The Lost Vampire System Chapter 7 - A Cambion

  “The test will continue,” Stacy announced. “Emma Pierce, please step forward.”

  Emma stepped forward. She took the two crossbows from her back and held them in her hands.

  “What is your Evolved power or powers,” Stacy asked not looking up from her tablet.

  Emma didn’t answer for a moment then she did, “I am able to manipulate the emotion of love from the people around me into energy,” she said with a nervous smile. “I guess that’s the only way I can describe it.”

  Everyone raised an eyebrow including Stacy who stopped what she was doing and looked up. She then put her tablet to her chest. She then explained the test and gave Emma time to prepare unlike what she did for Jareth.

  “Are you ready,” Stacy asked.

  “I need a moment,” Emma said while turning around to face us. “Think about what you love most,” she said.

  The group looked at each other wondering why she asked such a question. Jareth thought about his sister and her being able to get along with others. As soon as Jareth thought about this Emma faced Stacy.

  “Ready,” she said.

  “Your test begins now,” Stacy responded.

  The targets closed and new ones popped up. Emma then raised her crossbows and pink energy swirled around and formed arrows in her automatic crossbow. She fired her crossbow, and the two pink energy arrows successfully hit their respective targets. The crossbow cocked itself back and she fired again. She did this two more times before all the targets were hit.

  “Good range ability,” Stacy said. “Come down here with me for the other tests.

  Both went down to the test with the paved area and the four poles, the Agility test.

  The test started. She then channeled her love energy into a whip to try and hit the spike but since it was a hologram it just went through, and she was hit on the spot.

  “Agility 1,” Stacy said with a disappointing face.

  “Wait!” Emma said with embarrassment,” let me try that again.”

  “I told you that it was a hologram. Please proceed to the next test.”

  Emma faced her head to the floor in defeat but followed Stacy to the next test, which was the drum. Her hand hit the drum and a vibration rung out. It displayed the number 10. In the next test that was in the ring she lasted for three minutes.

  “Dexterity 13,” Stacy said. “Your Stamina will be marked as a 10. You will be marked as having 1 ability and your power level is a 3. Since you only have 1 ability your total power level is 3.”

  Her information appeared on her watch marking her as having 1 ability and its power of 3 with a total power of 3. It displayed as 1:3.

  “Proceed back to the others,” Stacy said.

  Emma had her head down like she was disappointed in herself as she went up the hill to the students.

  “Madison Budok!” Stacy said as she went up the hill.”

  When the ranged test began, she stood there for a moment. We all stared at her wondering what she was going to do. Just like what Emma did, she turned around to look at us.

  “Please don’t judge harshly for what I am about to do,” Madison said with a worried expression plastered on her face.

  “We won’t judge,” Damion said giving a sweet smile.

  “We might,” Hannah said while lifting her mask slightly revealing a smooth skinned mischievous smile on her face.

  “Ignore her,” Damion stepped in front of her, and she rested her mask back on her face. “Whatever ability that you have, it cannot be that bad.”

  She slowly turned back around. That didn’t really inspire her, but Damion seems nice though. She put her arms across her chest. Her face scrunched up as the black smoke in her eyes intensified. Smoke started to come off of her body.

  “Aaaggghhh!” She screamed as black energy erupted out of her which caused a breeze.

  Everyone’s jaw dropped and the tablet that was in Stacy’s hand fell onto the ground. A demon like smoke form covered her entire body. It had a muscular body with female characteristics, sharp teeth and Vantablack type eyes (* Vantablack is considered one of the darkest man-made substances). Two black horns grew from her head. The demon then let out a horrifying scream that made everyone shiver with fear.

  “Aaghrghhh!”

  The two guards stepped forward to protect Stacy if need be.

  “Warning,” the Draven System chimed in. “An Evolved Cambion has been detected. Threat level: low.”

  A Nephilim and now a Cambion, Jareth thought. All he could think of was, what? What type of people were around him.

  Damion’s eyes glowed faintly seeing this.

  She can’t be, Damion thought as he and Hannah stepped in front of the group shielding Jareth, Emma, and Henry. Damion’s intention was to protect them while Hannah’s attention was to just fight Madison if she attacked them. Unfortunately for Hannah, Madison never attacked them. Madison just fired seven black smoke balls at the seven targets. Before the smoke balls even hit the targets, her form started to disappear. She was now back to her normal state just as all the black smoke balls hit the targets. Everyone was still on guard.

  The traits are not the same as hers. I guess she wasn’t what I thought she was, Damion pondered. She just has a unique Evolved power.

  A smile appeared on his face like nothing out of the ordinary happened.

  “Wow!” Damion said excitedly. “I haven’t seen that Evolved power before.”

  Even though Damion had lowered his guard, the others kept theirs up. Jareth especially stayed alert, since he knew, or thought he knew, what she was: a cambion. Stacy had finally bent down and picked up her tablet and typed a few things down.

  “If you would please,” Stacy said with her voice slightly shaky, “come with me to your next test.

  They walked to the Agility test. She lasted for 30 seconds and was scored a 5. Next was the drum. Her fist smashed into the drum and the number 30 showed on the screen above.

  “She’s strong.” Henry said with a surprised look.

  “She is not as strong as me!” Damion said pumping out his chest.

  Hannah snorted in response. “Yea, sure Damion.

  Damion frowned at her. Madison got in the ring, and she lasted for 10 seconds. It was double what Jareth got but just like him her fighting ability wasn’t good. The score came out to be a 4 for dexterity.

  “Your stamina measured at a 6,” Stacy said. “And what is your Evolved power again?”

  “I am a part of an Original Evolved Bloodline,” Madison said.

  “An original?” Emma asked surprised.

  “Yes,” Madison responded. We don’t really know what to call it, but you can just call it the demon power.

  “Demon… power,” Stacy said while typing it down.

  Madison was an Original Evolved. She had the ability to conjure her “inner demon.” Her family liked to keep the power a secret which is why Madison was about to request this.

  “As an “Original, I request that my ability knowledge and name be removed from your system.”

  “Stacy showed an irritated expression as she deleted the information. Her watch displayed her as having 1 ability but no name of what the Evolved power was, and a total power of 5.

  Stacy hated that Originals have certain privileges. The same can be said about the powerful families but she tried to ignore that and selected the next participant.

  “Hannah Moore!”

  Hannah stepped forward still wearing her mask as she swiped her blonde hair aside. She turned around swinging her hip out. All the boys were mesmerized of her perfect curvature of her body. Though Damion snapped out of it first and shook both Jareth and Henry. Hannah turned back around to face Stacy.

  “Evolved powers?” Stacy said looking like she was tired of doing this.

  “Earth, Telekinesis, and Foresight.” Hannah said proudly.

  Stacy looked up as soon as Hannah mentioned foresight.

  “How far into the future can you see?” Stacy asked.

  “5 seconds,” Hannah responded very proudly.

  Stacy typed down some information then proceeded to explain the test to Hannah. When she was finished, Hannah moved her arms around and chunks of Earth raised into the air. She then thrusted her hand forward and the earth balls soared and destroyed the targets.

  “Very impressive!” Stacy said as she was tapping on her tablet.

  They went over to the Agility test and after a moment the machine started to shoot spikes at her. She was evading the spikes very gracefully like she had done this all her life. Her eyes were not glowing orange, so she wasn’t looking into the future. She had confidence in herself. When she had finally gotten hit, she had lasted for two minutes and 40 seconds. The number 42 appeared on the screen.

  “Forty-two!” Henry, Emma, and Madison shouted at the same time with shock.

  The number forty-two was like looking at a god, a power that they couldn’t grasp. Jareth’s mouth opened slightly. Forty-two Jareth thought, I hope one day I can surpass her with the help of the Draven System. One day, I will get there, Jareth swore to himself.

  Unlike the others, Damion was the only one that wasn’t surprised. Damion had seen feats more powerful than Hannah’s; his Great-grandmother was an example. She was stronger than most and could win against most people without even needing to stand up.

  Stacy and Hannah went over to the strength test. Chunks of Earth flew up wrapping itself around her arm forming a rock arm. The air around her left hand wavered but no one could see this but Hannah. She was preparing to use her telekinesis power to help to propel her arm into the drum.

  Her arm slammed into the drum and a loud bang resounded around the area. The number that appeared above the drum on the screen was the number 55. It was another number that shocked everyone but Damion again.

  They proceeded to the next test. Hannah jumped over the four ropes of the ring landing in the middle of the fighting area. The test began and she dodged and hit the big red X’s effortlessly. This showed that she had been training for a very long time. She lasted for 9 minutes.

  “Dexterity 40, “Stacy said while she started to calculate the Stamina. After a moment she answered that question. “Stamina 42.”

  She looked up at Hannah and smiled. “You will be marked as having 3 abilities. Earth is at a power of 7, telekinesis at 6, and foresight at 6. Your total power is 19 and since you have 3 abilities it will be marked as out of 30. Each ability you have increases by 10 and since you have three abilities that is why it is 30.”

  The information now was displayed on her Forwatch. The three abilities with each individual power and a total power of 19.

  “And now our last participant,” Stacy paused for a moment while looking at the name. “Damion Youngblood.”
