Chapter 3: The Storm with Crimson Eyes
Narrator:
Scene: At sea, aboard Rago’s patched-up skiff
The sea is unnaturally still. Too still.
The sky is a sheet of cold, metallic grey.
Kael stands at the bow, eyes closed, listening to whispers only he can hear.
Rago grips the tiller, muttering half-forgotten prayers under his breath.
Rago (quietly):
“We’re getting close… I can feel it. That cursed current hasn’t changed one bit.”
Kael (opening one eye):
“What are you talking about?”
Rago (voice darkening):
“The Graveyard of Currents.
Where ships go to shatter and vanish without a ripple.
Where I lost everything.”
Sudden Shift :
The wind dies completely.
Silence presses down like a physical weight.
Then a low, bone-deep rumble rises from the depths.
Crimson lightning cracks across the sky.
The sea heaves upward in slow, monstrous pulses.
Kael (breathing hard):
“Something… is calling me.”
He drops to his knees, hands clamped to his temples.

A voice booms inside his skull ancient, vast, inhuman.
> Voice: “You carry the spark.
> You are not ready.
> Turn back… or be judged.”
Emergence: Nagarai, the Eye That Never Sleeps
A colossal shape breaks the surface.
Tentacles of mist and foam twist into the air.
A single cyclopean red eye opens in the heart of the waves.
The sky bleeds crimson.
The wind screams.
Rago (voice cracking with terror):
“No… not him again! NOT HIM!”
He yanks the tiller hard, but the little boat is lifted like a leaf in a hurricane.
Clash: Kael vs. the Eye
Kael staggers to his feet.
He thrusts one hand forward.
Wind spirals violently around him.
The strange blue markings on his right arm flare with inner light.
Kael (shouting over the roar):
“I’m not running!
If you want to judge me… then LOOK AT ME!”
The wind coils into a screaming vortex around his body.
Nagarai’s eye narrows.
A thick beam of searing red light lances straight toward Kael.
Revelation: The Breath of Azure
Right at the moment of impact
a blinding burst of azure light erupts from Kael’s core.
The crimson beam shatters and bends away.
The leviathan recoils with a guttural, world-shaking growl.
The sky tears open.
Then silence.
The storm collapses instantly.
Kael crumples like a cut string.
Rago lunges and barely catches him before he hits the deck.
Rago (stunned, almost reverent):
“The Breath of Azure… he actually woke it.
This kid… he really is tied to the Eye.”
End of Chapter :
The sea flattens once more, eerily calm.
Nagarai sinks back into the black depths…
but that single red eye remains open somewhere far below the surface.
Rago stares down at the unconscious boy in his arms and whispers hoarsely:
Rago:
“You just declared war on forces even the gods have forgotten…”
