you to leave…” The Director says. Eris’s heart drops. “No, babe, wait-” She stammers. The Director looks her in the eyes. “I could’ve been so good to you.” He says, opening a rift right behind Eris. Orange eyes peer out from the darkness, the trees and ground covered in black tendrils. Large, serpent-like monsters fly in the sky, their orange eyes peering down at the portal. “Xander… please… not here…” She begs. The Director takes a deep breath, throwing her inside the portal. She slams into a tree, landing on the ground with a thud that echoes around the dead reality. “NOT HERE! PLEASE! NOT PURGAOTRY!” Eris screams as The Director closes the portal. “I’m sorry, Eris.” He says, turning towards the wall where Abigail escaped. He growls, punching the white wall. It shatters like glass, revealing Elysium beyond the broken wall. “There you little fucks are.” He says sternly, walking through the rift.
Lost And Found-
Elysium, 1998-
The group is gathered around the table when a haunting knock echoes around the main room of the facility. Lucy and Rev perk up at it, but Azrael reaches her hand out to stop them. “Wait. What if it is a trap?” She asks. Lucy shrugs. “I don’t know. But we’ll never know if we don’t open that door.” She says. Azrael sighs. “Suit yourself.” She says, sitting back down. Lucy slowly approaches the door, with Leon and Frost watching the door like hawks. She unbolts the door, slowly opening it. Abigail stands there, her hair wet and her eyes tired. “L-Lucy?” She asks, shivering. Lucy just looks at her, taking in her appearance. “Abigail.” She says. The rain pours down around her, and she peers inside. “I-Is everyone inside?” She asks. Lucy nods silently. Abigail gazes into the eyes of her lover. “C-Can I come inside?” She asks feebly. Lucy sighs. She nods, moving out of the way. The door opens wide, and Abigail enters. She spots Rev, Kane, and Frost sitting at the table. They stare at her as she enters, Rev’s eyes filled with rage as he follows her. Kane just looks sad. “Hello… It’s been a while, hasn’t it?” She asks. Everyone just stares at her. Azrael stands up, looking Abigail in the eyes. “Hello, Abigail. It has been a while.” She says. Abigail nods. “It sure has. What’s with the cold welcome, everyone? Did I piss you all off somehow?” She asks. Lucy clears her throat. “Maybe we should take a walk… down to my room? We need to have a chat. Catch you up to speed?” She asks, wrapping her arm around Abigail’s shoulder. Abigail nods, following Lucy down the hall, the cold gazes like daggers in her back. Lucy opens her bedroom door, and Abigail enters. She suddenly stops, noticing someone in the bed. “Y-You’ve been… cheating on me?” She asks, tears welling in her eyes. Lucy shakes her head, approaching the figure in the bed. “Not quite… I’d have to do two things to cheat on you.” She says. She smirks, shaking the figure awake. “First, I’d have to sleep with someone other than you…” She starts. The figure rises, rubbing her eyes and brushing the hair out of her face. “...And I’d have to sleep with someone to begin with. I’ve had sex with her, sure. But not this exact one.” Lucy finishes, revealing Abigail's clone. The clone smiles and waves. “Hello, me. I’m you!” She says excitedly. Abigail looks between the clone and Lucy. “M-My clone…?” She asks. The clone nods. “Yeah, so when The Director kidnapped you, he stole some of your DNA… maybe a hair? Saliva? I don’t know, it doesn’t matter. Point is, he made me out of you!” She exclaims. Abigail looks over at Lucy, her eyebrows raised. “Why?” She asks. The clone speaks up. “Um, it was to lure you guys out and kill you all. But I couldn't after Lucy and I had a heart-to-heart. Also! Fun fact! In a way, I’m your daughter!” The clone says. Abigail shakes her head. “But, why? Why does everyone seem so… distant?” She asks. Lucy takes a deep breath. “After you were taken… And this clone came in and showed everyone a new you. A… nicer you…” She says quietly at the end. Abigail stiffens, and the clone looks away. “What do you mean, ‘nicer’?” She demands. Lucy sighs. “When this one got here, everyone realized how… mean you were. Especially to me.” She says. Lucy looks away sadly, and Abigail shakes her head. “I wasn’t mean to you! I never-” “Father Adam launched the nukes. You beat your arm to a pulp and screamed at Lucy for it. And when you called her a hypocrite for infecting the Spencers. You’ve done it enough for everyone to notice.” The clone says. Abigail looks down. “I… I never meant… I’m sorry…” She stammers. Suddenly, wind rushes all around them. “What the fuck…?” Lucy asks. “Sorry, ladies. Mind if I borrow you guys for a second? It’s REAL important. Life-changing, even!” The Director says with a chuckle. “OH FUCK!” Lucy exclaims, turning for the door. A loud ringing echoes in her head as she falls to the floor, the room around her fading to black.
The Consequences-
Elysium, 1998-
Lucy slowly wakes up, the rain pattering down on her face. She sits up slowly, taking in the surroundings. “Oh, Lucy-Loo… time to wake up, silly.” Someone says. She looks over, and her eyes begin glowing red. The Director stands over her, a twisted smile on his face. She suddenly is forced into the air, with massive chains wrapping around her. She looks around, spotting Kane, Rev, Riley, Frost, and both original and clone Abigail in the same predicament. “Now, here’s how this is gonna work. I’m sick of you guys pissing me off. You always manage to ruin my plans, and it’s making my boss very unhappy. So, I’m going to kill all of you.” He explains. Kane glances worriedly over to Abigail, who glares at him. “Why? Why capture us? Why not just slaughter us at the first opportunity?” She asks. The Director laughs. “Because it’s more fun to watch your friend die before you. Anywho, here’s a fun fact. I’ve gone through each of their minds. And guess what? They all look to you as the leader! Except for Riley and Leon; those two are still loyal to dear old Doctor Frost. Now, how do you think they’d feel knowing you were forced to choose who dies first?” He asks. Lucy’s eyes widen, and she begins sweating. “W-What?” She asks. The Director smiles. “You heard me. Now, I’ll start for you!” He exclaims, walking over to Frost. “Last words?” He asks. Frost looks over at Lucy, smiling. “Relax. He can’t kill me. You remember my little trick?” He asks. Lucy nods, but The Director chuckles. “This?” He asks, yanking Frost by the amulet. He rips it off of him, and Frost gasps. “Now, goodbye, you fucking moron.” The Director says sternly, grabbing the side of Frost’s head with one hand and cupping the bottom of his chin with the other. Frost gives Lucy a worried look, his eyes wide. “Lucy?” He asks. A sickening snap hits Lucy’s ears, and Frost goes limp. The Director drops him, his body hitting the street with a thud. “Now, that’s one down. Only… seven more to go.” He says. He walks over to Lucy and squats down in front of her. “Who’s next?” He asks. Lucy shakes her head. “No. NO! I’m not doing this! Fuck you!” She shouts, spitting in his face. The Director sighs, wiping the saliva off of his cheek. “Fine.” He says coldly, turning towards Riley. Her eyes widen, and she begins sobbing. “No… no… please…” She begs. The Director shrugs. “Well, since you said please…” He says. He snaps his fingers, and a small dagger appears in his hand. He slits her arm open, and blod begins pouring. “Now, this will be interesting… I wanna see what happens when I…” He trails off, watching the blood ooze back inside her body. Her veins turn black, slowly fading back to their normal color. He smiles, throwing the dagger away. “Now, I’ve been waiting for this one,” He says. He walks back over to Lucy, looking down at her. “Choose.” He demands. Lucy looks around, tears streaming down her face. “N-No…” She says. The Director opens his mouth to taunt her, but someone breaks the silence. “ME! Kill me!” Kane shouts. Lucy and The Director both look over in shock. Abigail scoffs. “As if. You’re a selfish dick, you’re not going to sacrifice yourself. You’ll beg for mercy right as he’s about to do it.” She says. Kane shakes his head. “No. Lucy’s done enough for me. I’m better now. Take me and let Lucy live. Please.” He pleads. The Director cocks his head, considering this. “Okay!” He says, teleporting in front of him. Kane makes eye contact with Lucy and smiles. “I’ll see you later, okay?” He asks. Lucy nods, sniffling. “Goodbye, Sam.” She replies. The Director smiles, throwing a punch directly at his chest. Suddenly, a portal opens right before he hits Kane’s chest, and Lucy gasps. The Director begins chuckling, and she hears a strange sound to her right. She looks over and finds The Director’s chest protruding from Abigail’s chest. She coughs up blood and slowly looks over at Lucy. “L-Lucy… don’t be s-scared… I-I’ll always be w-with… you…y-you really can m-make a difference… help your f-friends… I love you.” She says, barely getting the words out. She slowly falls forward, sliding off of The Director’s fist. “NO!” Rev shouts. Leon looks away, and Kane’s eyes water. “N-No…” He says. Lucy drowns out the surrounding sound with her screams. She fights the chains to no avail, the magical steel locking her in place. “NO!” She screams, her voice growing coarse. She closes her eyes and shakes her head. “Lucy Morningstar. I know who you are. You think I’m a fool?” The Director says. She opens her eyes, her eyes bloodshot and glowing a dark red. “...You…” She says slowly, her voice hoarse and rough. “Me.” The Director says. He walks over to Abigail’s corpse and kicks it. “She’s gone. No magical amulet to save her. She’s gone.” He says. Lucy looks up. “...Azrael… come to me…” She mumbles, and the ground around them begins to shake. Suddenly, a bright light shines down on her and The Director. “NOW!” A man screams, and Ezekiel flies down to the ground. Azrael joins him, his eyes glowing white and her eyes glowing blue. “Get them out of here!” Ezekiel shouts. Azrael nods, breaking the chains binding them. Leon grabs the wounded Riley, and Kane and Rev rush over to aid Lucy. She watches as Azrael and Ezekiel fight The Director while the other Abigail watches in horror. She makes eye contact with Lucy and runs the other way. Lucy watches as The Director grabs Ezekiel by the hair, and slits his throat with the dagger from before. Azrael flees, and The Director smiles at Lucy as she escapes through a portal opened by Jacob.
It Should Have Been Me.-
Faraday Island, 1998-
Those that are left, being Lucy, Azrael, Kane, Rev, Leon, Jacob, and a sick Riley, all sit on the floor inside of the old facility. “W-Where are we?” Rev asks. Jacob stretches his arms, yawning. “Faraday Island. Home of a large generator that allows Division 18 to run… basically, this is the last place he’d look for us.” He replies. Azrael stands up, looking down at Lucy. She offers a hand, and Lucy accepts. She gets to her feet and looks over at Leon. He’s watching Riley, whose blood now runs black and her skin is pale. “Jacob. I appreciate your help, but we need you to focus on whatever’s wrong with Riley.” She commands. Jacob sarcastically salutes her. “Yes, Ma’am.” He replies, approaching the sick woman. He grabs her, picking her up and throwing her over his shoulder. “Relax, kid. She’ll be fine enough.” He says, leaving the room. Lucy looks back towards Rev, Kane, and Azrael. “Leon, go be with her. We’ll handle this.” She commands, and Leon nods. He rushes after Jacob, closing the door behind him. Rev sighs, and Kane bangs his head against the wall. “Fuck… FUCK!” He shouts, slamming his fist against it. Rev looks over at him, then at Lucy. She just stares at him. “It’s not your fault.” She says. Kane nods, swallowing. “I know… I know…” He says, beginning to cry. Lucy walks over and hugs him, and he hugs back. “I’m sorry, Lucy… I’m so sorry…” He says. Lucy nods, crying into his shoulder. “Me too…” She says. Rev shakes his head. “You know what? No. I’m not going to stand here and be miserable when we can go fuck this asshole up! We have a fucking Angel! He’s got no chance!” He exclaims. Azrael shakes her head. “No. You saw what he did to Ezekiel. He was a friend, and The Director killed him with ease.” She says. Kane breaks away from Lucy, approaching Azrael. “We need to go. We need to find someone, and I think I know who can help.” He says. Azrael’s eyebrows raise, and she tilts her head. “Oh? Why me?” She asks. Kane glares over at Lucy, his eyes still red. “She needs time to mourn, and Rev is too fiery for it. I’m smart enough to talk to this guy, and you’re strong enough to take care of it if he doesn’t want to help and instead gets hostile.” He says. Kane takes a deep breath and turns around to face Lucy. “This is a new Dimension, right? We’ve never been here?” He asks. Lucy nods, wiping a tear from her eye. Kane smiles. “I’m going to go find Andrew Clarkson. He’s smart enough to know how to build a weapon capable of killing that smug bastard. If not, I should at least try.” He says. He walks past her, but she grabs him by the arm. “No. Not him. Please. Kane, please.” She begs. Kane looks away. “I’m sorry. But he’s the only one I can think of… Abigail is… Frost too… that clone is MIA, and Jacob’s untrustworthy. I’m sorry, Lucy, but he’s all we got. I know you dread him and the weight he carries, but he’s necessary.” He says. Lucy frowns, turning away. “Whatever. Just don’t bring him around here.” She says, storming off. Azrael shrugs, looking over at Rev. “I believe you should be in charge for a while. Lucy needs to collect herself.” She says. Rev nods. She smiles and walks over to Kane. “Shall we get going?” She asks. Kane takes a shaky breath and nods. “Yeah.” He says.
Parting Of The Ways-
Faraday Island, 1998-
Azrael and Kane walk in silence towards the car. After they both get in, Azrael breaks the silence. “Who is Adam Clarkson?” She asks. Kane glances in the rearview mirror as the car starts. “He was an old friend of mine, back in the Dimension we’re all from. Rev, Abigail, and I, at least. He was one of the people who helped me discover that strange man below the ice. He died, unfortunately. Shot by Division 18 during the incursion at North Reach… but this is before then. If we can find him before 2016, we should be fine. Assuming North Reach happens here as well.” He explains. The car races down the road, and Azrael looks out the window. The water below the large bridge is mesmerizing. She shakes her head, looking back over at the handsome man driving. “Why does Lucy not like him?” She asks, and Kane smiles. “It’s nothing heavy, she’s just being dramatic. Back in the day, before she met me, Adam and I would prank Abigail. One day, Abigail told her about the pranks, and she, in typical Bright fashion, apparently exaggerated the stories. So when we stole her research into The Mind Breaker, she assumed it was to release him. I knew better, and when-” “You are lying.” Azrael says coldly. Kane sighs. “Fine. You’re right. It’s just… what he did wasn’t malicious. It was honest to God trying to benefit the world, but… You know what they say about the road to Hell.” He says. Azrael frowns. “It is long and hot?” She asks. Kane chuckles. “No, it’s paved with good intentions. People try too hard to be good, and they end up doing bad. Doctor Adam Clarkson was trying to find a cure for cancer when he joined me on that expedition to the Arctic. When we found Harold, he extracted some blood and found it had regenerative properties. Adam, the fool, decided to inject some in his dying wife’s arms. And then…” He trails off. Azrael looks worriedly at him. “What happened, Kane?” She asks. Kane takes a shaky breath. “Were you there?” He asks. Azrael shakes her head. “Where?” She asks. Kane exhales, seemingly forcing himself to spit out the answer. “...North Reach, Michigan,” He says coldly. Azrael nods. “Oh… yes, I was. I was sent there by The Director to hunt down soldiers and civilians… I killed… many.” She replies. Kane nods. “So did I. Well, when he injected his wife with Harold’s blood, she… she died. And came back. He called it the Lazarus Serum, but when North Reach happened, everyone began calling it ‘NRV,’ short for the North Reach Virus,” Kane says. Azrael’s heart drops. “Oh, I am sorry, Kane. You believe this man can help us kill The Director?” She asks. The car races over the bridge, approaching the mainland quickly. “No, but he can help us find someone who can,” He says as the car races into California.
