As Bobby and his group sat discussing the Kamden Crew on one of the tables in the cafeteria Mr Skorne walked in, looking like he had come to find Gary again. He seemed to catch the tail end of their conversation, but his expression changed to one of shock when he heard the name of the gang they were planning to take over.
“Did you say Kamden Crew?” the man asked slightly urgently.
“Yes, we are planning to take them over, like we did with this place.” Gary said.
“What do you know of them?” asked Bobby.
“What do I know? Everything. I spent years trying to get my son to leave them, then when I finally started to get him to come around I was kidnapped and shoved in a cell for months.”
“We could use him as an inside man,” Michaela suggested, “Is he trustworthy?”
“He will be when he finds out what the gangs have been doing, there’s no way he’d continue working for them once he finds out what's been done to me,” the lawyer said angrily.
“Can you arrange a meeting with him?” Bobby said.
“Yes, I needed to go see him soon anyway. Also why is there a rat sitting on the table?”

A week later they had arranged a meeting with Mr Skorne’s son and were waiting for the man in a long abandoned supermarket. Arranging this meeting had been a bit of a pain, but they’d managed to convince him eventually. The son had wanted to do it digitally, but Bobby didn’t trust him not to spill the beans to his superiors until he had seen the man's lack of loyalty for himself.
Mr Skorne’s son ended up being an hour late to the meeting. But they knew when he arrived due to the rumbling of his engine. From a first glance Bobby could tell the motorbike was electric, one of the ones with a whole system designed to emulate the noise of their petrol counterparts. The manufacturers had done a good job of course, but you could tell something about the noise was slightly off.
The bike pulled into the supermarket, past the old checkouts, before stopping when the rider spotted the mutant lawyer. For a moment father and estranged son stared at each other silently. Then smiles cracked both their faces and the man hopped off his bike with the grace of an athlete, leaping forward and wrapping his father into a hug. Bobby watched the man's muscles ripple, barely disguised under his shirt, it was definitely the type of build you’d gain from working heavily with body enhancement drugs.

“Dad, where have you been all this time, you vanished and I searched for ages, but could find no traces,” his tone was filled with worry and a slight tremble that betrayed his toughened exterior.
Mr Skorne was being hugged too tight by his son to breathe, let alone reply, and the man realised that quite quickly and let him go. “Well Sammy it’s a bit of a long story, but I do appear to have been kidnapped and—”
Sammy cut him off by whipping round to Bobby and Gary with a glare and a snarl (they had decided to leave everyone else to hold the fort). “Was it you two? You will pay if I find you’ve harmed a hair on his head!”
“No, no, calm down, they actually were the ones to save me. They released me from the basement where I was being kept confined by the previous leaders of the Jameson Jockey Jedi.”
“Why would they kidnap you?” said Sammy, bewilderment covering his face.
“They were running illegal genetic experiments,” said Mr Skorne, taking off his shades to reveal his bug-like compound eyes.
“What… how… why?” Sammy didn’t quite manage to figure out what question he wanted to ask, so Bobby decided to insert himself into the dialogue.
“Your father got off lightly compared to some of the cases we’ve seen. We suspect this is happening all over the city and in all gangs, including yours, so I plan to take them all over to put a stop to it and find whoever’s responsible and make them accountable.”
Sammy mulled over something in his head for a bit, before steeling his expression with resolve, “How can I help?”
“We need to get into your gang, to take them by surprise and subdue whoever the leader is before the whole gang comes down on us, can you find an excuse to sneak us in?”
“I should be able to sneak you onto the bottom of the guest list for the next arena fight. It’s a masquerade ball themed event, so I can get around twenty of you in, though no more otherwise people will notice something is fishy and you’ll probably be killed on sight.”
Gary did his strategy thinking magic before coming up with a plan. “If we sneak in you and twenty men or skeletons, then when you begin causing chaos I can use the distraction to sneak in the rest of our troops and overrun them before they know what’s hit them.”
“Skeletons? What are you talking about?” Sammy said.
“Ah you’ll see them in action, these fine men have an elite group of soldiers trained for deadly situations, they are borderline bullet proof and will do absolutely anything you tell them without hesitation.” Mr Skorne told his son.
“Wow, you might have a good chance of taking over the Kamden Crew then. Are these soldiers of yours strong?”
“Maybe not as much as your muscled menace of a gang, but they will definitely outlast you stamina wise,” Gary said.
Bobby was trying very hard not to laugh.
