I was walking around the floating island again. It always brought me peace when I was up here. The island has always been mysterious to me now even more so that I know the kind of history it has. I went over to the ruins of the Eshkichin people. I didn’t know they were Eshkichin until Ashathink. I’ve been starting to see her less as a crazy ancient girl and more of just a normal person.

I sat down on a broken building part. I wondered why nobody was hellbent on discovering the secrets of a place like this. It was a history mystery in my opinion, plus there isn’t a lot of information about Eshkichinsk, mostly just Heskians. I picked up a stone tablet from the floor. It was depicting the three gods of the tribes that lived up here.

I was interrupted by my thoughts when I heard fast footsteps approaching.

“Oh great, what is it now?” I groaned.

“This is going to sound crazy but the government is after us!” yelled Torshik.

My eyes widened, “What!? What did you do?!”

“Ashathink told us the true story of Artonia. Artonia didn’t save the Heskians! She got so enraged she had to be sealed into a gem! And she’s been sealed in there for all of time! They just made it up to make Heskians look like saints!” said Torshik.

“You should understand that it’s reasonable that this is a lot of information to take in and I don’t fully believe you guys?” said Knicatru.

“Why would we have a reason to lie? Please… Ashathink is already in danger and I don’t want you to be in danger as well.”

We heard a plane in the distance coming over here.

“Sh…arp they’re after us! We got to move quick!” I knew what Shade almost said and was glad he didn’t say it in front of Torshik.

We ran underneath some trees and the helicopter landed near the ruins. A bunch of soldiers stepped out, they had flashlights, guns, and search kroskis (like a search dog but they can smell further).

“We have to move further into the forest.” Torshik whispered.

Me and Shade nodded and started quietly moving away from the ruins. I stepped on a twig and their heads immediately snapped towards where we were.

“We gotta go. Faster.” said Shade.

We started running. They let the kroskis go and the kroskis ran at us at top speed. Shade picked up Torshik in his arms and grabbed my hand and sped away.

Once we were finally safe, Shade took a moment to catch his breath. Torshik looked around the area. It was starting to be eclipse (because our moon is so big and rotates so fast it covers our star for a bit).

“We should camp here for now.” said Torshik.

“We can’t, it’s still too close to where they almost found us, Shade didn’t run that far.” I told Torshik.

“Knicatru’s right kiddo, but we also might not have much of a choice. I used a lot of energy carrying both you and Knicatru over here with superspeed.” added Shade.

“Well we have to do something!” said Torshik.

“You’re right… the only question is what to do?” I replied.

Torshik paused and thought for a moment. He then finally spoke up, “Let’s try to make it back home! I can get some of my tech which might help us.”

“Are you sure that isn’t too risky?” asked Shade.

“The government won’t think we’re dumb enough to go back home! I’ll only get a few things and we’ll be out.”

Shade sighed, “Alright bud. But be quick about getting your stuff.”

“Do you still have the spear, Shade?”

“Yeah of- oh I could have teleported earlier.”

“You had her spear the whole time?!” asked Knicatru.

“Nevermind that, we can use it now to get home quickly and safely! So come on!”
