Chapter One
The faint morning light crept in through the gap in the curtains, and she lay with her eyes open, staring at the ceiling. Her eyes were devoid of any vitality, and the sound of even breathing could be heard beside her ear. She slowly sat up, got out of bed quietly, and slowly squatted down. Time seemed to have stood still, and after squatting for too long, her legs gradually became numb. She slowly opened the second drawer of the bedside cabinet, and a cold, dark light flashed before her eyes.
A sharp fruit knife was placed there.
She slowly stretched out her hand, and when the palm of her finger touched the icy blade, she suddenly trembled, as if electrocuted, and quickly withdrew her hand. Without caring about waking up the person beside her, she slammed the drawer shut with a bang.
"What's it to you?" The man spoke in a low, gravelly voice, somewhat annoyed.
She went back to bed and lay down, "Headache, find medicine." Her voice was trembling due to tension. The person beside her didn't say anything else. Ning tightly clenched her fists, and in her mind, she slowly thought of many people, telling herself that she couldn't have such thoughts again.
When she woke up again, it was already past seven. Ning looked at the time and hurriedly got up. After quickly washing up, she grabbed her bag and rushed downstairs in a hurry.
"What's wrong? Is there a tiger behind you?" He Baiyao said coldly.
"I'm late." She said with her head down while changing shoes.
"Is it? We haven't seen each other for a week, have we? You don't want to see me that much?"
She furrowed her brow quickly and said, "I'm going to see my thesis advisor today." She composed herself and stood up, looking at him.
At a distance of seven or eight meters, she watched him elegantly holding his knife and fork, with an indifferent expression on his face, his eyes simply gazing at her, seemingly smiling yet not.
Ning had always known that He Baiyu had a handsome face, and when she first saw him, she couldn't help but take a few more glances. Now, she didn't even want to look at him once.
He Baiyao picked up the phone next to him, his fingertips moved lightly a few times, "Secretary Zhou, contact Director Gu of X University, Ning is going to take a vacation during this period."
She stared blankly at him, her throat as if choked by something.
"Have breakfast with me." He said lightly, but with an unmistakable tone of command.
It seemed she had already gotten used to it, and her temper hadn't erupted yet. Her legs felt like they were filled with lead, but she still walked over to the dining table. Her breakfast was already prepared, and she sat down.
He Baiyao has always liked others to follow him. How could he have forgotten?
The large dining hall was quiet, seemingly with only two people's breathing sounds.
He Baiyao suddenly put down his utensils, his voice somewhat abrupt.
"Do you remember what you promised me at the beginning?" He Baiyao narrowed his eyes, with a smile on his face. Although he was smiling, Ning Si felt a sense of danger.
"Knew I was coming back, so rushed back here last night, huh?"
Whether it is continuing to wipe jam.
He Baiyao suddenly pulled her over, the spoon in his hand fell to the table, and the jam splashed. "Sore throat? Can't speak?"
She clenched her teeth and endured the dull pain in her waist. "Yes, I knew you were coming back, so I came back." She said word by word.
He Baiyao sneered, "You're just pretending to obey while secretly disobeying. Fine, from now on, you'll be driven around by a chauffeur whenever you go out."
She raised her voice and interrupted him. Her eyes were red as she grasped his sleeve with a reversed hand, "You can't do this."
"Can't I?" He suddenly smiled.
Either she heard the sarcasm in his laughter or she softened her tone, "I really have something on."
He Baiyao looked at her, his eyes growing colder as if he wanted to see right through her. He slowly raised an eyebrow, "Ning Xi, your lying skills are getting better and better." He reached out from the side and pulled out a file folder, heavily slamming it onto the desktop. "Is this what you meant by 'something's come up'?"
She stared at him in astonishment.
Application for Tibet Branch School
"Want to leave?" He Baiyao's eyes had lost all warmth.
She slightly closed her eyes and when she opened them again, there was an added strength. "I have nothing to do with He Bai Chen! You said you would let go."
He Baiyao looked at her stubborn expression, and a surge of anger suddenly rose in his heart. His grip on her hand tightened, "What's that supposed to mean? You think this world is too simple."
"Are you afraid of retribution, He Baiyao?"
"Revenge?" He sneered, "The knife you bought is very sharp." He whispered in her ear, "You can't escape, stay by my side obediently."
What does he take her for?
Forcing herself to calm down, she glared at him with unconcealed resentment and deep despair in her eyes, as well as a hint of desperation that was slowly surfacing.
She still hasn't learned to cover up.
She looked at him in a fluster, when would she be able to get rid of him completely?
