CHAPTER 4: The day of departure. Part 1

“Get ready, you two.” Wu Lin said, “We will leave next week.”

Saying that she turned back to walk out before glancing at Asashi to know if he is following her. Knowing that he is behind her, a smile tugged at her lips.

‘Yeah, follow me. Behind me is where you're always supposed to be.’

Wu Lin walked in front of Asashi with her head held high and her chest pushed out. Her black hair and hips swayed in unison.

Wu Lin once again glanced behind, Asashi should have been annoying her, but now he's very silent. Of course, Wu Lin felt something off.

When she turned back, there was only a narrow hall with doors on each side. There was no sight of Asashi.

Wu Lin’s fingers curled into a fist as her mouth hung open.

  ‘Seriously, where did he go?...’

DUNGEON, LEFT WING OF FINAL LEGION.

  DING!

The elevator door split opened as the voice inside said “FLOOR -5, DUNGEON”

Asashi stepped out and walked straight down the hall.

The hall was dimly lit, even though it was called a dungeon, it was just as the same as other floors of the Elysium Ark.

But unlike the other floors, this floor acts like a kitchen, the power room, and a detention center for law breakers and the academy students.

And currently Asashi was here to see a group of people who were put in detention.

He stood in front of a large metal door and watched as the guard opened the door. Asashi stepped inside the room, and realised that the door had been closed behind his back.

The room was lit brightly compared to the earlier veranda.

The author's narrative has been misappropriated; report any instances of this story on Amazon.

There were five people in total here, all dressed in orange shirts and pants. Asashi sensed all of their gazes on him.

Asashi quickly glanced at them, the one closest to him was a tall woman. Her wavy black hair cascaded down her shoulder. On her name tag, it was written ‘Mary Thomas.’

Beside her was short girl, perhaps the youngest of all people in here. Her blonde hair was tied in a neat bun. She fidgeted slightly when Asashi's gaze fell up on her.

  ‘Bolorma saran’

And to Asashi's right side was a tall and lean man, his blue eyes winked when Asashi's eyes locked with him. Even Asashi was able to tell he got a handsome face.

  ‘Max streppin’

A girl peeked out behind him, her hands wrapped around Max.

‘Maya’ Asashi shook his head as he saw she didn't give him any attention.

Suddenly a voices called out, “Asashi!”

Asashi quickly turned his face to look straight ahead. The owner of the voice was waving his hand as he was walking closer to him with a smile.

This man was short and slim with the face of a baby.

  ‘Glen.’

Mary snorted, “Heh! It seems the captain has also been sent to detention.” she said as she walked around Asashi. She wrapped her hands around his neck as she leaned on him.

“Didn't get anyone to do your wicked ideas this time?” Mary asked.

“Shut it, Mary. He is probably here to bail us out.” Max said from the side.

Asashi smirked at their assumptions as he knew he was here for a reason they wouldn't even have imagined. “No, no, you're both wrong.” He said.

All of their mouths suddenly opened slightly but no voice came out. Well, except for Glen.

“Were you selected into the team?” Glen asked with a smile, making everyone else look at him.

  “Wh-What team, c-captain?” Bolorma stuttered.

Asashi sighed exaggeratedly, “The legion scientists have found two planets with the potential of having life. I'm selected as part of the team going there.” He continued, “But sadly, I was not to take my team of troublemakers there.”

“What!?” Everyone shouted in unison, even Maya did.

“Wait…why are we not coming?” Mary asked, “We are supposed to be with our captain, right?” She asked Bolorma.

  “R-righ!” She nodded.

“Heh! Sorry guys. No, can't do.” Asashi said, “Don't do anything while I'm away.”

He said as he turned back to leave when the door opened again, leaving everyone gritting their teeth at him. After all, all of them are here doing what he told them to do. Except for Maya, she was just here for Max.

“Oh, it seems like I will be leaving next week, so don't make any problems for me when I return.” Asashi said without turning back and disappeared behind the door.

The five of them stood there in silence for a while until Maya said, “Well, you're the one who forced us to cause problems…”

  “True” Glen agreed.

  ANTI-MATTER LAUNCH FACILITY, ELYSIUM ARK

Asashi didn't even know how fast the day to depart has arrived. He wore his space jacket and held his helmet in hand as he stood on the rail with his grandfather, watching the crew doing their final check up.

“Asashi,” Ayub said slowly, “You will be spending 20 days of earth time there. Which is approximately 70 hours in PLANET-B. Are you scared?” He asked.

Asashi exhaled slightly before smiling, “No, I'm not.” He said.

Just as they were talking, Wu Lin approached them. She gave a standard salute to Ayub, “Sir, it's time.” She said.

She wore a similar space jacket and helmet as Asashi. Her hair, unlike before, was tied behind her back, which made her really eye-catching.

Ayub nodded at her in response. “I hope good news from you.” He said, “Off you go now.”

Asashi and Wu Lin saluted once again before walking down to meet other crew members.

Asashi couldn't help but feel excited. His hands trembled at the thought of going to space. To a planet where no one has ever set foot in.

‘Mom, dad, I'm coming.’. He said to himself as he believed, he is going to find his parents on this planet full of birds.

Just before him, rested the space craft, which could take him there in an instant. And below them seven people stood, wearing the same white space jackets and helmet.

They waved their hands when they saw Asashi and Wu Lin walking towards them.

Ayub watched as his grandson walking towards the space craft.

His eyes moistened slightly as he sighed.

“I hope things will be different this time.” He muttered to himself.
