CHAPTER 2.4: Yan Qi and the Mayis

Guo Dalu sighed. "I was never an honest man to begin with—there isn't a single part of me that is."

Hong Mayi chuckled. "Are you saying you're a lecher?"

Guo Dalu replied, "I'm not entirely one, but not far from it either. It's just a pity."

The smile on Hong Mayi's face suddenly disappeared. "A pity? What do you mean?"

Guo Dalu said, "A pity that people can't shrink in size. Otherwise, I wouldn't mind turning into a yellow ant."

Hong Mayi bit her lip, then smiled sweetly again. "You sure have guts to flirt with me. Aren't you afraid my husband will get jealous?"

Guo Dalu asked, "And who is your husband? Bai Mayi? I hear Bai Mayi can fly."

Hong Mayi giggled. "You're right again! What a child prodigy you are."

Her silver-bell ughter rang out when, all of a sudden, something flew in through the window.

No matter how one looked at it, that thing didn′t seem human. It was as light as a wisp of cloud, as soft as a fke of snow, floating into the room before suddenly swooping over Guo Dalu′s head with a sharp "whoosh."

A chill brushed over Guo Dalu′s scalp—had he not dodged quickly, his head might have been separated from his body.

Then came another sharp "whoosh" as the figure circled back.

This was certainly no ordinary person, for no human could possess such terrifying agility.

And yet, he was human—a man dressed in flowing white robes, his sleeves wide and long like a pair of wings. His body was thin and small, no more than three and a half feet tall and less than a foot wide. If pced on a scale, he probably wouldn′t weigh much more than a rabbit.

If he weren′t such an unusual person, how could he have mastered such an extraordinary skill?

Guo Dalu sighed again and muttered, "Bai Maiyi really can fly."

Yan Qi said, "Bai Maiyi′s lightness skill is the best in the world. Hong Maiyi has hidden weapons all over her body; Jin Maiyi excels in both fists and swords; and Yin Maiyi is invulnerable to knives and spears. I told you before that each of them has a very special skill. Now, you should believe it."

Guo Dalu gave a bitter smile and said, "Do you want me to crawl now, or should I wait a little longer?"

Bai Maiyi coldly replied, "It′s best you crawl now, crawl out, or you'll be carried out."

Hong Maiyi giggled and said, "See, I told you he′d get jealous. Now, you should believe it, right?"

The Golden Ant said, "Our matters have nothing to do with you; it's still better for you to crawl out."

Guo Dalu said, "I won′t crawl. You better teach me first."

Hong Maiyi ughed, "Looks like bringing just one coffin was really too few. We should′ve brought three."

Guo Dalu asked, "You brought coffins too? Are you really going to nail him into one?"

Jin Maiyi said, "I′ve told you before, every word he says is true."

Yan Qi suddenly patted Guo Dalu's shoulder and ughed, "This trouble was caused by me. No need for you to be a hero or mind other people's business."

Hong Maiyi chuckled, "That's more like it. Anyway, you′ve died seven times already.

  What′s another time?"

Yan Qi said, "This is someone else's pce. If I′m going to die, I can't die here."

Bai Maiyi said, "Then you should leave."

Yan Qi patted his clothes and ughed, "Leave, then I′ll leave... Two of you, if I don′t die this time, I′ll definitely come back to drink with you."

Wang Dong had been lying on the bed without moving but suddenly spoke, "Wait a minute."

Jin Maiyi asked, "Wait for what?"

Wang Dong replied, "Do you know where this pce is?"

Hong Maiyi giggled and said, "I know, this is your pigsty."

Wang Dong replied, "If this is a pig, then I′m the King of Pigs. Whoever comes here must listen to me."

Jin Maiyi angrily said, "What do you want?"

Wang Dong replied, "I want Yan Qi to stay here and drink with me. It′s not easy to find someone else who can drink while hanging upside down. How could I let him sleep in a coffin?"

Guo Dalu ughed and said, "Are you making a move?"

Wang Dong replied, "These maiyis bite, so even if I don′t want to move, I have no choice."

Guo Dalu asked, "How are you going to move?"

Wang Dong said, "Hong Maiyi is mine, and the Bai Maiyi is yours."

Wang Dong, when he decided to move, moved fast and decisively.

As soon as he finished speaking, his body suddenly sprang up from the bed and lunged forward.

Not only did his body leap out, but the bnket covering him followed along.

He had locked onto Hong Mayi as his target.

But Hong Maiyi couldn′t even see his figure—she only saw a dark, heavy quilt rolling toward her.

With a swift turn of her body, she unleashed three or four hidden weapons of various shapes and colors. Some shot out fast and sharp; some collided with each other midair, while others spun as they flew.

Because she was small, her concealed weapons were also particurly tiny.

And because they were so small, they cut through the air with incredible force, making them both deadly and difficult to evade.

But she had overlooked one thing—the quilt wasn′t human.

  A quilt couldn′t be killed.

No matter how ingenious her weapons were or how precise her technique, they were utterly useless.

A series of rapid thuds echoed as thirty to forty hidden weapons struck the quilt—but the quilt was soaked in rd, duck fat, chicken grease, and sesame oil.
