Jyu believed that his demon power was at the Supreme level. However, that confidence instantly crumbled the moment he saw Kuma’s form. It was quite reasonable, because standing before him now was a doll demon whose appearance was truly unworthy of being called a demon.
Kuma was a teddy bear doll demon, only half a meter tall. In truth, his form was rather frightening, his face fierce with sharp fangs and cws.
Jyu crouched in front of Kuma, observing every detail of his body.
“Grrr,” Kuma made a sound, as if trying to speak to Jyu.
Jyu was startled, losing his bance and falling backwards. “So you can make sounds?”
In an instant, the annoyed expression on his face transformed into happiness. In Jyu’s eyes, Kuma now looked incredibly adorable. He immediately lifted Kuma’s body, as if inviting a little child to py.
Now Jyu felt like he had a new toy, because basically dolls are toys and companions for lonely humans. Just like Jyu, who lived all alone and had no close friends.
For some reason, Kuma’s presence made Jyu even happier. It was as if he gained emotional support, along with the warmth of an embrace. Without further ado, he tightly hugged Kuma, making the demon quite irritated.
“Grrr,” said Kuma as he struggled, trying to free himself from Jyu’s grip.
“Okay, I’ll let you go! We’re friends now, alright!” Jyu said with a bright smile on his lips.
Kuma’s behaviour truly resembled that of a toddler who loved running and jumping. The four-meter-wide room became a delightful pyground for him. His movements were agile, every step and swing of his arms so light. Kuma was like a dancer, each motion graceful and fluid.
While eating
Jyu could only ugh at his demon’s antics. But he quickly caught Kuma, so his behaviour wouldn’t get out of hand and destroy all the furniture in the room.
“Hey, stop already!” he said while grabbing Kuma’s hand, causing him to dangle like a child being scolded by his parent.
“Now sit here, keep me company while I eat, and after this we’ll sleep on this bed,” Jyu said again, seating Kuma on the edge of the bed.
---
An arm rang loudly at exactly six in the morning. Five seconds ter, a man’s voice echoed through every room.
“In thirty minutes, you must gather at the training ground.”
Of course, Jyu woke from his sleep, and right beside him, Kuma was still lost in dreams. Jyu did not want to wake him, so he immediately sent him back into his soul core.
The soul core was the fundamental power of a human, especially for those who had awakened demon power. Besides that, the soul core was also the dwelling pce of demons. Within the soul core, a demon would rest or recover from wounds sustained during battle. Indirectly, the demon absorbed energy from its master.
After sending Kuma back into the soul core, Jyu briefly studied his power. He immediately summoned the rune, which in an instant appeared within his mind.

Jyu read every piece of information carefully. “Kuma’s power is indeed special, but he doesn’t have long-range combat abilities.”
However, when he examined his strength again, Jyu’s confidence instead shrank. Kuma’s status influenced this as a Supreme-level demon, while he himself was merely a human at the Awakened level. That meant the power gap between master and demon was enormous.
Jyu's unease was also based on Kuma’s listed weakness. Jyu did not understand it, because in his opinion Kuma’s imagination power was not a weakness. Being able to open and close dimensional portals was a privilege not everyone possessed.
“There must be a mistake, this shouldn’t be a weakness.”
Meanwhile, Jyu only understood Kuma’s imagination power as an advantage. He did not want to dwell on it any longer, because now he had to hurry to the training ground.
He promptly closed the rune and quickly prepared himself. It did not take long before he was ready to undergo today’s training.
When he left the room, Jyu immediately encountered the other students. They also hurried toward the elevator to descend to the third floor, where the training ground was located.
Now there were five people inside the elevator, one woman and four men, one of whom was Jyu. All of them wore green T-shirts and long pants.
Perhaps Jyu was the youngest here. Based on his assumption, the other four were 25 years old or older and had been in the DV Army longer. Just an assumption, of course not necessarily correct! But from this assumption, Jyu could specute that he must show respect. As far as he knew, in the military, seniority was highly regarded. Thus, the younger must respect the older.
The other four seemed to know one another already. But Jyu, being the newcomer, could only remain silent and occasionally gnce at them to memorise their faces one by one.
When they arrived on the third floor, everyone immediately ran to join the formation. There was already a line consisting of ten people. Jyu hurried to follow them and joined the row, though he stood at the very back.
The third floor was a training area specially designed for the DV Army. It was essentially just an expanse of nd, but at the far front there was a small room designated for senior soldiers who would conduct the training. Uniquely, there were artificial hills on this third floor, creating an outdoor atmosphere, making it perfect as a training ground.
Not long after, the morning session began. A man approached Jyu, along with the other students. It turned out to be Wirtz, appearing in the same attire as when he had picked up Jyu.
“Good morning, everyone!” Wirtz said firmly.
“Good morning, Master Wirtz!” all the students shouted.
Wirtz observed all the students.
“Today we have a new friend. Step forward!” he said again while pointing at Jyu at the back of the line.
Jyu was quite nervous, but he quickly regained his composure. He stepped forward and stood right beside Wirtz.
“Introduce yourself and show your demon,” Wirtz said.
Jyu was shocked by the request. “What? My demon!”
“Don’t ask too many questions, just release your demon right now. This is the easiest way for your comrades to know your strength. It will be very useful in real combat.”
Jyu could only surrender. He closed his eyes briefly. A second ter, Kuma appeared right in front of him.
“Let me introduce myself, I’m Jyu, and this is my demon, Kuma.”
Unexpectedly, all the students and even several seniors present burst into ughter. The sound was so loud that it made Jyu’s courage shrink in embarrassment.
